Poznan and Wroclaw have a few things in common. Among other things, both cities were founded on an island in a river, both call this island Cathedral Island today, and both have a large market square in the middle, which surrounds their town hall in a ring.
What they don't have in common is that they are a rather lesser-known, but beautiful destination for excursions. In Posen's old town, the most striking thing is how run-down most of the houses are. The area around the above-mentioned market square would be nice. However, this is currently a large construction site, the entire square is being rebuilt. In general, large-scale construction sites can be found everywhere in the city. I see this as a positive sign: perhaps Poznan will one day develop into a "pearl on the Warta". But this day is not today. With a return trip to Berlin booked for tomorrow, and a hotel room that can no longer be cancelled, the question now is: What's next?Meer informatie
