  • Dubai ... almost there!

    August 20, 2022 in the United Arab Emirates ⋅ ⛅ 33 °C

So FlyDubai is weird. You need to pay to watch TV, even more for movies? Good thing I downloaded Netflix movies 😃 But here I am, halfway. 2 more hours and then off to Jakarta. Also finally got to some good food today - massaman curry! Off to hunt for cookies 🧐Read more

  • Hello Jakarta!

    August 20, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

20 hours of airports, airplanes, semi-sleeping, airplane food (yes, I love that stuff), waiting in lines, covid questions, visas, customs (ha some Japanese dad got busted trying to smuggle looots of alcohol haha)... And I'm finally here! Finally with my Lili ❤️ again 😊
Since it's dark I have no idea how it looks like here but from first look - Asia baby! ❤️ Cables and scooters and palm trees and street food and tiny people. I'm gonna love this!

  • Trippin Jakarta

    August 21, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Mmmmm, the wonderful sweet smell of Asia. I love it. It's nice waking up to it. Continuing tradition of staying in a proper hotel to overcome the jetlag.. Sooo it's was nice waking up to to a sound of jazz and looking at hotel garden with trees! And of course there was a pool, so we went for a swim immediately. It's so nice chilling in pool and watching huge city of Jakarta over the fence. Good morning Indonesia ❤️
After breakfast we headed to the center to a museum, where we also met Lili's friend Ilja. The museum is really nice, showing how huge this country actually is, sooo many islands and languages, so many tribes, so many nice sculptures,.. I'm gonna love this country!
After museum it was time to see National monument, the huge obelisk in the park in the center of Jakarta. We didn't bother much for waiting in line to go up, it was too hot. This city has trees but they cannot fix the head of huge concrete squares. So instead we went to the Istiqlal mosque. This thing apparently takes up to 200k people 🤯
So hot, too hot, we had to chill and went for old town - a place still there from dutch times. Aaaand of course they had biterbalen 😃 Compared to Amsterdam they were shit but what was more important - this place had beer. I ordered jumbo size! Well, "jumbo" here is regular 0,5l beer at home 😂
Of course, as always in Asia, people were coming to us to take pictures and selfies with us, I'm talking whole families, granmas and all! But they are the sweetest people 😊
We ended up the day with some more street food, shrimps, tempeh, sambal and whatnot. And there was some rodent also available to eat (yum-ee) but I passed it 😃
Tomorrow it's train time 💪 Yogya here we come!

  • Yogyakarta 🚂

    August 22, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

It's time to move on! Having a 9am train to Yogyakarta. Traffic in the morning was super busy so we got there just in time, phew! But we had a cool taxi driver, he even sung to us!
Trains here are nice! Wifi, AC, seats you can put well back, really well organized. Ride took around 6 hours to arrive to Yogyakarta. What a nice hippy city, full of coffee bars, cute little streets 😊
We had a quick dinner and ended up the day in some brewery / rock bar, where some Spanish families celebrated some birthday. Sooo much singing and fun 😃

  • Prambanan 🛵

    August 23, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Temples. I love temples. Walking around them makes me feel super calm with all the silence and thinking how things must've looked like 😊
We got a scooter for 80.000idr (5€), put some gas in for 2€ and off we went. 20km to Prambanan, Hindu temple, mostly ruined in 2006 earthquake. But it's still lovely, main buildinga stand proud 💪
It was HOT! We found some awesome icecream which made it better! We're lucky there aren't that many tourists still. Now is the time to travel haha.
After Prambanan we went to another temple, smaller but cuter, Lili says.
We drove back to the Yogyakarta, driving here is...not as rough as India, people drive very nicely, making right turns in big intersections is of course tricky, especially with Indonesians cutting corners 😂 But it awesome to drive in Asia, always!
Lili found some nice place to eat. Again, they had Bitterballen, these were yummy! Also had some noodles and bunch of juices and lassi!
Now we're chilling, making plans for tomorrow and off to go find a pharmacy because of course I got sunburned, classic 🤪

