On se retrouve à Ikebukuro, dans le centre commercial Sunshine City. Si vous vous rappelez bien, c'est le centre commercial dans lequel j'étais allé au tout début de mon voyage (en mai).
Cette fois, la raison de ma visite était autre: un nouveau "gashapon store" a ouvert. Et pas n'importe lequel: Gashapon Odyssey 🤩
En tant que collectionneur de ces petites capsules surprises, je voulais au moins y aller une fois.
Comme je pouvais m'y attendre, celui-ci est immense: on y trouve des centaines de gashapon 🥲
Mais pas seulement. Après avoir passé l'entrée, on découvre un mini musée qui présente l'évolution des prix obtenu dans les gashapon, depuis leur création à nos jours.
Ensuite, on arrive devant une sorte de gouvernail (qui ressemble à celui d'un navire) positionné devant un grand écran.
Vous l'aurez peut-être deviné, il s'agit d'un gashapon: le gouvernail faisant office de poignée. Ce gashapon un peu spécial fonctionne comme un mini jeu vidéo, d'où la présence de l'écran géant.
La performance en jeu conditionne le lot que l'on obtient. Le gouvernail peut aller à droite ou à gauche, permettant d'interagir en fonction de ce qui s'affiche à l'écran. Un gashapon unique en son genre, peut-être le prototype de futures machines 🤔
J'ai tenté l'expérience, même si celle-ci est je l'avoue assez coûteuse (1000¥), vous la retrouverez en vidéo. Les instructions, bien qu'en japonais, sont plutôt faciles à suivre.
Gashapon Odyssey propose un nombre assez impressionnant de machines, avec diverses séries: manga, mignon, barré ou simplement des objets de collection. Il y en a pour tous les goûts, je recommande donc l'endroit si vous êtes en quête d'un souvenir, ou bien si vous êtes joueur 😁

We're once again in Ikebukuro, in the Sunshine City mall. If you remember, this is the mall I went to at the very beginning of my trip (in May).
This time, I went there with a different goal: a new "gashapon store" has recently opened. And not just any store, a particular one: Gashapon Odyssey 🤩
As a collector of these surprise capsules, I wanted at least to go there once.
As expected, this store is huge: there are hundreds of gashapon there 🥲
But that's not the only thing you can find there. Behind the entrance, there is a small museum displaying the evolution of the prizes you can get in gashapon, from the date of their creation to these days.
Then, there is some sort of rudder (looks like that of a ship), in front of a large screen.
As you might have guessed, this is also a gashapon: the rudder acts as a handle. This special gashapon works like a video game, hence the presence of the big screen.
Your performance in the video game determines which prize you get. The rudder can go right or left, allowing you to interact with what's on the screen. A unique gashapon, perhaps the prototype of future machines 🤔
I tried it for the overall experience, even if it is a bit expensive (1000¥). You can have a look at the footage to have a better idea of what I'm talking about. The game instructions, although in Japanese, are rather easy to follow.
Gashapon Odyssey offers a rather impressive number of machines, in various categories : manga, cute, fun or simply collectible items. There is something for everyone, so I recommend it if you are looking for a souvenir, or if you like random games 😁

今日はガシャポンについて話したい！
実は池袋には新しいガシャポンデパートができた。🥳
なんか気になったから、そこに行くと思って。
「サンシャインシティ」ってマールの「ガシャポン オデッセイ」は普通のガシャポンじゃない。色んなガシャポンがあるけど、どれだけじゃない。
そこは、ちっちゃいムジアムがあるし、他のタイプのガシャポンもある 😮
ムジアムのエリアには、昔から今までのガシャポンの物が紹介された。
ムジアムの後ろに、ビデオゲームみたいガシャポンが見える。他のガシャポンと比べてもっと高いけど結構違う。
1000円を入れて、画面には、ガシャポンのミニゲームを説明してから、ビデオゲームをして、そのゲームの結果によって、アイテムをもらう☺️
高かったけど、楽しそうだからそのゲームをした。その時は、ヴィデオを撮った。是非見て下さいね。

