Reiziger Love this, and it brings it back so many memories. One of the things we enjoyed about getting up early was walking through a city like Lisbon or Porto before they woke up. Our first day was over 30 km and almost 100°. The shorter day sounds wonderful! Have a good rest tonight!

Be sure to carry plenty of water on the way to Santarem. There is a long stretch of 16 km through farmland without water or places to rest. Try to stay at Hostel Santarem (host Mario). It's a great albergue and Santarem is a beautiful town with much to see. We had a rest day there. [Paul McLaughlin]