  • Borobudur 🛕

    August 24, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

We had to get up eeeeeearly. 3am to go for the sunrise Borobudur tour. I was still all sticky from the chinese medicine i had to put on burns but it fixed then quite well. Too early 😂
They drove us for an hour to some hill to wait for sunrise. Beautiful! Morning mist, butterflies and birds waking up, just lovely. And you could see volcanoes in the distance!
Next we went to Borobudur. This is the largest buddhist temple apparently. This is huge! Sadly due to covid and being on Unesco list you cannot climb to the top anymore. Boo. But still, it's majestic! 🤯 Fun fact: this used to be to black stones but because some Dutch colonialist genius couldn't take a picture of it - they painted it yellow. Like a submarine 😂
Maybe due to early waking up and also me being burned from sun a bit I got really weak somehow. Just couldn't stay awake. So when we got back we asked next airbnb if we can arrive early and they said ok. Yay.
We're in this beautiful house outside of Yogyakarta, with a view over the fields, banana trees, papayas, all kinds of animals around. This is relaxation! My Lili ❤️ is enjoying this soooo very much! And I finally feel better after getting some extra nap. Aaaand used Gojek to order some pizza delivery, junk food always helps 😊

  • Cruisin' around 🛵

    August 25, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

It's so awesome waking up in the middle.of nowhere, sounds of birds, gekkos, nature... Serenity. This house has this nice outside bathroom (you just need to wait for all ants to get washed away first haha). So after a breakfast a plan was made - scooter and driving around countryside to a waterfall. Lili did all the research and figured it all out. Nice!❤️
Driving around here is more pleasant than in city. These villages are beautiful, aaaaall people smiling at us wheh they see us, kids waving, tiny grandma's staring... We first stopped at some place that is probably usually touristic but sadly (well good for us!) not yet due to covid. So we got some coffee (and ice cream breakfast!). Watching kids all curiously walking around us, they are so cute haha.
We then continues over some hills and stopped in the middle of nowhere for some lunch. My Lili discussed and ordered a delicious soup with... chicken feet (see picture haha). Yum-eee. 🐔It's not as horrible as it sounds (soup by itself was goooood) but I didn't ask for seconds 😂
Soon we arrived to waterfall which is nice. Water is a bit low and not so good to swim but it was nice to sit in the jungle, watching out for coconuts not to fall on our heads and chill in the shade. And we had the whole place for ourself! This country is beautiful 😊
Toward the evening we returned to the house. Now chilling, watching lights in the distance. Waiting for Gojek (like Wolt or Deliveroo) to bring us food. Yumm!

    August 26, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

New day new adventure 💪 I woke up early, went out and a cat came along. He's nice. We called him Dudi by a taxi driver we saw in Jakarta (I shit you not). So after breakfast and getting our laundry back (mmmmm) it was time to ride again! Well, almost, because in my helmet I found a huge spider. Pheeww 😅 This would've been fun if I saw it during driving 😂
It was time for the beach! Yeah! Beach is around 20 km to the south. No one anywhere, looks almost like post-apocalyptic. You can see where all the restaurants are but all closed or empty. Well this tiny grandma waved so we went there for coffee. I had no idea what she and her husband were telling us but Lili, the communication officer, seemed to get into the chat just fine 😂 These old people are beautiful!
Then we walked to the beach. Sooo awesome, black sand!!! and it was great to hear and see the power of the Indian ocean - roaring. It was quite windy so waves were big! I was being careful about weather so we headed back. Through small roads. We drove through small villages, all kids waving, smiling,.. I always smile when driving here so it's nice seeing some serious mom starting getting smile back 😃 We were trying to find some waterfall, got lost few times in the process haha. Finally we got there but the water level is so low it wasn't much of waterfall 😕
Lili then rembered there is a chocolate factory nearby. Hell yes! It's a Belgium thing and they also had nice food soooooo... Quiche, pancake cake, some tart with chocolate 😋 Aaaand went through chocolate museum and factory. Sadly - no chocolate to try haha.
Now we're home, chilling on porch, listening to calls to prayer, watching fireflies. Lovely 😊

Update: when you hear "Marko?! Marko?!" you know shit hit the fan. 🤣 There was a huge spider in bedroom. I hate them. And it moved. Eek. Somehow we got him out, sprayed all around the door for the beast not to return haha. I might sleep tonight. Maybe. Hmm. Sure. Right. Right?

