Got up and took the scooter out today. Decided to go see some waterfalls, unfortunately because there has been so little rain they were fairly unspectacular, in fact the second was dry!

The first waterfall was phaeng waterfall and was a bit of a climb to get there and it was hot! As we were climbing the path there was a rustle and what looked like a green branch springing back- but it was not a branch- it was a snake!! It shot off pretty quickly though!

After climbing to the top and taking some photos we went back to the scooter to make our way to paradise falls. On the way we saw some elephants feeding before taking people on a trek- was a bit sad as they were tied with a chain to their feet! We saw a few of these on our scooter, huge gorgeous animals but don't like seeing them chained up!

We then managed to circle the island on coast road without meaning to, we only realised when we ended back at our beach! But then tried again and went north to salad beach where there is a good diving resort.

We signed up for our advanced certificate in a couple of days time, apparently you will definitely see bull sharks! After a swim and sunbathing we made our way back to the bungalow.

Shit head- still winning but bens making a comeback! 12-10.

Watched a beautiful sunset again from the bungalow.

More mosquitoes here then any where else we've been. Normally I am the one they go for but in seemed today was Ben's turn!

Then we got ready and went to the full moon party at hat rin.

It was actually better to start off with than I thought it would be! Huge sound system in the beach with all different music playing but good enough systems not to be able to her 2 different songs at the same time. They sell drinks in buckets! You buy one and they poor half a litre of spirits of your choice in and a mixer of your choice! Lethal- we obviously shared them, but you saw people walking down all holding them and even some with bigger buckets that must of had a litre in them!

Day glow seemed to be the fashion of choice, so I don't think me and Ben fit in as both wearing black! And we both didn't want the body paint people were piling on! So I bought some glow in the dark glasses! Ben got attacked by a beer seller and who stuck a transfer tattoo on his arm- he was not impressed, i thought it very funny, doesn't look like it will be easy to come off either!

We wandered up and down the beach several times looking at the different parties and joining in! It was lovely seeing the moon sparkle on the sea. There were fire dancers and fireworks.

We tended to prefer the more chilled out bars on either end of the beach where you could sit overlooking the beach and watch everyone.

It was so busy and they say the October full moon is the quietest all year!

It started raining in the early hours of the morning- but only for a few minutes but it was heavy!

It was a late night in the end. It was definitely an experience but don't think I would go again! By the time we left unfortunately the beach had bottles all over it and boys weeing into the sea so we felt it was definitely time to go!

Both feeling a little delicate today and thankfully it's cloudy!!

Been for a swim, arranged the next part of our travels, read and not a lot else!

I think this is the first lazy day we've had now in over 3weeks and it was lovely!

Went for a walk before dinner and then watched a film on the iPad.

Started pouring, the monsoon has definitely arrived here now!

Should be nice and rested for our dives tomorrow!

Monsoon is here, black clouds this morning.

Got up early a picked up at 7.15am to go to the dive centre.

We had a cockney dive master called dave who was really nice and funny.

We had a large slow rocking boat out to sail rock- which is just a rock in the middle of the ocean. The journey was a little much for some but Ben and I seemed to avoid the sea sickness- for now anyway!

First we did our fish identifying adventure dive for our advanced.

We jumped in and it was a bit choppy so quickly descended. It was amazing, the most fish we have seen and they were much bigger than previous dives. The groupers and angel fish were 3 times the size if what we've seen previously.

There were big schools of barracudas also. But the highlight of the dive was huge bull sharks!! They were massive, 3-4 metres long and there were a few of them, they came quite close but did not seemed phased by us at all!

Lunch on board- unfortunately Ben now started to feel a bit sick! Then back in the water for our second dive- multilevel adventure dive, to pass this part we had to plan our dive on board ourselves rather than being guided.

Again the fish were numerous and again we saw the bull sharks- this time the water was not a clear so they suddenly appeared from nowhere and came even closer this time! Was a bit eerie down there! It makes you feel very small when they come close!

Such a good experience and can not wait for tomorrow's dives now!

Storm this evening, lots of lightening out to see, sat and watched it whilst having some dinner.

    29. november 2012, Malaysia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Another early morning! Weather seems better today and the sea was much calmer- much to Ben's relief!

Sail rock again, out first dive was our deep dive- went to 29metres today- was quite dark and murky down there! Then back shallower, looking at the fish and bull sharks again - saw two together and then one taking a chunk out of a fish!

