      On arrive la veille à moins d'une heure de Split. Spot face à la mer, canon, on se baigne un petit peu, mais il se met rapidement à pleuvoir 🌦️, donc retour au van.

      Rémi se lève tôt pour le lever du soleil. Lâchement abandonné par Flo trop bien emmitouflée dans le lit 🙄😅.

      Premier arrêt à Kastel Gomilica, un des nombreux lieux de tournage de Game of thrones, en Croatie.
      C'est là que se tenait le marché de Bravos dans la saison 5 🤩. On n'a pas vu John Snow, mais on reconnaît les décors.

      On reprend la route vers Split. On a failli visiter les ruines en hauteur de la ville, mais ce n'était pas bien noté, et puis la flemme aussi, donc on passe notre chemin 😅.

      Comme souvent, on galère à trouver une place (on a failli d'ailleurs rester coincer entre un mur et une voiture). Après moult essais, on tombe sur un parking un peu par hasard à moins de 15 min à pied. 👌

      La ville est blindée de monde, il fait assez chaud, mais on entame, quand même, un tour du centre-ville classé à l'UNESCO. Ce qui est assez fou, c'est que les rues à l'intérieur de la forteresse, sont en réalité le cœur du Palais Diocelin. On y retrouve un mix entre architecture romaine, égyptienne et grecque.

      On passe aussi rapidement dans les sous-sols de la ville. En réalité, on n'a vu que la partie blindée de boutiques de souvenirs. L'autre partie se visite dans le musée de la ville.

      On ressort sur le, très animé, port pour longer la promenade. On fait un détour pour manger une sorte de burger dans une galette et on repart rapidement pour finir le tour de la ville et récupérer le van. On a un bateau ⛴️ à prendre 😉.      Lue lisää

      Die Stadt mit einem Stadtkern, der schon 1700 Jahre überdauert. Natürlich nicht der gesamte Palast des Diokletian, aber dennoch beeindruckende Teile.
      Durch die schmalen hohen Gassen, läuft man auf Steinpflaster, wo schon so viele vor uns liefen, dass er immer frisch gewaschen aussieht.
      Die sehr ins Auge stehende Hafenpromenade lädt zum Schlendern und Verweilen und den großen Schiffen beim Ab- und Anlegen zuzusehen ein.
      Hier ließe es sich sicher ein paar Tage aushalten.      Lue lisää

      Split, Croatia

      We've spent five days in Split which is the largest city with the exception of the capital Zagreb. It's certainly the largest city on the coast. It's a beautiful one at that, featuring a large old town with the most notable landmark being Diocletians palace built in 350. The original palace (built for the Roman emperor Diocletian) encompasses about half of Splits old town. We saw the Palace, Bapistry (originally a Temple of Jupiter), Saint Domnius Cathedral. We also climbed the Saint Domnius Bell Tower to see beautiful views of the city.

      If you're into Game of Thrones, a few key scenes were shot in the old town here. Diocletians palace was used as a stand in for the Daenerys Targaryen liberated city of Meereen. The Diocletian's Cellars were used as the caves where Daenerys kept her dragons.

      Split was originally founded as a Greek colony and later brand the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. From there it was owned by the Byzantines, Venice, and Croatia. It was fought over by the Hungarian Empire, but apparently never conquered.      Lue lisää

      Erholung in Split

      Wir sind jetzt schon seit dem 6. in Split und haben uns sehr gut erholt, faul am Stand gelegen und waren Party machen.
      Die Altstadt besteht zur Hälfte aus einem Schloss aus dem 4. Jahrhundert was von den Römern erbaut wurde, über die Jahrhunderte wurden innerhalb der Mauern Wohnhäuser gebaut weshalb die Gassen sehr verwinkelt sind.
      In Split wurde auch ein Teil der Serie Game Of Thrones gedreht :)      Lue lisää

      Ein schöner Sonntag in Split

      Heute morgen nach dem Frühstück sind wir mit den Rädern in die Altstadt von Split gefahren und haben dort ein wenig gebummelt, gecacht und einen schönen sonnigen Sonntag verbracht.

      In Split ist man hinter jeder Häuserecke gespannt ob man dort schon mal war oder nicht. 😁

      Noch nie eine Stadt gesehen, wo die Gassen so eng und verwinkelt sind..

      Abends haben wir dann schön gegrillt und anschließend nochmal die Strand-Bar aufgesucht.