  • Wandering around Yogyakarta

    August 27, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Time to go back to Yogyakarta and evening train to Malang. We took a quick morning walk around rice fields in front of our house, scratch the cats and called taxi. Time to go 😕 Or better yet - continue 💪
In Yogyakarta it was my lady's day. So first my Lili ❤️ picked some traditional local food made of jackfruit. It's a specialty here and it's pretty good! We sat, ate, watched tiny granmas 😊
We wanted to go see the palace but of course it was closed today. Meh. So we went to some bath place of the Sultan (yup, they have Sultan in Yogyakarta). While walking there some grandpa joined us and start guiding us. He was funny 😊 And check this - half way there he got us to a place where they produce and sell kopi luwak! And they had an actual luwak there, so cute! Of course we tried the coffee and bought some 😃 Lili was "meh medium" but I like it, it's strong.
Soon we arrived to bath place. It's pretty awesome, big pool and all, they also have old streets and underground mosque, which, sadly, was closed due to covid. And sooo many birds in cages singing everywhere (also the damn shitting pigeons e-ve-rywhere!).
It's really nice waking around here, cool art and grafiti all around the city, tiny streets, feels like it's not a 3mio city at all. Lili was guiding us to this art/book store for tea and chill time 😊
We ended up the day with nice dinner (Bitterballen of course haha) and a proper massage for my lady ❤️ (and note from Lili: Marko took me to a VEGAN! place. Wow people, that's love haha). (Hi, Marko here again. Salad called "burger" was lekker 😋🤣).
Now we're sitting on the train to Malang, we're arriving there at 3am. Yikes. But we're seeing some really cool waterfall tomorrow! Can't wait! 😃

  • Tumpak Sewu waterfall

    August 28, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

4 hours of sleep and early waking up to see the waterfall! This is the way! So we had quick breakfast and chat with owners (who also hosted my friend and her family few weeks ago!) then we left. This is quite a drive, 2+ hours. It's far!
We got there, got some quick snack and just seeing the waterfall from viewpoint it was 🤯 But this is where it only begins!
You walk down to the hole on some really shady stairs, you walk on some tiny waterfalls holding on a rope, my Lili went like a pro 💪Good thing I took her to the Alps few feeks ago 🤣
And then you get there. This is just beautiful. Wonderful. All the nice things. You stand in a hole and there is waterfall all around you. Crazy! Nature is amazing!
We took pictures, watches others taking weird shirtless pictures (not judging), people secretly taking picture of us, classic 🤪
Instead of going back up we went down the canyon. From this point on there was no one around. Beautiful to explore nature like this all by ourselves. So many waterfalls, so many wonderful trees and flowers, then you climb up waterfalls and rocks to see the caves. This is heaven!
Saldy in the end you have to leave this canyon and climb back up. Lili says this is one of the most beautiful things she has seen. Yeah, it's there in top 10 😊
After long way home we ordered some dinner and in bed at 20h, we're leaving for Bromo at midnight. This should be fun to wake up 😂

  • Bromo!

