      All Hopes:
      Every new day with my kids.

      An impulse of inner peace and serenity.

      I hope that life starts at the yellow end - and not on the blue one.

      "A doorway to hope" is what I thought when I first saw this painting. The door opens to my hopes. Thank you.

      My hope always to venture new!

      This beautiful painting reminds me to be always in my own center and never forget who I am.

      I want simply to keep registering my responses; it is a daily pleasure. This speaks to me of time, travel and destination. I hope it is a good one!

      This painting looks like the letter G turned on its side which is my dad's initial.

      I always believe there is hope, no matter how difficult it is.

      I hope that at the end every problem turns out to be good - like the bright yellow end in the picture.

      More heat among the people.

      The changing nature of our hopes. They start from the same place but they transform as time goes by. In these strong colors and shapes I see Hope, strength and courage.....as I fight my battle with cancer I hope to look at this painting every day.

      This spiral starts from cold colors, but after each turn they become warmer, to burst in the end into sunny, hopeful yellow. It is a reminder that one should keep going even if things look bad - it might get better around the corner. A cliche, but true.

      This is my window which opens to Hope with all those glowing colours of hope.

      This picture is for me like hope for the whole world.

      The ancient Greek meander - a symbol of infinity and unity - that has been usurped by dark forces, here is reclaimed to show colour, light and hope for a brighter future!

      May that path lead me to my home.

      My hope is: I hope I am lucky enough to win this as it would make a lovely twin for martins picture.

      I love art and when I paint I'm in my own little world. My hope is that I become a better artist !

      Nach nur 1 Stunde Fahrt haben wir unser nächstes Ziel erreicht, den Neusiedlersee. Der Stellplatz liegt direkt am See unmittelbar vor dem Strandbad. Grosser Stellplatz mit Strom und Wasser auf einer grossen Wiese mit Blick auf den See. Ein Wohnwagen und wir mit dem Womo sind die einzigen. Sehr übersichtlich, aber traumhaft schön.Read more

      Schloss Besichtigung Esterházy in Fertöd

      Eine weitläufige Schlossanlage. Wobei die Ungarn es mit der Instandhaltung nicht so genau nehmen. Die Nebengebäude sind einfach stillgelegt und verbrettert. Sehr schade. Dennoch zeigt ein Rundgang die Weitläufigkeit solchen Schlossparks mit angrenzenden Wäldern, wo bereits früher der ein oder andere Bock geschossen wurde.Read more

      Wonder why anyone ever leave Vienna! This was just the break we needed from all the somehow distant culture, we met so far. Despite their traffic which I still don't completely understand. But Budapest is another must-see before we go home to reality, so off we went.
      And the rain went with us. We were met by a wall of heat in a dark and yet beautifull city to the sound of thunder drowning the traffic noise. Unable to guess any words in this language we went shopping, and for the first time since we left Denmark we cooked our own dinner.      Read more

      Day 39: Budapest, Hungary

      Today we travelled a total of 5 hours by train (there and back) to go visit Budapest. When planning the trip, we originally wanted to stay there a few nights, but we opted for Austria instead. As the last train was at 7, we didn't have much time so we spent the day at the Széchenyi Thermal Baths and it was amazing.

      All three outdoor baths are at different temperatures, but the coldest is about 22 degrees Celsius so you can imagine how hot they are. One of them has a strong whirlpool that the minute you step into it, it drags you right in and the indoor baths have healing minerals.