      Einen Cache haben wir hier auch noch versteckt, die sind hier nämlich Mangelware. 😕

      Mal sehen, ob er gepublished wird. 😊      Lue lisää

      Ein schöner Abschluss

      Der letzte Segeltag liegt nun hinter uns, und trotzdem gibt es noch ein paar Geschichten dazu ;)

      Obwohl eigentlich nur bis zur Mitte der Nacht angesagt, hat und die starke Bora auch heute noch durch den Tag begleitet. Und das hiess zuerst mal eine etwas unruhige Nacht. Um 6h erwache ich mal, und habe das Gefühl es riecht irgendwie nach Diesel 😬, komisch... die Tankstelle ist ja doch 100m weiter. Ok, der wind bläst genau in unsere Richtung. Aber auch das reicht nicht um im Schiff diesen Geruch zu verursachen. Ich stehe auf, es riecht auch im Salon, draussen aber nicht. Und im Wasser sind keine Diesel Spuren.
      Auch die Tankanzeige zeigt noch voll. Ich gehe zurück in die Koje, da ist der Geruch aber intensiver...
      ich wecke Ruth, sie liegt auf dem Diesel Tank, und den will ich prüfen. Alles gut. Ich öffne die Luken, lege mich hin. Da höre ich so ein blubbern... komisch also doch ein Leck im Diesel Tank. Das Geräusch führt mich aber zu den Batterien. Es sind drei Stück, die eine ist heisst, ja die kocht sogar. Da kam also der Geruch her und auch das „Tropfen“...

      Jetzt werden alle geweckt, Mina und Florence können im Salon weiterschlafen. Ich drehe mal den Hauptschalter für die Batterien. Es blubbert weiter 😬. Die Batterie hänge ich ab, es ist die eine Service Batterie. Die andere funktioniert noch und die Motor Batterie auch.

      Der Telefon-Elektriker bestätigt dass es so klappen sollte und auch ein älterer Franzose auf dem Steg meint wir können so den Weg nach Kastela machen. Anderthalb stunden später blubbert es nicht mehr... ich bin überrascht wie lange so eine Batterie kochen kann, wenn sie ausgeschaltet ist 😱.

      Das Schiff wird nun gelüftet, und wir machen einen Ausflug in den Stadtkern von Split. Eine sehr schöne Stadt über die wie eigentlich noch mehr geschichtliches erfahren möchten. Rundgang, Markt, Mittagessen und Lädele ... die 3-4 Stunden gehen schnell um und wir müssen zurück zum Schiff und nach Kastela.
      Vom Kap setzen wir ein letztes Mal die Segel, und schon bald liegen wir wieder im Hafen. Auch hier geht alles gut, ... das ist bei weitem nicht bei alles so 😬😬😬. Ein Skipper verfehlt sich so, dass eine Kollision mit einem anderen Boot nicht mehr abzuwenden ist.

      Jetzt noch packen, Apero, ein paar Kleider kaufen im Musto Shop 😉😊, Nachtessen, ... et voilà !

      Das waren tolle Ferien, mit schönen Erlebnisse, teilweise (sehr) viel Wind, aber auch unglaublich schöne Landschaften. Und trotz den kleinen Zwischenfällen, sind alle sehr zufrieden!      Lue lisää

      Our day began with a "quick" 30 minute walk at 0430 to make the three hour ferry from the island to Split. Our girls were actually quite spunky, but we did carry Mabel a bit to make it to the boat on time. This ferry was large with cushy couches, fresh cappuccino, croissants and picnic tables on the outside deck. Most of us fell back asleep during the ride.

      We arrived in Split and zipped over to the train station with our fingers crossed that we could get seats on the overnight train. Again, the system in Croatia/ The Balkans region is not very connected or updated so we could not do this online beforehand. Luckily, they had seats for us, otherwise we would have been hotel hunting.

      We got all our business done! Next we were off to explore. We had to kill roughly ten hours on foot with our packs and melty tired kiddos, so we tried to make it as fun as possible.

      We decided to go on a kid's semi-submarine tour on the Adriatic. We road down below in a cabin with large windows to see ocean life. I will say this was fun, but Vela Luka Island water was much more blue and clear than off the coast of Split. We saw many large schools of small fish, sea grass swaying in the water, large rocks and other random sea treasures.

      After lunch, we headed to find a playground and some shade because it was heating up quickly. The kids played, while we relaxed on a bench. The girls found a random pack of clean plastic cups that throughly entertained them. It's amazing when you do not have toys what can be exciting.