    August 29, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

After 4 hours of sleep (yup) it was midnight. And time to go for the Bromo! We were zombies haha.. A jeep came to pick us up. It was tiny but somehow we squeezed in. After an hour we met with other jeeps and started going up. You can't see much during the night, just lights of jeeps in the distance through the mist, sandy road up 😃 After some driving, waiting we arrived at some viewpoint place at 4, got coffee, fried bananas,... Nice. And sooo many people! We headed to the lookout point but me and Lili proceeded through some bushes (as advised by homestay people) and climbing up to get the better spot. Along we met some funny Italian guy, who also gave us some tips for Flores and some fish markets.
We were happy we found some secret place to watch the sunrise, but soon found out its no so secret - maaaany people came, along with some loud Italian group yelling all the time omg 😂 but couldn't be bothered, just looked at what was soon to be a (hopefully) stunning view 🤘
Then it started, the colors, all of them, blue, purple, orange, sky was beeeeeautiful (this is the most common word Lili is using recently ❤️)! Soon after that you can start seeing vulcanoes below. This is all so surreal! Then some volcano in the back decided to burp and show some smoke for good morning 😊 We were all there for like 2 hours, doing woooooow all the time, watching people making weird/funny pictures 😃 Wow!
After this it was time to go to Bromo volcano. All smells of phosphorus and misty all around, pretty impressive. You have to walk up for around 40 minutes and you get to the edge of it. The sound of the volcano, the roar, is crazy! You can walk around it (not whole part, also smoke is coming out). Nature is just wow! 🤯
Soon it was time to head back, seeing one more waterfall on our way back and you could now see all the things we couldn't while driving there - lots of jungle, hills, really beautiful!
We had to chill a bit before catching a 6 hour train to Banyuwangi. This time economy. Whoa these people have tiny seats on trains, haha. And I was sleeeeepy!
We arrived here at almost midnight and got a,ride to our bamboo place Lili found. It was raining, meh. So it made this place look a bit creepy 😃 Aaaand there was a dead gecko hanging from the ceiling 🤣 Good night!

  • Bali, baby!

    August 30, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

This morning we talked "what if we just go to Bali?". Sure. We packed, put few millions in our pocket, booked a villa with a pool and left. I know how this sounds but let me enjoy the moment 😂
A quick ferry takes you to Bali, costs like 15k and takes like 40 minutes. Easy. 💪
The owner from next place came to pick us up and drove us to Lovina, lovely village up north. It's quite a ride but Bali looks nice, different from Java due to Hindu being main religion here. And then I found out my Lili actually booked a villa 🥰 With a pool! This is cheap, 26€ plus cleaning so 40 for a day. And we had our own pool! And free scooter to use, yay! We chilled, swam, then went to village for dinner. Fish time😋 We had a feast! So good we ordered two meals each haha. And finally nap time because in the morning we go swimming with the dolphins 😃

  • Lovina and dolphins 🐬

    August 31, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Dolphins day! We woke up early (Bali is one hour more to the east) to have coffee in our garden. At least this time there were no dead gekko hanging around. It was a dead bat 😶🤣 We fixed that and went to village where we were met with the owner of villa for a dolphine your. We went on a little wooden boat and head out.🚤
Nice to see Bali from a distance, sea was calm, really lovely. And before you know it - DOLPHINS! We were like little kids, aaaaaall excited and happy! And there were also baby dolphins jumping out, close to our boat, this is so beautiful! 🐬
Then it was breakfast time, coffee, tea and delicious fried bananas 😋 That was just a pause before putting on masks, hold to rope while boat drives and look under water. At first there was nothing much, then I saw some fish down there, rolling around, and then more... there were like tens of big dolphins swimming, swirling around and dancing around eachother, this is just wooow! So awesome! 🐬🐬 And this went on for like half an hour. Holding on to the ropes at the speed of the boat let us slide along side the dolphins as they went. Beautiful! Hehe there are like 10 tiny boats all moving to where someone spots the dolphins 😃
After awhile we said goodbye and moved closer to coast (while chilling in hammocks) for some snorkeling. First we put some bread in water, there were soooo many fish of all colors! I hade to go in! Corals all around, fish, sooo many! And they just swim around you, come close to you, crazy nice! 🐠🐟
It was getting hot and it was sadly time to go back, eat something and then check out. The guy offered a ride (for €€ of course) and we went to check a nice buddhist temple, so quiet and nice! We really enjoyed it 😊
Finally we went to our next accommodation somewhere inside Bali that Lili found. There are little temples everywhere!
This has got to be the accommodation with best view I've ever seen - jungle on one side, rice fields on the other, sea in the distance. A house with all doors instead of walls so you can just chill on bed and watch the surroundings, can't wait for the morning view 😊 Lady also made us delicious dinner and we signed up for some cooking class, let's see how it goes 💪
Bali so far is really beautiful ❤️ saying good night now watching the stars with the ceremonies on the background

