    Western Australia

    July 12, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

It's been 500 km of straight road, an occasional tree, and a couple of beautiful lookouts since we left the town yesterday, we're alf way through this nothingness, and we're finally just past the border to Western Australia. Diposing our vegetabels, setting the clock backwards, new signs of animals we may meet on the road, all that stuff of crossing a border.
The day began with a brilliant place for whale watching, having quite a few whales and a calve chilling in the ocean. And then continued just as yesterday. Driving. Although this part was closer to the coastline of Great Australian Bight and it's beautiful cliff, worthy of a few stops on the way.

    Reise mit dem Food Truck

    July 4, 2019 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 16 °C

    Madura campsite

    February 5, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Its a top spot... except.. the really really really loud generator chugged on all night long.... there was a terrible smell of the septic wafting in and out. Tracy and bluey whom we met in fowlers bay arrived and came over for a few drinks.. they are lovely people. Had quite a few belly laughs with them... he even gave me some of his home grown...!!!!! Hmmmmmm interesting. We did have as i have now told the cook had there FAMOUS hot chips and gravy for $8 enough to feed 2 adults and 1 child... true... so we got 2 and shared them with our new friends. Bluey has tatts all over himself even his head. Tracy said only his bum is clean skin... he is the nicest bloke. On the road again just before 8 all showered fresh and ready for another adventure today.Read more

    End of the road

    July 14, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 6 °C

LUCKILY the van turned on this morning. And luckily we had no more issues with the driving. And just like that we reached a town again. With houses and traffic and people and a grocery store. And water! We had planned it pretty good, but we were running low now. Store was closed, it's Sunday, but tomorrow we'll be back on fresh vegetables.Read more

    Eucla

    January 18, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

You go along the plains and I was surprised that there is quite a bit of trees and shrubbery. There are quite a few places to stop for fuel and food along the way but they aren't very nice. You go along the escarpment and suddenly you dip down to the coast and you come to Eucla! There was a lovely stopping place here with a nice restaurant and pool area. We camped on the coastal escarpment overlooking the sea which was really nice. When we left in the morning it was raining and we didn't get a good view from the lookout but it didn't last long and the next bit of road along the cliffs was really nice.Read more

    Madura Roadhouse

    April 7, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 4 °C

One nght stop here after driving for a few hours. Extremely hot day travelling across the Nullarbor so decided on a powered site to run the aircon. What a relief! From here decided on getting to Norseman as our next destination via travelling on the longest straight road in Australia on the Eyre Highway.Read more
