    Victoria

    February 17 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Nice spot for lunch/smoko. Great overnighter only if you have your own water.

    Genoa Camping Ground

    February 12, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Great camp ground run by the small community of Genoa. Basically a free camp however, a donation for the upkeep of the camp ground is appreciated. Only 23km to Mallacoota which has a reputation for great fishing. Some pics of Mallacoota here.

    Genoa

    March 7, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

The campground at Genoa is one of the best we have stayed at. A great place to relax and enjoy the birds along the river. A short walk over the historic bridge and you are in the old town. Here there is a historic pub, the shop that was rebuilt in the 60's and the old service station.

There are are quite a few information signs around telling of the history of the area. It seems that once this was a thriving centre but like so many small towns seems to be doing it hard. If you travel this way, drop in and perhaps stay a night and enjoy a lovely area.Read more

    Genoa school museum

    March 8, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

The Genoa school had quite a long history. In the 1990's government closed many small schools, preferring to place young children on busses to larger schools with often long travel time each day. Genoa was dependent on forestry activities and once this was not using local town services, many small towns were no longer viable.Read more

    The scarecrow.

    March 8, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Ducks are messing up the dam. Dam ducks. This local farmer had hundreds of ducks making quite a mess of his dam. Water here is precious for cattle and other animals on the farm. Clyde the scarecrow has been employed to scare them off. Water hens don't seem as easily scared though.

  • Day63

    Genoa falls

    March 9, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

The steep pathway down to these falls was rewarded with some great scenery. The usually shy water dragons were not keen to keep us company, but with being very quiet and moving slowly we managed to catch them with zoo camera. Then of course was the Walford back up the track.