  • Bali chillin'

    September 1, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Finally a day we don't have to get up early, woohoo! We slept long! This place is so peaceful. Soon the ladies called us for breakfast, yum (pancakes!!😋).
We felt like chilling through the day, so Lili went around, I started reading diving book and booked a open water course. I CAN'T WAIT! 🐟🐠
Lilian made a plan - we go around village and find a river to swim. Of course we left at 13, when sun is strongest. That's how we roll 🤘 And of course it was too hot so we quickly went through village, got some ice tea and headed straight to river. It's a lovely walk through rice fields 😊
We came to river, the water was low so we just say there, chilling in nice water. The nature here is beautiful!
Later we came back to house, more chilling 💪
The place we're staying is run by two ladies, from one of which is the wife of the local priest. So we booked a mind cleansing/meditation ceremony thing by a nearby labirint. Priest and all. This was beautiful, flowers, scent sticks... Lovely! Priest chanted and performed all rituals as part of the ceremony while the wife kindly guided us through our part of it all 🙏 Grateful to have an experience like this, loving people in a wonderful place. And they dressed us up, we looked super handsome, especially my Lili ❤️
After dinner we're sitting outside again, listening to frogs and who knows what animals all around. This is true relaxation 😊🦆

  • Amed

    September 2, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Another easy wonderful morning 😊 After the breakfast a lady showed us a local woodshop where her family make temples. Nice yet focused job. Quite impressive!
After short walk around we had a cooking class, yay! We made curry chicken, fried potatoes with sweet chilly and a vegetable soup. This was so much fun! Also talking to ladies to find out more about this nice place 😊 we cooked good 😋
It was time to go. Next stop - Amed. Two hours away behind a volcano, there is this nice village. It's all about diving! It's really chilled here, black beach, you swim while watching a huge volcano above 😃
Day ended up with informations about tomorrow dives and then a nice mexican dinner. Mmmmm.
It was a short and easy day. But tomorrow it's dive time 🤘😃

  • Diving day 🐟🐠

    September 3, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

I was up super early super excited about diving! I couldn't wait! So after a quick breakfast they picked me up and drove me to dive center. Lili stayed at home, reading and chilling 😘
I got a cool lady instructor Adriana from Slovakia, experienced and a really good teacher. Promised to take Lili with me on my last dive, yay! I had lots of learning, explaining the cylinder, equipment,... and then the dive started. Oooooh this was fun! I had few problems with my buoyancy at first and had to get all my pockets filled with stones haha. The world below was beautiful, so many corals, fish, you name it! Sadly no pictures for now 😕 First dive was followed by a second one to practice taking off mask and putting it back on etc. This is so much fun but lots to learn 🤓
After I was finished Lili found a really good restaurant with goooood food and even better desserts. Yum!
I wish I could chill but I need to learn to pass the exam. Having a pause between lessons while my Lili is sleeping, she hasn't been feeling well past days. Hope she'll be better tomorrow or I'll go hunt for pharmacies. Sleep well my Lili ❤️

    September 5, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

This is the day! I'm waking up at 6 here all the time, bed early, wake up early, yay. Also grandpa next door always runs the water pump at 6 for the salt farm next door, so... we just go up on balcony and watch the sunrise 🌞
After breakfast (Balinese - see picture 😋) while waiting for my ride to the dive center I've just started to do the exam. 50 questions, passed it like boss - 100%! Time to start exploring the other 70% of the planet 🌏
Then it was dive time, this time we went on a shipwreck, US Liberty that was sunk here during ww2. Whoa! This is big! And all the animals and corals, nice! I also saw a huge turtle feeding herself, this is insanely beautiful! 🐠🐟 So many fish and everything, I love diving! And sorry, no pictures, I don't have any camera yet. Soon!
Lili in meanwhile went to doctor - ear infection. But she got pills and is getting better and better, yay! ❤️💪
But this week is a work week for me so after 2 dives and some lunch I started working 💪 It's easy working with the sound of sea behind, taking a pause at the beach,...
We had a nice dinner in a mediterranean restaurant 😊 Food here is just so good! Overall: Amed is nice! Good vibes, nice people, majestic vulcano, black beaches, fisherman, salt farms and tons of beautiful underwater world. We love it here.
Tomorrow we go to the Gillis 😃🤘🐬🐠🐟

