      Puerto Nariño

      Mi próximo destino amazónico fue ir a quedarme en Casa Gregorio cerca de puerto Nariño. Este es un hospedaje en donde te dan todas las comidas y te arman un montón de actividades, a lo all inclusive versión amazonas. Es un poco pricy, pero la verdad remil valió la pena.
      En el primer día me tomé el barco de las 7 am hacia Puerto Nariño, donde me buscó una lancha y me llevó (junto a dos turistas mas del mismo hospedaje) al lago Tatapoto, un lago dentro del amazonas donde simplemente chilleamos al sol. Después cuando nos dio frío volvimos a Puerto Nariño y visitamos el museo del pueblo, donde nos mostraron todas las especies de peces y animales de la zona, super lindo y bien armado. Después almorzamos y fuimos a un mirador desde donde se ve todo el pueblo. Lo lindo de Puerto Nariño es que no tiene transportes motorizados (en tierra), es decir, no hay autos ni motos y por ende todo está super lindo y limpio. Puerto Nariño me pareció hermoso, se los super recomiendo.
      Cuando terminamos la ida al mirador, nos compraron un helado y nos dirigimos hacia el hospedaje, que quedaba en una comunidad indígena. El pueblo se llamaba: San Martin de Amacayacu (Amaca = Hamaca, Yacu = aguas negras y aguas que corren, es decir, el río de las hamacas. Nombrado así por una leyenda local).       Tag 2 im Amazonas

      Zersch simmer üsem Tschungel retour gluffä. Wills idä Nacht vorher grägnet het, sind yyseri Turnschuäh nit diä beschtii Üsrüschtig gsi. 🙈
      Nacher simmer mim Boot üf Puerto Nariño gfahrä. Yysers Gepäck isch da drbii üfem Dach vum Boot transportiert wordä und zun Glick nit im Amazonas glandet. Und denn hemmer yys üfä Wäg gmacht, Delfinä z beobachtä. Miär sind erfolgrich gsi, das so viil umä gha het. Bis zum iidunkle simmer nu midem Böötli ufem Amazonas umegfahre und hends eifach gnosse😍 Und wie immer heds de ganz Tag Poulet und Riis und fritierti Banane gäh zässe.Read more

      Puerto Nariño (Amazon) Day 1

      Had a 630am pickup to catch our 7am public transportation river boat from leticia to puerto nariña. 2 hour boat ride down the amazon and then greeted by Brehiner who will be our dedicated tour guide the next few days.

      This part of the amazon is interesting because the borders of cokombia, peru and brazil are all a few kilometers from each other. In puerto nariño, colombia is on one side of the amazon river. and peru is on the orher side of the river.

      Shortly after arriving, we got onto a smaller boat with our guide and a couple from germany/austria and headed to the peru side of the river where we would spend the next 5 hours in the peruvian jungle.

      Right away our guides found sloths in the trees. Most were really high up and hard to see but they found some much closer. Plus a number of vultures, exotic frogs, toucan, and some really strange looking bugs and plants. Plus crazy jungle trees. I can't describe how hot and humid that walk was. We were completely drenched just walking around.

      Had lunch in a remote tiny village and then back to our boat and back to colombia where Ramona and Tobias departed back to leticia. We had 90 minutes to lie down and try to cool off. I have never enjoyed a cold shower so much in my life! I actually took one cold shower, lay down for a bit and then took a second cold shower before our next excursion.

      Around 4pm, we were back in the boat, outfitted with rain gear and heading down the amazon to find a good spot for piranha fishing!

      We used sausage as bait and the piranha were incredibly adept at taking the bait off the hook without being able to feel. After a while i got a good system of slowly moving my hook so i could feel a bit of resistance and then pull hard if so. 7 different times i pulled a piranha out of the water but they fell off my hook each time. No one actually caught one but it was a really fun experience.

      Back in town, met up with our guide for some beers and eventually a very sound sleep to the sound of very loud frogs and bugs chirping away.      Read more

      Nachts erwacht der Dschungel zum Leben

      Am Abend vom zweiten Tag haben wir einen Nightwalk durch den Dschungel gemacht. Sobald es dunkel wird, kommen viele Tierchen wie Grillen, Giftfrösche und Skorpione aus ihren Verstecken hervor. Wir haben sogar Taranteln gesehen🕷😱 Beeindruckend war die Lautstärke der ganzen Tiergeräusche, z.B. von den Grillen.Read more

      Affen und Aras

      Day 10–13

      Puerto Nariño, het nieuwe Leticia

      January 26 in Colombia ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

      Puerto Nariño is een plaatsje van ongeveer 8.000 bewoners, en is alleen per boot te bereiken. En om daar zo snel mogelijk te komen hebben we gekozen voor een privéboot. De Amazone is hier inmiddels al wel 200 meter breed. Best al wel breed, maar niks vergeleken bij de 40 kilometer breedte die de Amazone op sommige plekken tijdens de regentijd kan krijgen. Onderweg passeren we een tiental lokale gemeenschappen. Behendig laverend langs voorbij stromende drijvende bomen en planten komen we bijna 2 uur later aan.

      We hebben ons dit keer verwent met een wat luxere lodge met glas en airco om weer wat op krachten te komen (merk toch dat we ouder worden ;-) Wat ze er bij de reservering niet vertelden is dat er een paar 100 meter naast de hut een generator draaide voor een hoger gelegen school. Gelukkig waren we er vooral in het weekeinde en dan draait hij niet. En we zitten op een prachtige locatie. Tropische vogels, aapjes en ander gespuis volop aanwezig.