Then a rest in the boat and a very early lunch and back into the water, this was more of a fun dive as Autumn (the American girl in our group) was learning to use the camera and we had already done our boat diving theory.

This time we saw a moray eel. Then the scariest thing happened- we had seen a bull shark swim past us quite close- it was about 4 metres long and then it turned and started swimming straight towards me and Ben- both of us were so scared- I think my heart stopped! I grabbed Ben's arm and then strangely we both started to calmly swim upwards and it swam underneath us!! It was very close- within 2 metres, the instructor thought our reaction was funny! But he did say the shark was obviously inquisitive about us, and that is an amazing experience that not many divers have- agree but never want that experience again, thank you!!

We had one more dive after this but back in the harbour- navigation using compasses. The visibility was awful, less than 1m, so was scary as would lose one and another easily and end up having to surface to find each other but we did it.

We are now certified advanced PADI divers!

Very tired after all that diving so early night!

Got the scooter again today as decided as our last day to see a bit more of the island. Also bens flippers yesterday were a bit too tight so he is now without skin on most of his toes is unable to walk very far (ben wrote the last bit, he has a few blisters) He looks like he got some weird infection all over his feet (because he has applied loads of plasters!)

We headed to the north of the island to a beach called Mae haad beach. This is a narrow piece of sand connecting the mainland to a little island, it's was lovely to see but unfortunately there seemed to be a lot of rubbish in the beach! We think everything washes up their after it rains.

We had a back and shoulder massage on the beach- and this one I really enjoyed! It was lovely!

After a quick dip in the sea and dry off we hoped back on the scooter and headed east to coral bay.

When we got to the beach there was only one other couple there and was a pretty little bay. The weather was nice but there was some clouds- which was a welcome relief when sunbathing!

There was a little beach bar just off the beach, they had loads of friendly dogs- all different sizes and a massive pig! It was huge and very inquisitive.

When we were sunbathed out- which actually was quite quickly, we went back to our bungalow for showers and change. Then took the scooter down to the night market for dinner

We had pad Thai and octopus and chicken skewers, they were really good! They had loads of different looking fruits and veg there, including giant peas in a pod and giant durian fruits which are apparently so smelly when cut open they are banned in Singapore transport stations!

When we came back to our bungalow a dog followed us back to the porch and would not go, repeatedly banging his tail on the window. He sat guarding our door most of the night!

There was a thunderstorm tonight too, hope it clear up for our travels on the boat tomorrow!

    3. december 2012, Malaysia ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Well the monsoon has now definitely started! The rain was the heaviest I've ever seen and did not look if it was going to stop all day!

We packed up our stuff, put on our fetching waterproofs and prepared ourselves for a run for it to get in the taxi to the port.

My poncho is a particularly fetching yellow plastic number, but it does cover me and my bags.

We were a little concerned about sea sickness so we picked up some tablets on the way.

We need not have bothered as the boat was very still, and the tablets made us drowsy so we fell asleep for the first couple of hours.

The ride was beautiful- through Ang Thong National park.

After the boat came a 2 hour bus to the train station. We got to the train station 4 hours before our train was due and there was very little to do there. So we basically sat in a coffee shop for several hours, then went to the station and there was a delay of an hour an a half- so watched a film on the iPad while we waited.

Eventually the train came and think we were the last station of the night as everyone was already in their bunks apart from us, so we got in our opposite bunks and tried to sleep.

Well it was not the best nights sleep I've ever had, but it was okay. Thank goodness for our silk sleepers though as was some hairs on bens bed so nice to have something to wrap up in!

Train was loud and bumpy but managed a few hours and got to Bangkok around 11am.

Then a quick taxi to the airport for our flight to chiang mai.

It was a very long journey in the end! 29 hours of travelling- don't know why we are quite as tired as we are- as we napped in the boat and the bus and the train and the plane!

Hostel is nice- biggest bed so far, bens feet don't go over the edge for the first time! Honesty bar downstairs and helpful with suggestions on where to go.

Had a stroll around and got our bearings.

We had street food tonight and was a record costing- 2 egg noodles with roast pork and soup for............ £1.20! And was lovely and not fried for a change. Also a really good banana and chocolate pancake for pudding, 25p!

    7. december 2012, Malaysia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Bit of a cultural morning, went and visited 3 of chiang mai's most famous budist temples. They were beautiful, lots of gold leaf, Buddhas, flowers and decorations. There were many monks around, one in complete meditation.