Yomiuri Land theme park

Coucou tout le monde ! 🤗
On se retrouve (après une très longue pause, désolé 🙇) pour une petite journée au parc d'attractions Yomiuri Land (よみうりランド) situé à Tokyo, à environ 1 heure en train depuis Shinjuku.
Vous connaissez peut-être déjà les parcs d'attractions les plus célèbres du Japon : Tokyo Disney Resort, Tokyo DisneySea et Universal Studio Japan notamment.
Mais, et Yomiuri Land alors ? 🤔
Eh bien, il s'agit d'un parc d'attractions familial un peu plus modeste, mais aussi plus abordable : 1800 ¥ pour l'entrée simple (soit environ 12 € ) ou 5800 ¥ (38 €) pour un accès illimité aux attractions.
Comparativement, les autres parcs mentionnés précédemment coûtent généralement entre 7000 ¥ et 8000 ¥ (~45 €).
À l'intérieur, on trouve un total de 8 zones distinctes, et un téléphérique permet d'admirer une partie du parc depuis les hauteurs.
De jour cependant, la décoration n'est pas le point fort du parc 😅
Malheureusement je n'ai pas profité du parc dans les meilleures conditions : en journée on était sur une ambiance de fête foraine sans grande particularité. Et à cette période, la zone aquatique était fermée 🙁
Mais en fait c'était surtout ma faute. 😅
Car le meilleur moment pour le visiter, c'est en été (pour un accès aux attractions aquatiques) et SURTOUT lors de l'événement "Jewellumination".
Pendant cet événement l'ensemble du parc est illuminé à la nuit tombée, suivant les différentes couleur de joyaux (rubis, saphirs, émeraudes, etc.), transformant complètement l'ambiance ! 😲
On a alors un paysage coloré, et les photos valent le détour (allez-y, faites une recherche sur le net 😉)
On peut par exemple se promener dans un tunnel fait de LED, pour se retrouver alors entouré d'un arc-en-ciel lumineux 🌈
Si vous prévoyez de visiter Tokyo à l'automne ou en hiver, je vous encourage vivement à réserver vos billets, vous ne le regretterez pas 😁
PS : Je tiens à m'excuser sincèrement pour la longue attente depuis mon dernier article ! J'ai pris une pause afin de vivre pleinement ce voyage et m'ouvrir à un maximum d'opportunités, mais je n'ai jamais perdu de vue ce blog et j'ai pris de nombreuses photos de mes aventures pour les articles qui vont venir.
Le voyage étant terminé, je peux maintenant me consacrer à la rédaction 💪

We meet again (after a very long break, sorry 🙇) for a relaxing day at the Yomiuri Land amusement park (よみうりランド) located in Tokyo, about 1 hour by train from Shinjuku.
You may already be familiar with Japan's most famous theme parks: Tokyo Disney Resort, Tokyo DisneySea and Universal Studio Japan among others.
But what about Yomiuri Land? 🤔
Well, this is a slightly more modest theme park aimed at families, but it is also more affordable: ¥1800 for entrance fee (~ €12 ) or ¥5800 (€38) for unlimited access to attractions.
By comparison, the other parks mentioned above generally cost between ¥7000 and ¥8000 (~€45).
Inside the park, there are a total of 8 distinct zones, and you can take a ropeway to see some of them from the heights.
During daytime the park ornaments are not what makes it shine 😅
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy the park in the best conditions: during the day, the atmosphere was that of a funfair, nothing special about it. And at that time, the aquatic area was closed 🙁
But it was mostly my fault. 😅
Indeed, the best time to visit Yomiuri Land is in summer (to have access to the water attractions) and ESPECIALLY during the "Jewellumination" event.
During this event the whole park is illuminated at nightfall, taking the the colors of jewels (rubies, sapphires, emeralds, etc.). The atmosphere changes drasticaly ! 😲
It's a colorful landscape, and the pictures are definitely worth seeing (go ahead, search the net 😉).
For example, you can walk through a tunnel made of LEDs, to find yourself surrounded by a luminous rainbow 🌈
If you're planning to visit Tokyo in autumn or winter, Yomiuri Land tickets are recommanded, you won't regret it 😁
PS: I'd like to sincerely apologize for the long wait since my last post! I took a break in order to experience this trip to its fullest and to be open to as many opportunities as possible. But I never lost sight of this blog and took lots of photos of my adventures for the articles to come.
Now that the trip is over, I can finally get back to writing 💪