      Het is een paar honderd meter lopen door sompig land naar een pad dat doet denken aan de yellow brick road uit de Wizzard of Ozz, Het blijkt dat alle wegen in het dorp hiervan zijn gemaakt. Deze zijn 6 jaar geleden aangelegd door de bewoners. Bijzonder is dat er in Puerto Nariño op een Ambulance en 2 trekkers na, geen gemotoriseerd vervoer is. Alls gebeurt lopend. De Ambulance zagen we later ergens staan met een pak bladeren op het dak. De mensen leven hier kennelijk erg gezond.

      En zo ziet het er ook uit. Alles lijkt hier gemoedelijk te gaan. Ontspannen mensen wandelen heen en weer, maken een praatje en verhandelen etenswaar. De straten en huizen zijn netjes, er ligt geen afval. Alles wordt netjes gerecycled. Plastic drinkflessen voor water zijn verbannen. Inplaats daarvan kan je op straat vers drinkwater tappen in je eigen flessen. En hoewel er een mobiel netwerk is, zie je hier mensen toch minder met hun mobiel bezig. Precies de omgeving waar we behoefte aan hebben.

      We zijn ook nog een dag opgetrokken met een lokale gids. Erg vriendelijke man, die trots zijn diploma ‘coördinator’ liet zien, en conciërge van het dorp is. Hij leek bijna iedereen te kennen. Als natuurgids is hij minder uit de verf gekomen. Alles wat vliegt heette ‘vogel’. En de tocht door het oerwoud was een soort Hoge Veluwe, met handig een bordje gespijkerd op de boom met de naam. Maar Arno en ik hebben ook de grootste vis van onze leven gezien! En we hebben we een onvergetelijk tocht met zijn boot gemaakt door bossen die permanent onder water staan.      Read more

      Puerto Nariño (Amazon) - Day 2

      Three more people joined our tour in the morning. Charlie and Mike from Belgium and Jack from Australia.

      Started the day looking for dolphins. Strangely enough, the amazon river has 2 types of dolphins, grey and pink. We got really lucky and saw so many grey dolphins jumping out of the water. And a bunch of pink ones breaching the surface of the water

      After that, boated over to a sandbar, and swam in the amazon for 30 minutes or so. Just enough to scorch everyone's shoulders but the water was so warm and refreshing that it was hard to think of anything else - like sunscreen apparently!

      Spent the early afternoon having lunch and getting to know the guys over some beers. Then started our colombia side jungle hike. First half of the hike was around dusk, in a much denser jungle than the peru side. The second half of the hike was completely in the dark with our headlamps and flashlights.

      Our guide was amazing at finding all sorts of massive insects, including tarantulas. Plus some poison dart frogs and of course jack the Australian found a snake haha. So cliché. Most of the insects were the size of my hand.

      Once we got back, had a quick supper at the hotel and then off to a place for some beers together.      Read more

      Day 9

      Puerto Nariño - Day 3 / Bogota

      Started the morning walking 20 minutes to a large property to see the wild monkeys. Unfortunately the monkeys were somewhere else that day. But we did have fun feeding the macaws there and enjoying the beautiful estate overlooking the amazon river. For some reason the macaws didn't like Kris much cuz one bit him pretty good haha.

      After that went to the local museum which had great examples of all the wildlife in the area

      Our boat back to leticia was at 3, so we all had lunch and then sat at a bar near the river and had a few laughs until our boat came around. Pretty sure i will be visiting Mike and Charlie in belgium within the next year. Awesome guys.. we all got along famously right away. Jack was awesome too but australia is a fair wee bit further to reach. Hugs all around on departure.

      Had to wait 3 hours in leticia for our flight to bogota, so kris and i found a spot downtown for food and beer to kill a few hours

      We still had no hotel bookes yet for bogota and unfortunately we couldn't get our internet to work so we scrambled to book something at 10:30pm as we left the bogota airport. The place we booked with didn't allow checkins after 10pm, so we had a really difficult conversation on arrival at the hotel but eventually figured out an arrangement and we were no longer homeless yay

      Bounced around some nearby bars until we found 2 good ones that had great latin music that had everyone up and dancing (except us). And eventually headed home for the night. We were pretty tired.      Read more

      Puerto Nariño - Dschungellevel 3

      Nun gings noch tiefer in den Dschungel! 2h mit dem Boot entfernt, liegt das 1500-Seelendorf Puerto Nariño, weit ab von jeglicher westlicher Zivilisation. Regelmäßig verirren sich ein paar Touris hierher, die meisten mit Guide oder Tour von Leticia. Strom und Internet ist je nach Standort abwechselnd vorhanden. Die Ernährung besteht aus regionalem Anbauprodukten, Früchten, Wurzelknollen, Fisch, Reis, Bohnen, Kochbananen, Hühnchen und noch etwas mehr. Hier wächst irgendwo alles was man braucht, man muss nur wissen wie man es sich zubereitet.

      Im Ortskern ist eigentlich immer was los. Am Markt kann man sich versorgen und es wird Fussball gespielt, getanzt oder man sitzt einfach nur so zusammen. Wir erkundeten die Gegend via Boot und besuchten weitere Dörfer, badeten und beobachten hunderte von Flussdelfinen, Vögel und sogar Faultieren. Als Elena abreiste, zogen wir in eine Lodgia etwas außerhalb des Dorfes. Hier lebte man mitten im Dschungel und konnte nachts die Milchstrasse sehen.      Read more
