This trip started with 30 minutes of sleep followed by a mad dash to the airport at 2am. 4 carseats, 4 suitcases, 2 baby beds, 2 baby carriers, 2 travel booster seats, 2 umbrella strollers, 60 diapers, 3 packs of baby wipes and a roll of trash bags. 🥴 we made it to Toronto with Lexa having a diaper blow out on the plane in the carseat followed by an epic melt down in the airport. Could not find a bathroom so had to change her in the hall with her flipping all over the floor screaming. 🥂 Cheers to a great start.Läs mer

Where did we stay?

We stayed in Canmore which is a small town about 15 minutes south east of Banff. The drive to Canmore from Calgary where the airport is located took a little over an hour. I’d recommend getting a car on Turo or through the airport to make the most out of the trip but you can take a shuttle from the airport to Canmore or Banff. Some nice mountain views open up as you head towards Canmore. The winter olympics of 1988 were held here. You can see the ski jump slopes as you drive in.Läs mer

We didn’t let the rain stop us we ventured out and with the help of the Guide Along app we were able to see some awesome mountains and a bear 🐻!!!

Mountain views and the lakes are blue

We used a tour through viator to get us into the most sought after locations in Banff. Why are the lakes an ice blue color? As a glacier moves, it grinds down rock to a fine powder like flour that is suspended in the melted ice that forms the lake below. This fine powder absorbs the colors in the light spectrum except in the blue green range where it is caused to scatter. These are reflected back causing the water to appear bright blue.
