Nun ist es soweit, es heisst Tschüss sagen. Wir haben nochmals ausgiebig gefrühstückt bevor wir unser Zimmer abgeben mussten. Da unser Flug erst am späteren Nachmittag geht, konnten wir das Gepäck im Hotel deponieren. So machten wir uns nochmals auf zum Outlet Center, damit wir der Hitze etwas entfliehen konnten. Heute wurde es bis 42°. Beim Check-in hat alles bestens geklappt. Nach 4.5 Std Flug haben wir Singapur erreicht, wo wir die schönen Dekorationen am Flughafen bewundern konnten, während wir auf den Anschluss warteten.Read more

Wir sind nach 10,5 Stunden Flug gut in Singapur gelandet. Wir sind um 12 Uhr neuseeländischer Zeit gestartet. In Singapur ist es jetzt abends (20 Uhr). Wir haben die Uhren aber schon auf deutsche Zeit umgestellt und werden versuchen auf dem 14 Stunden Flug nach Frankfurt ein bisschen Schlaf zu bekommen. Fühlt sich aber gerade alles etwas durcheinander an, weil es draußen schon dunkel ist 🙈

Der Flug nach Singapur war ruhig, wobei es im Flieger sehr laut war. Mats hat viel TV geschaut. Pia hat ein bisschen geschlafen und war zwischendurch sehr unzufrieden, weil sie ihren Bewegungsdrang nicht ausleben konnte 😉

In unserem eigentlichen Rhythmus ist es gerade Nacht. Dafür machen die Kids das sensationell gut am Flughafen. Die Uno-Karten glühen schon wieder 😉👍👍Read more

On the way again

Today is my last day in Singapore. I woke up quite late so I didn’t plan something big before I need to go to the airport.
That was actually the best decision I could make! It’s extremely hot outside today and I got really problems with the heat and moisture out there.
So I just went to the river and was sitting there in the shadow and reading a bit until it was time to grab some lunch and go back to the hostel to pick up my backpack and take the train to the airport. Luckily the air condition in the train was working perfectly 😅
After I checked in I took a walk through the airport but was ending up by my beloved foot massage as always 😊

Gelandet: 1. Halt - Singapur

Zwei Stunden später als geplant bin ich nun angekommen - und auch mein Gepäck 🎒👍

Auf dem ersten Flug (über Zürich) habe ich direkt meine erste Bekanntschaft macht: mein Sitznachbar Sascha, auf dem Weg nach Johannesburg, musste glücklicherweise für seinen Weiterflug zum gleichen Gate und sich ebenfalls beeilen, sodass wir uns zusammen auf den Weg quer durch den Flughafen machen konnten. Der zweite Flug nach Singapur war dann mit einer Flugzeit von circa 13 Stunden doch wirklich lang. Aber ich muss gestehen, dass das Essen an Board wirklich in Ordnung war (das oben rechts, was aussieht wie Dip mit Speckwürfeln, war übrigens ein Vanille-Mousse mit Karamellstückchen; ich hätte fast mein Brötchen da eingetunkt 😅).

Der Flughafen in Singapur ist sehr modern und sauber, jetzt sitze ich in der Bahn in Richtung Innenstadt.Read more

Dernier jour à Singapour 🇸🇬. Petite matinée à la piscine avec la rencontre d’une Chinoise qui ne parlait pas très bien anglais d’ailleurs.
Après je suis allée manger à Haji Lane pour partir tôt pour l’aéroport je voulais admirer la fameuse Jewel Changi.
Et puis l’heure du vol a sonné. Décollage 🚀 pour Melbourne. Suis-je stressée ? Suis-je excitée ? Suis-je heureuse ?