  • Yes mom, we're still alive 😃

    September 9, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

After Bali we went to Gili air. Tiny island next to Lombok and it takes an hour and a half by a speed boat. It's kinda cool you can still see Bali's volcano from here. Basically wheh you swim you can see them everywhere 😃
Gili is nice, chilled, no cars. It's more touristic than we thought, no more a hippie island but stil relaxed. You can see that business is down and affected by corona 😕 But less tourists more fun (at least for us). Here it's all about diving and good food. Food overall in Indonesia is really really awesome! Maybe a bit too much western offerings but still fine.
Lili's ears are finally okay, she's happy as a bird again ❤️ Yesterday we went diving, only one for me since I had to work. I saw sharks! And turtles! They are so cool. Can't wait for new dives tomorrow, today I'm working local time and Lili in meantime dives. This afternoon my time off starts again 💪 So hopefully I'll post more pictures again and for sure I'll dive more! Next week it's Flores time and that means islands, dragon and dives 🐠🐟🐬🌞

  • Dive time 🐠🐟

    September 10, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Saturday, dive time! Straight after breakfast it was time to dive! Lilian had advanced dive (deeper), I had regular one. We went to Sunset reef. 15 minutes by a boat and into the water we went. There were tons of corals, fish, we also saw two lovely turtles, one feasting on corals 🐢 I lasted for 50 minutes, which was quite ok.
After a break and lunch we went to second dive, this time to turtle heaven. As the name itself tells, there were lots of turtles! So many! And while diving suddenly we hears a big baaang. All fish moved (whole school of them shot straight into the blue in the deeper parts) for a second and then went back to usual business. Turned out it was some 3.3 earthquake, pretty normal for these parts 😃 Cooool 🤙Also saw lobsters, pufferfish, boxfish,...
Now we're chilling on beach. Gili Air was nice with all the orange cats (everywhere), live music at night and rainbows over Lombok - yep did have some occasional short rain past days but fine. Tomorrow we go back to Bali and having a flight to Flores on Monday morning, more diving yay! 🥰

  • Bye Gili , hello again Bali

    September 11, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

It was time to leave Gili and head back to Bali where we have our flight to last island on this trip - Flores. Yeah, more diving and search for the dragon 🐉
We had a speedboat and my Lili figured out we can sit on the roof also! Crazy! And some dude was selling beer! This is the way to travel 😎
Took us around 2 hours to get to Bali and then a good hour of driving to get to Kuta, which is really near the airport.
Again Lili booked a neat hotel with nice pool and a pool bar 😃 Kuta is loaded with Australians, but they are quite chill, perhaps because they are mostly older, young ones go to Denpasar I guess. But where are aussies there is amazing BBQ! But instead of other things we went to Bubba Gump 💪 All Forrest Gump themed, movie played. Not the cheapest place but food is just crazy good! Surf'n'turf and baby ribs were 🤯
Bedtime soon, waking up at 6 again, meh 🤪

    September 12, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

It was time to fly today to Flores! Yay! Dragons and diving and stuff 😃 But our flight was delayed so we had to wait for like 6 hours. Oh well, fish breakfast time then 🐟🤙 This beach was way nicer and empty, with calm blue sea, it was great to chill while watching airplanes landing 😃
Flying to Labuan Bajo only takes an hour. This is a tiny town (with a huge modern hotel in the middle hehe). But seeing a harbor gives that pirate vibe haha. We immediately signed up for diving, of course, set up our gear, got the info and we're super excited to go tomorrow! This town is nice, local. With a beautiful sunset over the islands and boats just from the wooden pier at the end of the street.