At one of the temples a lady was selling little birds to set free, with them you make a wish as the birds are blessed. I did this but not sure if these birds are not just trained to return to fly back to her!

The temples were in the old town. Which is a square area surrounded by a wall and a moat. We are also staying in this area.

So after our cultural morning we decided to head to the newer part of town. We walked for what seemed like hours towards the river, it was the hottest day so far!

We walked through china town with hundreds of stalls selling everything you can think of, when we got to the river we had a look round at the shops and stopped for a disappointing lunch at a cafe.

After this we decided to look in an art gallery- it had sculptures made by local university art students, we also met a 'history teacher' who told us where good street food and tailors were- however after a Skype call with Rebecca later that afternoon and a look on the Internet it looks like this is a common scam to get tourists into their shops so glad we didn't fall for it!

In the art cafe next door we had the most amazing ice coffees ever, so nice we took a photo of them- and they tasted better than they looked.

After a tuc tuc back to the hostel, we had a quick change and decided to head back to the newer side of town where the night bazaar was for the evening.

After a lovely BBQed red snapper for dinner from street vendor. We then had a quick look round the thousands I stalls that had been erected in the last hour or so! You really could get anything here, but the majority seemed to be fake goods- jewellery/bags/t shirts.

Went to the rasta cafe as there was a live band on- unfortunately we were the only ones there, the band were not very good and playing 60s covers which we were not expecting so left after one drink.

In the way back to he hostel we stopped in the rooftop bar- at home I'm not sure if this would pass and health and safety/building guidelines!! But it was lovely to be up high overlooking the old town walls!

When we got back to our room- Ben sat in the bed and it broke the frame!! One too many pad Thai's perhaps!

    9. december 2012, Malaysia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Had the most amazing day today! Loved every second of it.

Started early with breakfast and pick up to go to the elephant nature park. This is a sanctuary for previously abused or abandoned elephants. They do not 'work' the elephants there, so no trekking/ riding on them but you spend the whole day looking after them and learning about Asian elephants and how they are treated in Thailand.

When we got there if was a gorgeous site- 200 acres- lush green grass surrounded by hills covered with jungle and a river running through the middle. There are 33 elephants there and our guide knew all their names and history and told us all about them. Each elephant had a man, called a mahout, to look after them and control them if needed.

We started with feeding, firstly a couple of female elephants that were inseparable. One of them had broke her back with her previous owner after being forced to mate with a much bigger male. When she got to the park, the other female elephant took to her straight away, they now will not be separated and if the disabled elephant ever is startled or cries the other will rush to her aide. They were happy to be fed- you can tell as they flap their ears when they are happy and they let you stand right next to them and stroke them- their skin is very tough- an inch thick but also very sensitive so they feel insect bites!

After we fed those two we then fed a family- 3 adult females and 1 young girl and 1 young boy. They eat watermelon, bananas and pumpkin- preferring the sweet fruit first! They will refuse the pumpkin if they see banana or watermelon available! There are 2 adolescent males in the sanctuary, but they were kept at a distance today and apart as they had been 'naughty'.

Feeding time was finished so we went to visit the new baby elephant- 10 days old! Much hairier than the adults and tiny, she was so cute. She is kept in a pen with her mother for the first 6 months as they are unsure how the other elephants might respond to her, so wait till she is stronger and bigger.

We met the vet and learned lots about their teeth and illnesses they can get.

Lunch was great, a vegetarian buffet, rice noodles and vegetables and lots of it!

Then bathing the elephants! This was so much fun- throwing buckets of water over them, whilst they filled their trunks and showered themselves. We scrubbed them too with brushes to remove any ticks and when we were done they went straight into the mud pit to cover themselves- they use mud as sun cream.

They then showed us a video about the abuse that happens it was really sad. Domestic Elephants in Thailand have the same protection as cattle and chickens as they are classed as livestock meaning killing or bad treatment of them goes unpunished.

The majority of working elephants still go through a tradition called 'the crush' which is hundreds of years old and is designed to crush their spirit so they become obedient workers. They are forced into a wooden cage and beaten and starved of food and sleep for 7 days until they respond how the owners want them to, it was horrible to watch.

The sanctuary also cares for up to 300 stray dogs and one of these gave everyone a surprise when he leapt at the projector screen at the sight of another dog, apparently he has been doing this for years and he always makes sure he is in the room when the film is being played, in high season its three times a day!

