    Pere Lachaise Cemetary

    November 13, 2016 in France ⋅ ☁️ 9 °C

Huge cemetary with over a million bodies in it. It averages over 3.5 million visitors a year. We didn't have much time to spend here, but we walked through it and looked at what we could from the path we needed to follow to get across it to the metro. Quite a few famous people buried here!Read more

    March 16, 2018 in France ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

I'm not cultured enough to recognize all the people who he mentioned have ended up here, but Chopin, Oscar Wilde, and Jim Morrison I do know. The memorials about French airlines crashes and WW2 losses were what spoke to me. Seeing the Mauthaussen Memorial took me back to walking through that concentration camp.
