Leaving BOS on our first flight of our anniversary trip. Upgraded to AA Flagship First for this 1hr trip. Seat is quite nice.

We leave on a pleasant day here before the snow storm comes tomorrow.

Picking up bags to transfer to the next airline, but… first snafu. We got one bag quickly but have been waiting an additional 20 mins before Tom’s bag is loaded onto belt. What was going on? We may never know. Union Break? A.I.? Ended up coming out on the LA belt!Read more

Took air train over a few stops. Passed by the TWA hotel. Now we are checking bags!

Ok, not till 5:30p. Singapore has strict entry restrictions, but transiting passengers will find travel easy with approved docs.

Beyond that, the experience has been awful. Everyone has different or invalid information. They bumped back the start of checking-in, and each passenger requires nearly 20 mins of work to get boarding pass, with one line. Insane! We were first in line but an agent (who put me in that lane.) made me move to the other side of a rope (1ft) and had us go to back instead of just walking directly up first. Totally ignorant involvement. Pic of the two lines included.

Finally got boarding passes after very complicated document checks. Our agent had to get the supervisor 4 times.

I got Pre-check, Tom did not. I took his bag and went through Clear. Security was a breeze.Read more

Ordered dinner and drinks. Took a shower together!

We boarded our SingaporeAir A350ER with 29 rows of Business Class Seats. Our seats were next to each other at 29F and 29K. I almost alway take the window. The flight capped out at 17hrs 25mins due to favorable winds. We landed over an hour early.

The embarkation was smooth and efficient. Singapore Air is one of the classiest commercial flight operators. Everything on board is elegant. The announcements are kept to a minimum. They mentioned masks once. Which is a huge contrast to the American carriers who basically patrol the cabin waiting to pounce on people if their mask falls below their nose.

I preordered meals. The food was hot and delicious. Champagne and single malt whisky were my drinks. The stewards always greet you by name.Read more

We made it to one of my favorite airports. Layover, go to lounge, shower, eat, have a Singapore Sling! Butterfly garden is closed temporarily. Relaxed feel overall in COVID age.

Seat 11A which is the first seat actually.
3 course meal. I had the Lamb Shank. We actually ran them dry of champagne. Oops!

This marks my second time on a seaplane. Such a cool machine, an amphibious airliner.

Our flight will be 45 mins. This brings our air travel to a total of 22hrs and 20mins to arrive at the resort.