There was a little quiz afterwards- in which we won a bag!

Time for another feeding, stroking the elephants before we left. It was a really really good day!

Went to 'flight of the gibbon' in the morning. Was about an hour outside of chiang mai. It was so much fun! Zip lines and platforms in the jungle above the canopy, so miles up in the air! You are always attached to something though, so no danger of falling.

Whilst you were going round there was information about the jungle- plants/birds/trees and you also saw a family of gibbons! They did a good job of entertaining us, swinging around the trees.

The funniest part if the tour was in the longest zip line- 800metres. Ben went before me, while he was going the guide said to me 'he's not going fast enough, I think he will get stuck' and sure enough he did! He did a boris. Ben says he almost made it to the other side but not quite and then went backwards so he was back right in the middle of the zipline- and it was ridiculously high up. Ben says he felt all the colour drain from his face! But then the guide in the other side shimmied out and pull him back over, took a while though, would not have liked it myself!

We had a few really nice people in our group and chatted to them most of the day.

Saw another snake in the rainforest too- this one was white!

After the zip lines we had lunch and they gave us a suggestions questionnaire which was called 'please complain'.

Then they took us to a lovely waterfall- but it was a bit if a climb up to get to the top! But it was worth it.

So it had been a fun day and then they took us back to our hotel where we had time to shower and change before being picked up for our evening thai cooking lesson.

They first took us to the market showing us all the different herbs and vegetables. We then had a look around ourselves- there was fried crickets and pink eggs!

We made 4 dishes each- a soup, noodle dish, curry and side dish.

The soups were gorgeous but definitely on the spicy side, the noodles were good too but the curries were definitely the best! We made them from scratch, starting with bashing the paste. I made a green Thai curry and Ben made a massaman curry. Think they were the best we have tasted since being here! Blowing my own trumpet a bit maybe! I used 15 chillies in my green curry paste!

We had a really good time and there were 4 other couples with us, who were all really nice and we had lots of fun together.

At the end the cooking teacher gave us each a certificate and a cook book with all the recipes in so will definitely try making it again!

Got to Bangkok about lunch time, checked into our posh hotel, the last of Ben's hotel points!

Wanted to go to the grand palace and reclining buddha but was told the king was visiting them today so were closed and would be unable to get into that area of Bangkok.

So we were at a loss of what to do with ourselves! We decided to walk around the area our hotel was in. There was not much to see- a lot of malls and hotels!

We went to one mall, Ben got his hair cut while he was doing that I decided to have a pedicure. With my pedicure you got something called a heel scrub, this actually turned out to be a razor blade on a little handle thing, with which they 'shaved' your heels! Scared me to begin with, but worked very well! Not sure it would be allowed back home though!

After this we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon at the hotel as tired from walking around, so we went to the gym for a run instead!

The strangest thing happened whilst at the gym, a boy I went to school with that I haven't seen since I was 18 got on the running machine next to me! He now works in Bangkok and goes to the gym at the hotel. It's a small world!

After this we went to do what we do best and sunbathed and swam in the hotel pool!

For dinner we went to a restaurant called 'cabbages and condoms' (thanks for the recommendation sue). Having first accidentally ventured into the red light district! Had a lovely Thai meal and were given condoms instead of after dinner mints!

We heard there was a music festival called lush on that evening so as had had a couple of cocktails decided to go to that.

It was held in an old train station surrounded by a retro/ vintage market. It had loads of live band and djs. Was a late night!

Little lay in this morning with heavy heads from last night and then over to the mall for breakfast, ended up getting completely lost in it, which was not too bad as the temperature outside was 40 degrees!

After this took the sky train down to the river and got on a boat cruise. The boats took us down the river passed wo arun, wo phat, the grand palace and then through the canals to the floating market.

The river was turbulent, rocking the boat and the lady in front of us got soaked from a big splash!

The boat was not the most comfortable and was so loud with lots if fumes!Had a headache by the end but did see a lot.

The canals were flanked both sides by houses on stilts and 'bus stops' for river taxis. Lots of the houses looked as if they were about to collapse! There were children swimming in the river and lots of fishermen, both looked dangerous as the river was full of boats. The river was full of fish coming up to the surface.

We were dropped at the grand palace which unfortunately was closed so we did not get to see the emerald Buddha. But we did go to wo phat and see the reclining Buddha.

Then we took a tuc tuc to the golden mount and onto a boat on the canal back to the hotel.