In Singapore I have a 3 1/2 hour long stopp over. I started with walking around, as my knees really hurt this time, it was really nice to move them again.
I must say I am super disappointed, my favorite foot massage mashines are not here anymore and I was looking so much forward to use them again. 😕
Too bad. Wonder if they removed them because of Covid? 🤔

I the beginning the warm and humid air was challenging me, but after a while I got used to it. But I am super tired and must they I not looking forward for another 7 1/2 hours on an airplane 😬
Boarding was starting in time, we left Singapore 15 minutes to late. At least not one extra hour again.
The flight was really bumpy in the beginning. Nothing bad but just all the time again and again. I am sitting beside a young girl from India. So I am lucky again with that. We talked a little bit, but we're both so tired and we're trying to get some sleep then. I must have been falling asleep a few times, but just for some minutes each time. It helps a little but, but I a so tired now.
We arrived in Melbourne at 9:25pm.
I cleared boarder control easy. The woman even started chatting with me about me trip and was really interested.
After that I went to the baggage claim. Unfortunately they had some problems with the bags so we all had to wait quite a while for our bags. As tired as I am, I just wanted to leave the airport.
Luckily my bag one one of the first ones to come. So I went straight to the last check of my bags. In the way in the line, a man ask for my declaration card and ask me what I have declared as I told him it's my snorkeling equipment and that I used it in Western Australia last time, i wanted to know if it's clean and as I said yes I got a stemp on the card hab just had to give it to the lady at the end of the line and was good to go. No further checks of my bags. Awesome.
So I went to buy a Australian sim card and two sandwiches, booked an Uber and after 5 more minutes i was already on the way to my Airbnb, 15 minutes away from the airport.Read more

Flug von Deutschland nach Singapur

Nach einem langen Flug, sind wir endlich in Singapur angekommen. Die Kinder haben ihren allerersten Flug super mitgemacht - bei Start und Landung hatten wir auch keine Probleme. Allein die Laute Toilettenspülung hatte Mats im Flugzeug doll Angst gemacht :D

Nun ging es aber ins Hotel - das Carlton Hotel Singapore.
Bereits am Flughafen ist uns die penieble Sauberkeit aufgefallen. Sogar die Griffe von der Rolltreppe wurden nach jedem Durchrollen gewaschen und desinfiziert. Oha.
Zum Hotel gelangten wir mit einem Taxi. Auch die Straßen sahen sauber aus und jede Pflanze war gepflegt.

Beim Betreten des Hotels bot sich uns ein unglaublicher Anblick. Wow. Riesig und so edel. Ein wenig erinnerte es mich an das Hotel bei meinem damaligen China-Aufenthalt. Hier können wir es uns gut gehen lassen!

Singapore Day Transit

From the time we landed it was food, food and more food. We went from Singapore airport to the hotel Kai was at, arriving at 6am. Our daughter Kai came from Perth to Singapore so she could see us a day earlier. We were all so excited to see each other after 3 long months.
Kai had been finding out nice places to eat, so within 10 minutes of being in her hotel, it was off to Hong Lim hawkers centre for first breakfast, then followed by Chinatown complex food court for second breakfast. As we were so early, Kai was only third in the queue to order char kwey teow. By the time it was seven in the morning, the line was 10 people deep and getting longer. Really delicious.
Then after running some errands, I met up with my old college friends for more eating at Serangoon Garden Foodcourt. I then rejoined Kai and Ruby for Indian lunch with nieces.
Finally Japanese feast with Ruby's sister's family. I think we might have put back all the weight we lost in Europe.

HeroRats & Flug nach Singapur

Das letzte mal in Kambodscha aufgewacht....

Nach dem Zmorge gings mit dem Tuktuk zu APOPO. Eine Organisation, die Landminen & Co. entschärft und Flächen für die lokale Bevölkerung wieder gefahrlos nutzbar macht. (Im 2022 sind bereits 10 Leute wegen Landminen in Kambodscha ums Leben gekommen!)

Das macht die Organisation hauptsächlich mit Ratten 🐀 da diese zu leicht sind, um den Zünder der Minen auszulösen.
Toll und eindrücklich!

Am Nachnittag stiegen wir dann ins Flugzeug (Boeing 737) in Richtung Singapur. Mit einer Stunde Zeitverschiebung sind wit gelandet.
Schon der Flughafen ist sehr grün gestaltet, genau so wie danach die Stadt! 🌴🌸🪴
Wir übernachtem im Coliving direkt über einen Einkaufszentrum! 😅

Eine Runde um den "Block" gehörte natürlich auch dazu 😉Read more
