      White Water World / Skypoint

      November 22, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

      WhiteWater World

      October 20, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Off to White Water World for the day. It looks like it could rain so hopefully it drizzles and scares the other people away so we can go on more slides quicker!!!!!

The park itself was super quiet which meant very little wait times, which was ideal for us. Got to go on all of the slides, going on many multiple times. The fave as always was the rip, which just hits the spot for both of us in terms of scary, dynamic, and fun. Our last turn made us get stuck and we had to push our way out hahaha.

Stopped for your typical water park grub for lunch. They have frozen cocktails here so Michael had to get the mango one and caught him mid "waterslide ken" selfie hahahaha !

Slides are amazing as always, but boy oh boy do I go down some of them fast! The racer I flew down so fast I grazed my leg because I caught too much air time!

We stopped for ice cream, and the lady gave us the biggest scoops (good coz they were expensive haha). I told Michael to make sure he didn't drop any, and then 5 seconds later... My one scoop dropped! Luckily I have quick reflexes (as we have learnt playing table tennis at the unit with the folks) and caught it 10cm off the ground hahahaha.

Barely any waits on anything and perfect weather. Overall, we did 30 slides across the day, which we worked out to be a slide every 12 minutes. Given that's 30 5 stories worth of flights of stairs, I feel that is a very solid effort, and great bang for buck (and for the butt hahaha)

      WhiteWater World!

      March 7, 2021 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

We're sliding it up at WhiteWater World today! Absolutely loving that there's hardly anyone here and we are barely having to wait to go on any slides. Temperature is awesome as well, not too hot! The slides are all fantastic here, having a blast. Heading into dreamworld for lunch, and gotta say, Dreamworld is looking very sad these days. Lots of construction, not much going on. Also getting really run down. Not many pics today as we are keeping the phones in lockers and enjoying the water fun!Read more

      White Water World

      October 14, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Our first theme park adventure was White Water World. Everyone was excited, Daniel’s girls ripped their dresses of and ran straight to a slide they missed out on last time, Lachlan was straight behind them, Brax suddenly realised how high up all the slides were.

After a few hours on the slides everyone was getting cold, so it was time to get dressed and head next door to Dreamworld.

      Dream World

      August 9, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Queensland and its theme parks. Fond childhood memories for many of us 30 or 40 somethings.
Things have changed over the last 20 or 30 years. Have I just aged? Died inside? Or is Queensland not quite the international premium holiday destination it once was.
As much as we have and still did enjoy ourselves, the same theme of time taking the gloss or polish off the Queensland Coast is plain. It's all a little of a shadow of its former glory, a little tired, a little run down, a little lacklustre. This theme is especially known and accepted among the theme parks.
Last year we got the kids through both Sea World and Movie World. Whilst the former was more than tired (and more like something out of the apocalypse), there were still faint sounds of a heartbeat and ICU treatment at Movie World.
After the recent deaths/ ride tragedies at Dream World I was under the impression it was probably now the front runner of the theme parks, and whilst this may be true, it's a close run affair..
Around half the rides were closed, haunted, or under maintenance. Access around the park was a little limited as well with many blocked paths. There were still plenty for the kids and they probably got on 5-6 rides they loved including the 'old time cars' (on a track) I went on at their age, some little planes, a ball-shooting area, little maze, tea cups and rocky boat.
I got on (my legs fit for once!) the two fastest thrill coasters - the Steel Taipan and Gold Coaster and Nat got on a 4D experience ride with Ryland.
The animals here were pretty good, (despite no advertised show times) we caught the Tiger show and saw dingoes, koalas, reptiles, crocs, cassowaries and bilbies. Axel particularly loved the Tigers.
For our last holiday dinner, we headed out to the Pancake Manor nearby the hotel. Great location (old church), terrible food. You can't win em all!
We spent the evening half packing.
Overall, we couldn't be much happier with how things went. The kids have been exceptionally well behaved all things considered, and have a bunch of experience and memories to take home with them.