      It's too bad we couldn't see more as we heard from so many people that it's such a unique city. Next time (and when I visit the amazing baths again).      Read more

      Stayed here for a month with our Grandparents in a little Village called Sokorópátka, a half hour drive from the city Györ. Quite country life was enjoyed here with delicious meals, beautiful weather, and day trips out to neighbouring cities and train rides, but also relaxation, games, riding bikes and walking around. Took a regional train out to Budapest for a day which was really awesome. The people are really lovely ;)Read more

      Back to Hungary with an awesome stopover in Vienna on the way. This time round we had another cool trip to Budapest, a new place called Esztergom, and a place called Sopron. These places all had amazing buildings, sights, and people. Sometimes went to church on Sundays and enjoyed Village life in Sokorópátka with hikes in the dangerous woods, a Bell Tower Tour in Györ, another trip to Vienna and more fun around the region.Read more

      Beter laat dan nooit

      De reis richting Boedapest, waar de dag afgesloten word met regen begint het s ochtends vroeg al weer volle bak zon.

      Geen ontbijt in het motel dus vroeg op snel opfrissen en lekker vroeg weg.
      Uitchecken was snel gedaan en spullen pakken was niet nodig alles lag al klaar om zo weer op de motor te klikken. Even over 9 start ik de motor en rijdt gelijk weg. De route was een beetje overhoop gegooid door dat de kaart van hongarijen niet in mijn pakket van de navigatie staat. Ach dan maar op de bonnefooi rijden. Binnen het uur werd de temperatuur al dusdanig hoog dat eigenlijk rijden al minder fijn werd, ik verander de navigatie en start de snelste route. Maak nog even snel een stop bij de benzine pomp om toch voor de zekerheid een vignet te halen en zo echt de snelste route kunnen nemen. Zo gezegd zo gedaan we draaien de snelweg op en vol gas door (90km pu) de rit ging verder heel makkelijk en voor ik het wist reed ik budapest binnen. De warmte was ondertussen niet meer te houden en we kozen er maar voor om wat regeltjes over het hoofd te zien om zo wat sneller door de drukte te kunnen rijden. Na een aantal zware file kilometers kom ik aan bij de slaap plek. Ik begin met af laden en steek me sleutel in me laatste koffer en in plaats van de koffer open te maken heb ik ineens de cilinder in mijn hand. Kut kut kut iets waar ik totaal geen zin in heb. Precies de koffer met natuurlijk al mijn kleding. Al bij al gelukkig wat gereedschap mee met Google YouTube en wat telefonische ondersteuning kom ik er achter hoe het systeem werkt en kan ik gaan pielen met een inbus sleutel om de koffer te openen. Na ruim een uur kutten springt eindelijk de koffer openen. Snel het slot er af schroeven en naar binnen.

      Na heerlijk gedoucht te hebben en afgekoeld te zijn had ik redelijke honger en ging ik maar op pad om de buurt te verkennen en eens ge kijken wat er te beleven is in de buurt.

      Al snel kwam ik op een plein met een winkel centrum, via tripadviser zie ik een restaurantje welke zeer goed aangeschreven staat. Ik neem maar plaats en binnen een paar tellen had ik een heerlijke koud biertje en het eten besteld. Als een van de eerste kwam ook het eten binnen een paar minuten door. Snel wat gegeten en heerlijk even gezeten. Toch nog maar even afkoelen en het winkel centrum in... Na lekker ijsje en wat rond gelopen te hebben ging het lampje uit en ben ik terug gelopen maar de hostel. Even lekker op bed liggen en bijkomen.
      Verder in de avond nog met Nienke afgesproken om gezellig een drankje te doen.

      Nienke wist wel een leuk barretje en al snel had ik de uitdaging om ergens door de onbekende straten richting het centrum te gaan. Als nog weinig energy en gelukkig gaf Google Maps mij een optie om een bolt te bestellen... de Hongaarse uber. Binnen 2 minuten stond de taxi voor me en bracht me naar de kroeg. Een reünie bar nog nooit zoiets gaaf gezien.

      Heerlijk een paar biertjes gedronken gezellig wat gekletst. De tijd vloog voorbij en met in mijn achterhoofd formule 1 morgen wou ik het niet te laat maken. Ja bier en gezelligheid maken dat niet makkelijk alvorens ik het wist werd het toch al weer laat en bestelde ik mijn taxi terug naar huis.      Read more