      A few hours later we lost our shade, so we headed to the store for snacks and then the beach. This beach was highly rated, but could not even compare to the beaches we just experienced. However, the girls still enjoyed every moment playing there. Mabel loved to build and getting covered in sand. The girls appreciated the length of the shallow waters. They could walk out about the length of a football field and still stand with ease.

      We had a few minor issues while in Split. Girls could not agree on ice cream (hard life right), our water platypus pouch busted in my bag with our laptop, Mabel screamed while getting cleaned off in the freezing showers (like I said pebbles are better) and I desperately needed to find bathroom with no luck. Don't worry, nobody died.

      We got cleaned up, the clouds rolled in bringing a cool breeze and we found yummy pizza. I also found a bathroom that cost me a Euro and it was so worth it!

      We started to head toward the train, but still had a couple hours to kill. Once we were able to begin boarding, we got settled in our sleeper cabin and then found out that we booked non-reclining seats with a stranger joining us by accident, instead of a sleeper cabin for just our family. Holy Cow! It was now approaching 2230 with everyone beyond melting point, since we were up so early and on foot all day. Seth went and bought sleeper cabin tickets right then. So so so so thankful that there was another sleeper cabin available and that Seth acted quickly. It was an interesting experience all together, but everyone slept very hard that night with a cool breeze coming in through the open windows and an early rising of 0600. Seth thoughtfully brought me a cappuccino, so I could see straight. Haha! Now for more adventures in Zagreb.      Lue lisää

      Alors déjà TW : je vais me plaindre

      Désolé pour le retard mais c’était laborieux
      Du coup hier on était encore à Zagreb on s’était fait un petit programme. D’abord la cathédrale, qui était fermée. Ensuite on voulait aller au musée de l’art Naïf, fermé. A la place on a fait le Hangover Museum où des gens racontaient leurs anecdotes de lendemain de soirée c’était pas mal. Apres on a mangé (pas là où on avait prévu parce que cette fois ci la cuisine n’était pas encore ouverte (il était 13h)) Donc on a mangé un grec qui était délicieux par contre
      Ensuite on avait aussi prévu d’aller au jardin botanique devinez quoi hahaha
      On a donc attendu 2h dans un parc sur un banc tres peu confortable parce qu’on avait plus rien à faire.
      On est allées boire un verre, manger, reboire un verre, récupérer nos bagages et direction la gare pour 3h d’attente
      J’ai fait du montage pendant que toute la population la plus louche de la ville s’arretait devant nous et nous dire jsp quoi, je me suis fait gueuler dessus par une vieille aux toilettes
      Apres on est allées attendre sur le quai y’avait plein de monde et le train avait 30min de retard pour changer hein
      Le train est arrivé on est montées dedans (à 1h30 et on devait arriver à 8h40)
      La nuit a été bien évidemment infâme puisque c’était pas un train de nuit avec des couchettes hein c’était un train normal et moi j’étais au milieu en plus haha c’était bref
      Au final on est arrivées avec 2h de retard à Split mais on est arrivées
      C’est tres joli y’a la mer on va se baigner on mérite je pense      Lue lisää

      repos à Split (pov ju)

      Hellooo
      Aujourd’hui journée tres chill à Split, c’est tres joli ! Fun fact: c’est un des lieux de tournages de Game Of Thrones (la cité de Mereen pour les connaisseurs)
      Donc on s’est baladées, on a mangé sur le chemin, on a check in à l’auberge et hop à la plage
      A la plage y’avait beaucoup de monde notemment des guetteurs de jeunes pour les ramener dans des soirées qui coûtent cher
      (Tout coûte un peu cher ici mais y’a le chant des cigales et la mer ça compense)
      On s’est meme pas baignées au final mais on est restées longtemps, Leila a dormi et moi j’ai lu un livre
      Apres ptite sieste, ptit repas, ptite biere etc etc on a croisé deux types qui ont dit que j’avais l’air d’etre la bad girl et Leila la good girl parce qu’elle ressemblait à Jésus tout en blanc bon.
      L’interraction sociale était un peu longue néanmoins assez drôle
      A Split y’a des artistes de rue partout vraiment tous les 5 metres y’a des gens qui font des trucs genre musique, acrobatie etc
      Y’a beaaaucoup de francais aussi
      Il fait tres chaud mais ca sera jamais pire que la nuit derniere
      Bye bye
      see u tomorrow (je commence un peu à maitriser la langue t’as vu les mots ils sortent tout seul maintenant c’est chiant) et y’aura des meilleures photos promis      Lue lisää