For dinner we decided to go to the mall MBK as recommended in the lonely planet. The food court is good- they give you a card and you go to the different counters- Thai,Indian, American, Greek, Chinese.... And order what you would like and the price is put on your card, you then pay for everything at the end.

Very early plane from Bangkok! We flew into Phuket and then got a bus transfer to the pier. Then onto a boat. The boat took about 2hours.

It started to rain when we were in the boat but that did not ruin the gorgeous views of phi phi ley on the way in.

The sun came out when we landed in phi phi village which was good because we had arrived early and our taxi boat was not going for another 2hours. So we had lunch and wandered around the village.

Phi phi is beautiful, unfortunately though it looks like tourism is spoiling it- sooo many boats in the bay!

We were staying at tokho beach which is only reachable by boat.

We were staying in a bamboo bungalow on stilts which was charming but very basic.

We had a snorkel next but the weather had turned again and was very cloudy and starting to rain again. There is a coral reef just by our beach so there were loads of fish to see.

Then there were huge black clouds- almost a perfect line coming in from sea, bringing thunder and lightening with them. We watched it from our balcony.

Had dinner at the resort. Unfortunately then realised the bar was next to our bungalow, so not the greatest nights sleep.

Not the best night sleep, unfortunatle a rowdy party in the bar next to us!

Both a bit groggy in the morning. Did not help either that I got bitten by a big red ant- it really hurt! Ben had a bird poo on him when we were having breakfast and it was his last clean t shirt- this actually cheered me up!

The beach that our bungalow is on its own very secluded and lovely white sandy beach so we spent the day sunbathing and swimming.

We also went snorkelling as there is a reef just off the shore. Saw quite a few fish. Unfortunately in the afternoon the tide went really far out so put stop to any more swimming!

Suddenly it clouded over and there was a thunderstorm again which we watched from our balcony, playing some more cards (18-13 to me!)so we could not do the walk to the view point we planned, instead we rushed down to the restaurant for dinner again.

The weather cleared up and gave us plenty of opportunity to watch the hundreds of crabs on the beach- was mesmerising!

When we got back to our bungalow something if flew into my arm and I screamed- Ben thought I was over exaggerating and then he saw what it was!

This bug was massive- the size of his fist! Wish I'd taken a photo but was too scared! It had a huge body and big black round head with wings! Think it hurt itself flying in to my arm (must be the muscles) as was not moving so Ben helped it outside- after a lot of squirming and girlish behaviour!!

Got up early for a trip to phi phi ley the smaller island and the setting of 'the beach' film.

Firstly went to the famous Maya bay. Was the most gorgeous beach- would have been perfect but ruined by the 100 boats and 300 people on the beach! Crystal clear water and soft white sand. Was lovely had a swim and snorkel and then back on the long boat to the other side of the island for another snorkel- there were loads of fish there to see.

After this we stopped on the way back to the main island to see some monkeys. There was a big sign saying 'do not feed the wildlife' but all the tourist were giving them bread for photo opportunities, Ben and I refused to do it, but we were the only ones!

We decided to go diving that afternoon after seeing how clear the waters were when snorkelling. So got back on the long boat- which was the slowest one ever back to bungalows to get money and then go back to the village again to go diving.

We went on 2 dives that afternoon and we saw loads! The best things were a turtle feeding, black tip reef sharks and a gorgeous leopard shark resting on the bottom. The leopard shark is as described with leopard print on his body, we got really close to it and sat on the bottom of the ocean next to it until it decided to swim away, it was beautiful, much friendlier looking than the bull sharks!

As we had missed the hotels boat back we decided to have diner in phi phi village and get a taxi boat back later (which are ridiculously expensive!).

After all the activities of the day we were pretty tired though and did not go back late.

It was quite scarey though getting a long boat in the dark- there were no lights on the boat either, and then there was also a lightening storm! But got back safe and sound.

Did not have to leave until 12.30 from the bungalow so had a swim and an hour or two in the sun in the morning watching the busy beach crabs.

Went to get our bags packed and guess who's back- the massive flying bug from the other day, and again laying on the floor not moving! Ben was a bit better at getting rid of this one, mainly because it was on the balcony so he just shut the door!

Hot today, probably the hottest day so far!

We got the slow long boat to phi phi village and had lunch before the next boat to Phuket.

The Phuket boat took a couple if hours then the transfer to the airport took ages- the traffic was horrendous! By the time we got to the airport we only had an hour ir so before check in- thought we were going to be there hours early, do caught up on Internet and had some dinner.