  • This diving place is amazing

    September 13, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

This is it! Diving in top 10 diving spot in the world! I woke up at 5:30 by myself, couldn't wait! After meeting with people it was time to go! 😃
They have a nice boat that took around 8 of us out to the islands. This place is beautiful! We had snacks and everything and drove for about an hour to the first dive spot.🛥️
My God, this place it amazing ! Sooo many turtles, sharks, clownfish, parrotfish, unicornfish, corals, this is 🤯 Wow, no words how beautiful this is! I've never seen so many fish in one place.
After first dive we went to second one called Manta point. Mantras swim here in the current, so you go in water in one place and go with current to about 2km away. I SAW MANTA! It was chilling there on a table, with fish cleaning her. Whooooaaa! I was lying on floor on my belly just watching this huge creature, so beautiful! We were lucky, Lili's grouo didnt see any while we saw two! Also some turtles and triggerfish and whatnot. 😃
Third dive was supposed to be in one fabous spot, behind a rock where tide goes around, sadly it was too strong and we had to move to another location - a wall! Whooooaaa! So many fish and corals again, so colorful! And saw a feather star!! And a big white tipped shark 😊 I love this place!
We ended up the day with local fish market - you pick the fish and they make it 🐟

  • Cave and around 🛵

    September 14, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

It's time to explore the island a bit. Lili is a lady with a plan. And scooter keys 😃
We could finally sleep longer! And the plan is to see and swim in a cave! Nice!
We drove on main road until some tiny village where not even internet works 😃 Some guy offered us a boat ride to the cave. It's a 10 minute ride to get there. It's a tiny cave with salt water and you can swim! With all the bats flying above you 😊 It's quite popular. But swimming a bit deeper into to dark cave was only for the lucky few (🤘💪). So quiet in the back especially when our eyes got used to the dark. Nice! After we came out we had to wait for our boat because we've been swimming for a long time haha
Back in village we enjoyed sitting with locals and had some snack before heading back.
We've stopped on the way home in some bar with nice view. Well, this place will soon turn into a huge hotel, meh.
We ended the day with booking a trip around Komodo and nice Italian dinner 😊

    I saw a dragon! 😃
So we took a tour with a (1000 hp haha yeah) speed boat around islands. We started early but soon we got to the Padar island, really famous for the spectacular view. It's around 800 stairs to get to the top. Wow! This island is beautiful! And it has a pink beach, which we visited shortly after. Before that - we saw 2 tiny manstas in the bay!! Ok ok, next to the pink beach 😃
It's all the tiny red corals mixed with white sand that makes it look pinkish. And it was snorkeling time! This is far from scuba diving but beautiful, you see all from clownfish to parrotfish and whatnot! 🐟🐠
After about an hour it was the time - to go - to the - Komodo island! 😃
Komodo is huge. And immediately when walking to a beach we saw first dragon! Tiny, but a dragon haha. We met with guide and started the 2km tour. Soon we saw another one, bigger. I was so happy and couldn't believe I'm finally here seeing them in person 😃 Then you get to see even bigger one, just chilling in the sand in shade 😊 They are soooo cool!
When doing the trip you see all - eagles, deers, wild boars, apparently also buffalos live here, crazy nature! It is a dry season but I really wonder how this place looks when all green 😊
Soon it was time to leave for next place - a tiny sandy island in the middle of sea (imagine that). Snorkeling time again 😃We enjoyed this so much! Every coral has so many fish around 😊
Manta point was also nearby - we tried our luck - all in flippers and masks waiting to jump into the water - sadly no luck, so on to next island for more snorkeling 🐟
This place is really amazing, so many fish and animals, such beauty! We love this area ❤️
Ended the day with lobster dinner, which we amateurs don't quite know how to eat, others clean this thing dry, we're too spoiled I guess 🤣
This is last night in this paradise in Indonesia, tomorrow is our flight back to Jakarta. I'll miss this place but we'll for sure come back!
