    Seoul / Tokyo

    September 26, 2017 in South Korea ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

    Guten Morgen Seoul! 🤣

    December 16, 2018 in South Korea ⋅ ☁️ 1 °C

Our last stop in South Korea was Incheon. We wished we had given ourselves a bit more time in Korea, since after speaking to people who lived here and our enjoyable time in Seoul it seems like there is so much to do. 6 days around the Capital City wasn’t enough, let alone the rest of South Korea.

We picked up a bit of winter clothing while were in Seoul to help make the weather more bearable, but using public transport with multiple bus transfers to get to Incheon proved difficult as we looked like packed mules.

We visited a market that is popular for it’s fried chicken, and you could see why. Although amongst the delicious food in South Korea you’ll also find other items on the menu which aren’t quite as desirable including dog meat, sannakji (live octopus), and salted fermented crab. Most countries we’ve been to have their own unique delicacies and Korea is no exception.

We managed to make it to Incheon’s Chinatown for sunset. The views here were pretty good as it looked out over Incheon’s port. The international port was established in 1883. Business seems like it’s booming here as it is currently one of the fastest growing commercial and business hubs in northern Asia.

Korea is also known for their Korean BBQ, you’ll also find many Korean BBQ places back home in NZ. Although we didn’t manage to get to a restaurant in South Korea to experience this we did try to re-invent this back at our accommodation, i feel like this was a success.
