Bangkok, Thailand

We arrived at Bangkok after a long day of travel yesterday. Went out exploring the city today! Southeast Asia continues to surprise me. I have the preconceived notions of what a city or country will Czytaj więcej
All the temples

There are SO many temples in Bangkok. A crazy amount. We only went to a few, but dang, so ornate and pretty.
We take water taxi’s a lot here. Just the easiest and cheapest way to get around. While Czytaj więcej
Pigs, parks, lizards & Chinatown

Today we headed out by water taxi again - saw our friendly piggies in the street again. Five of them this time. This time up and wandering.

Last day in Bangkok

We got a late start on our last day in Bangkok today. First stop was a water taxi to a temple we had already been to during the day, Wat Arun, but wanted to see it at night. It was absolutely Czytaj więcej
Travel day

We flew from Bangkok to Chiang Mai today. It’s a city in the far north of Thailand in/near the mountains. It is completely different here than Bangkok. Feels like island life, without the islands. Czytaj więcej
Elephants!!

Elephants have a long history in Thailand. Unfortunately, that history includes hundreds if not thousands of years of terrible abuse from infancy to old age. They are captured, chained, beaten in a Czytaj więcej
Kitties and pups!

Inside the Elephant nature park there was also a cat and dog rescue. The cats (2000 of them!) are kept in multiple “cat kingdoms” - outdoor fenced beautiful habitats made just for them. Visitors Czytaj więcej
Loy Krathong festival

We were sad to have to leave the elephants, but made it back to Chiang Mai. Tonight starts their annual Full moon festival. A krathong is a small floating container and they are usually made 100% of Czytaj więcej
Hot air balloons … FINALLY!

We watched the hot air balloons in Cappadocia, Turkey and knew we wanted to get on one. We made plans for Egypt and then the weather let us down … twice. But today was the day! We finally made it on Czytaj więcej
Yi Peng

When we began planning this trip, we threw Chiang Mai on the list of places to go because we saw they had a lantern festival here. Then we made the trip around being here on November 9th to be part of Czytaj więcej
Back to island life

We flew out of Chiang Mai and headed to Phuket which is located on the southwest tip of Thailand. Going to slow down and just enjoy this time with Jordan and this area for a few weeks as our time Czytaj więcej
Phuket

Been a relaxing couple days filled with beaches, pools, foot massages and food. Really nice to just sit back and do nothing for a bit.
Phi Phi Islands

We took a tour out to the Phi Phi Islands (pronounced Pee Pee). Basically it was just island hopping in a basic catamaran for 7 hours. It was interesting and really glad I did it (but can say now, Czytaj więcej

Diving again

We heading back out diving one last time together, near the Phi Phi islands. It was a beautiful, calm day on the ocean. We did three dives - a wreck, pinnacle and wall - and went very deep on al Czytaj więcej
The Big Buddha

Jordan and I got airplane tattoos back in Amsterdam months ago. I’ve been planning on adding more to it when my trip was complete - so I did it today and finished it up.

I love sunsets!

Headed north today on Phuket to get closer to the airport for an early morning flight in the morning.

Cambodia, here we come

Flew from Phuket to Bangkok, then Bangkok to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Long day, but fun.

Angkor Wat, Cambodia

We got up really early this morning to see the sunrise on Angkor Wat. It wasn’t as nice as we had hoped. The weather didn’t cooperate so we didn’t have as beautiful of colors as a possible Czytaj więcej
Our last day together

After 247 days, today was the last full day Jordan and I have together on this trip. Sadly, tomorrow (Thanksgiving day) we part ways. I’m heading back to the states, and she is continuing her Czytaj więcej
Tokyo

Jordan and I parted ways at the Bangkok airport this morning. A very tearful goodbye. Over the months we’ve traveled together we’ve grown quite close, so was very difficult for both of us to say Czytaj więcej
International Travel done

Landing in Vancouver, Canada today my International portion of my trip is now completed. I’m really sad to have it be over. I’m definitely experiencing quite a bit of culture shock already, as Czytaj więcej
Seattle!

When I got married I moved from Portland to the Seattle area - we lived there about 15 years before returning back to Oregon. We loved our time up in Washington and have a ton of great memories from Czytaj więcej
Boise

Popped over from Seattle to see some friends I’ve known forever in Boise, Idaho! Had a good time relaxing, hanging out, watching grandkids riding lesson, watching World Cup matches, hot tubbing and Czytaj więcej
Portland

From Boise I took off and went to Portland, Oregon. I haven’t been back there since October 2019. I had planned on coming back more often but then Covid happened and … travel was put on hold.