Plane was uneventful and got to Singapore just after midnight, took a taxi to wink hostel.

Given a couple dorm room but it was so loud- think we may have been next to generator or something so changed to another dorm that was single beds only.

It's ultra modern, the dorms are made up of 'pods' with a bed, light and side table, when you put your card in to open the dorm door your pod will light up- but only yours! You have a locker under your bed that you card controls too! The new room was much better, finally to sleep after 3am.

Good night sleep and no one new joined us in the dorm overnight. It was cloudy out and actually felt nice and cool!

Went for a walk to see some of the sights of Singapore. Started from our hostel in Chinatown and from there walked towards Clarke quay on the Singapore river, an area full of bars and restaurants. Looked expensive! Lots if restaurants had tanks full of lobsters and turbot outside to look at.

Walking further down the river to the marina we saw the prestigious Fullerton hotel and the F1 racecourse and stands on the marina edge. From the marina you got a brilliant view of the sky scrapers of Singapore as well as the marina bay sands hotel, which is 3 skyscrapers and what looks like a boat balancing on top of them! In front of this was also the art science museum.

We decided to go and look round the museum as Ben put it 'I like art and you like science so we should'. There was a photography exhibition on which was interesting and the building was beautiful.

In front of the marina bay sands hotel was a mall that we went to cool off in as the weather had changed to sunny and humid!

We had lunch outside though and it was really strange as there were Christmas songs playing and it was baking hot! The mall also had Christmas trees and decorations- does not feel like Christmas is coming at all to us.

We then went to the garden by the bay which had been constructed this year on reclaimed land on the marina, it was lovely and green and had a huge lake, it also had these huge tree like structures made from metal with greenery growing on the sides of them. There were also some fountains which were nice and cooling on hot feet!

We walked past all the big hotels, mandarin oriental and malls- went in to cool down!

Then we went to ruffles- where the Singapore sling was invented! We thought we did not like them, but they were so good we had 2 each! The setting was lovely, ruffles looked like an old colonial building with shutters over the windows.
They gave you peanuts with a warning to keep them covered or the pigeons will attack. Unfortunately a couple across from us did not heed this warning and the pigeons attacked!

There was a scuffle between the pigeons with one domineering pigeon warning the others away when there was a whole peanut on the floor, however it was too big for the pigeons to eat. Ben thought he would do a good deed and step on the peanut so all the pigeons could have a bit. Unfortunately this caused an awful series of events! The pigeons swarmed and started fighting over the crumbs- it was like an all out war, 2 pigeons in particular started pecking each others necks and wings- it was gruesome!

That evening we decided to go to little India for dinner. There were lots of restaurants and jewellery shops (very gold gold!) lining the streets.

After a walk we went to a restaurant famous for its fish head curries! We decided on a mixed tandoori and rice and naan to share.

Just before we were served I jokingly said to Ben- 'oh I can see it, it's got a massive fish head on top' thinking this would scare him- which it did, then the dish arrived and Ben started to dish himself a plate only to find the first thing he picked was a fish head! We weren't sure how to eat it, so we left it and ate the rest!

Early start to get the 6 hour train from Singapore to kL, we went for a superior seat, which means AC in the carriage which unfortunately was not too effective as the doors were constantly open! So a sweaty uncomfortable ride! Canteen had very little choice so we shared a cold greasy stir fried noodle dish with a cold fried egg on top! Yuck!

When we got to KL we stored our bags at the station and went into KL centre and kept cool in the malls for a couple of hours and then collected our bags and on to the airport.

We were lovely and relaxed before our flight however the passengers next to us had a screaming toddler who did not stop screaming, not much sleep for us then on an overnight plane!

Arrived in Sydney in the morning to Rebecca and Ben waiting for us in arrivals with a helium balloon! Was really nice to see familiar faces!

We went back to their house in redfern and met one of bens friends Carl who was visiting. We popped over the road to a food market- it's there every Saturday, and had lots of tasters and a lovely bacon and egg bap for breakfast. It was only then we realised how tired we were so me and Ben went for a nap while Ben G took his friend to bondi.

When we were refreshed we headed to Newtown and a bar called the corridor on kings street which was lovely with an outdoor seating area. After a few drinks we had a quick change at home and caught a taxi to surry hills.

Firstly we went to a bar that was very well hidden- the entrance looked
