      Frisch geduscht 🌫️😶‍🌫️

      February 23 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

Also erstmal weiter zur Vergnügungsmeile. (Nicht so eine! 🚨👀)

      Niagara Fälle

      July 1, 2017 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

      Niagara Falls

      May 24, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

      Woooow 😯

On our second day in Toronto, we drove down to Niagara Falls which are definitely pretty impressive!

Although I‘m aware that it‘s a tourist attraction and a spot millions of visitors come each year, I was surprised by the „fun park vibe“ the surrounding has. Other than you might assume, Niagara Falls are between two cities (🇨🇦&🇺🇸) and not surrounded by pure nature. I can’t speak for the American side but as you walk into the main street right next to the falls in Canada, it’s full of lights, sounds, arcades and other attractions.

At the end of the day we had to say goodbye to sweet Maple (our 🚗), as we‘ll get on a plane in a few days over to Calgary.

A perfect day: #1 Niagara Falls

      July 3, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

Early today we started our trip. By GO-train we went to Burlington where our friend Scott picked us up. An amazing day began!
First we drove to Niagara Falls, happily noticing that there weren’t too many people around that early. We walked by the water watching this wonder of nature - around 3,160 tons of water flowing down Niagara Falls per second! The weather was incredible - sunny, but still not too warm. After that we took a boat, taking us very closer the falls and giving us an breathtaking (and very wet) view of these big waterfalls. Niagara Falls are divided into different falls. The biggest and most stunning one is called “the Horseshoe” (because of its shape) and is part of the Canadian side of the falls. The smaller one is located on the US side of Lake Ontario, also stunning to see, but not as beautiful as the Canadian part!
After the refreshing trip and an absolutely unbelievable experience, we walked up Clifton Hill to see a blinking, loud and fun mixture of Las Vegas, a German carnival and an adventure park. Later Scott showed us around the town “Niagara-on-the-Lake”, a small touristic town very clean and beautiful with different trendy and chic shops and restaurant. We walked around and enjoyed the awesome weather. Before the next chapter of our perfect day should begin.... (to be continued).

      Niagara Falls

      August 11, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Did the boat, behind the falls walk, The Fury 4D movie, and a haunted house. They were both so scared they made me go first when in the haunted house. Mark said he kept his eyes closed most of the time. Max eventually put his arms around Mark's neck while walking behind him and nearly strangled Mark. You can tell from the photos how ridiculous I thought they were both being because they were so scared.Read more

      Skylon Tower

      August 25, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

Skylon Tower, 775 feet above the falls. Man that thing was tall and the wind was cold. Doug and I took the boys up the tower and then caught up with everyone else at Popeyes. They ate and then did the tower.

The falls used to recede 3 feet per year. They divert enough water from the falls that it now recedes only 1 foot per 10 years. The power of the water is so great now, I can't imagine it if it was at full capacity. God's creation is so awesome!

      Bromance???

      August 25, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 70 °F

So we did quite a bit of sitting, waiting on people to catch up or go to the bathroom. Doug and Eric started trying to stare at each other and make the other laugh first. Neither one was very good at it and a lot of giggling, yes giggling, ensured. Rachel called it a "bromance". It ended in a stare-down hug. 💓Read more

      Niagara falls

      August 25, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Left our small place in Syracuse for breakfast at macdonalds. After the food we drove to another outlet mall where i got some new jeans. When everyone was done looking we got in the car and drove to the Niagara falls. Crossed the border from USA to Canada since the falls are prettier on that side. Our hotel was on walking distance from the falls and it was amazing. We first did the 'behind the falls'. We stood on a lower viewing deck and could also walk in a tunnel with some open points behind the falls. After that we walked along the falls boulevard to the decks of the Hornblower. This is a boat we took into the horseshoe falls. Amazing.
We went back to the hotel to swim and got back in the evening again for the falls with light and the fireworks, those were pretty disappointing. But the lights were pretty though.

      Niagara falls

      August 28, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

      Niagara Falls

      November 3, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 5 °C

The world famous falls... one of the natural wonders. Impressive on its own, one has to remember that only about 30% of the water flows over the falls, the rest is used for power generation by the US and Canada.
Goat island is between the horseshoe falls and the American falls. It was named after, you guessed it a goat. Farmers used to graze their animals on the island since there was no need for fences.