みんな、よみうりランド行った事がある？
ディズニーシーとUSJ知っていたけどよみうりランドは別の遊園地と思う。
もっと安くて小さい所だからね。
行ったとき楽しかったけどタイミングがちょっと悪かった。
9月に行ったけどおすすめ時期は夏とイベントの時だ。
夏にはアクアエリアが開く。暑いとき水が気持ちいいでしょう☀💦😌
よみうりランドのイベントといえば、ジュエルミネーションだよ。
ジュエルミネーションと言うイベントは夜のイルミネーションのイベントだ。
春と冬にそのイベントが起ってるとき、よみうりランドの8つエリアがレインボー色になる🌈
ネットで「ジュエルミネーション」を調べると別の遊園地になる事はびっくりしたよ！すごく綺麗 😲
もし春と冬東京に来たら、是非よみうりランドに行ってみて下さいね😁

COVID-19 strikes back

Aujourd'hui ça sera plus une anecdote de voyage qu'un article, car j'ai assez peu de photos (vous comprendrez pourquoi 😂).
Suite au parc d'attraction Yomiuri Land, j'ai passé les jours suivants à Tokyo avec mes amis.
Je devais bientôt partir pour la ville de Nagoya, mais un évènement indésirable (bien que prévisible) se produit.
COVID-19, le retour 😱
Ça ne m'avait manqué du tout, mais après plusieurs mois de voyage, il était normal de le revoir pointer son nez.
J'habitais à ce moment dans une sharehouse proche de la station Senkawa (la même qu'à mon arrivée en mai). Qui dit sharehouse, dit vie en communauté: salon, cuisine, douche et toilettes partagés.
Malheureusement, l'un d'entre nous a attrapé le virus, et a mis un peu trop de temps à s'isoler, contaminants au passage quelques uns d'entre nous.
Nous étions 15 au total, et jour après jour, le nombre de cas augmentait: et on rayait les noms sur un tableau ☠️
Nous communiquions sur un groupe de discussion Line (une application de messagerie en ligne semblable à Messenger ou encore WhatsApp) pour être informé tout en évitant les contacts.
Tout nouveau contaminé devait s'isoler dans sa chambre en attendant la mise en quarantaine dans un hôtel dédié. Les autres pouvaient sortir, mais avec précaution 😷
Puis fut le moment du test antigénique 🧪
À cet instant j'étais assez inquiet car être positif signifiait s'isoler à Tokyo plusieurs semaines et saboter mon voyage à Nagoya 🥺
Heureusement, les 3 tests que j'ai fait sur plusieurs jours ont tous été négatifs et j'ai pu quitter la sharehouse sans problème 😁
Au moment de partir, il restait 2 cas sains sur les 15, moi compris 😱

Today, it will be more of a travel anecdote than an article, as I have very few photos (you'll understand why 😂).
After visiting Yomiuri Land amusement park, I spent the following days in Tokyo with my friends.
I was about to depart soon for Nagoya, but an unwanted (though predictable) event occurred.
COVID-19 stroke again 😱
I hadn't missed it at all, but after several months of traveling, it was only natural to see it appear at some point.
At that time, I was living in a sharehouse near Senkawa station (the same one I stayed at in May). Life in a sharehouse means shared areas: shared living room, kitchen, shower, and toilet.
Unfortunately, one of us contracted the virus and took a little too long to isolate, inadvertently infecting some of us along the way.
We were a total of 15, and day by day, the number of cases increased, and we were crossing names off on a board ☠️
We talked through a Line group chat (an online messaging app similar to Messenger or WhatsApp) to stay updated while avoiding physical contact.
Newly infected person had to isolate in their room while waiting to be quarantined in a dedicated hotel. The rest of us could go out, but with caution 😷
Then came antigen testing 🧪
At that moment, I was quite worried because testing positive meant isolating in Tokyo for several weeks and ruining my trip to Nagoya 🥺
Fortunately for me, all 3 tests I took over several days came back negative, and I was able to leave the sharehouse without any issues 😁
The day I left, we were 2 healthy people remaining out of 15, myself included 😱

コロナの話だよ！😂
よみうりランドの後はまだ東京に住んでいた。５月の同じシェアハウスだった。
もうすぐ名古屋に行くつもりだったけど、シェアハウスのルームメイトがコロナウイルスに感染してしまった。
次の日コロナウイルスの感染者が増え始めた。で、だんだん悪くなっちゃった。😷
私もコロナウイルス抗原検査キット３つ使った。幸い、毎回陰性だった。🥲
シェアハウスの中には１５人けど私が名古屋に行く時、２人だけ残った。😱
