    Travelling to Plymouth

September 6, 2017 in the United Kingdom

After leaving Glastonbury we drove up onto the Dartmoor Moors stopping for " Cream Tea "at Widecombe-in-the-Moor .....their version of our Devonshire Tea. We also got served real leaf tea, which is a nice treat for us after getting tea bags all through the tour....
The Moors are very desolate, wild ponies, lambs and cattle roving through there.
We arrived in Plymouth in time for our optional cruise of the Plymouth Harbour and we were treated to Blue Skies.....Plymouth is where the Pilgrim Fathers left from to embark on their journeys around the world. It is also home to a huge Naval Base.Read more

    Cardiff to Bath

September 6, 2017 in the United Kingdom

This am we crossed the long Severn River and travelled to the Georgian town of Bath, the home of the famous Roman Baths, that is supposed to have therapeutic remedies. I don't think I would have liked to bathe in there, we spent 1.5hrs looking around the town. Beautiful architecture, quaint streets.

    Day 2 in Plymouth

September 6, 2017 in the United Kingdom

Today we did a sightseeing drive across to Cornwall to the little seaside village of Looe. Another village of small quaint streets. Had coffee then strolled around down to the beach. We had sunshine and warm weather.
We returned to Plymouth to wander around the quay area. We are very taken with the little villages.
We have partaken of an rhubarb crunch and strawberry clotted cream, ice creams...very delicious I must say.
We are going to walk down to the quay tonight for fish and chips.

    Glastonbury

September 6, 2017 in the United Kingdom

We travelled here after leaving Bath...this is a very alternative town, a bit like our Nimbin. We have been having light showers today...not a lot of blue skies these last few days. We drove through a village called Streets, where we saw a huge distribution centre of CLARKE's shoes. It started as a little family business of a Quaker family and still going strong.
