    Zurück in Tel Aviv

    April 22, Eastern Mediterranean

Read more

    Mittelmeer 3

    October 31, Eastern Mediterranean

    Athen => Cypern

    October 14, Eastern Mediterranean

    2018-10-14 söndag

    May 4, Eastern Mediterranean

A quiet day today. Most people go to Olympia - the birthplace of the Olympic Games where they light the Olympic torch before every games, and also the temple of Zeus. As we visited this place several years ago we just stayed in the town of Katakolon and looked through the shops. They had some nice things from unique ceramic pieces, wooden and glass artworks and various sculptures and paintings, as well as the usual assortment of souvenirs.

Brad practised some artistic shots with his camera while a caught up on my blog, spoke to one of the boys who happened to be online at the time, and checked out some photos of Layla that May sent through. Overall, a relaxing day...a change from yet another 'old town'.

    Arabian Night

    April 22, Eastern Mediterranean

Tonight was Arabian night as we sail toward Valletta, Malta. I wore the dishdasha I picked up in Oman. Coffee in the sunroom will never be the same. Glenda says that these Arabic women are onto something. With the scarf you don’t have to spend time fixing your hair.

    Twisting by the Pool

    August 25, Eastern Mediterranean

A day at sea again, ship is full of new comers, it was us last week, weather is hot hot hot

So today the girls bit the bullet and joined the teens club, they had a table tennis tournament a water bomb fright and hang out in the “hideout” in the evening..... I think they enjoyed it however as they only communicate when it is absolutely necessary (need money a lift or food or clothes) then it is hard to know for sure.

So we set up camp on sun beds near the pool, only 4 needed as Lillian spends the whole day in the pool. Usual day of poolside games quizzes a paella demonstration (quite nice but not as good as mine)

In the afternoon Lillian had kids club

So it was the last dress up night so back to the room fairly early to shower and put on all the clobber, Cheryl got to wear her wedding dress for the 3rd time ! Me looking much like James Bond the girls like looking very glam, even Maisie finishing off her outfit with trainers !

We had booked the surf and turf restaurant on deck 11 an amazing meal of steak and lobster with enough side dishes to sink the ship, and it finished us off no deserts today !

    Lillian had spaghetti

Anyway after a grumpy moment from me as the girls wanted to rush the rest of their dinner to get to that evenings show that night I bit my lip and and they rushed off to reserve our seats and we all made it in time for the show based on the musicals. Which was spectacular as always

Mummy, Daddy and Lillian all in bed by just gone 10 it had been a relaxing but hot day which I think took it out of us, we don’t know what time the girls got back from their teens club but they certainly were not bright as a daisy the next morning...... sailing into the beautiful Santorini in the morning

    Pinnacles Lunch

    March 21, 2017, Eastern Mediterranean

What a special treat that was. As usual Peter arranged something completely different for the last ever pinnacles lunch, on board Legend of the seas.
Firstly we were issued with commemorative T-shirts, and had a group photo in the centrum, this was followed by an authentic Arabic buffet, prepared by one of the Egyptian chefs. We had this sitting outside on deck in a restricted area of the ship where passengers are not normally allowed, all while sailing down the Suez Canal.
It was a great meal with some fab wine and the whole experience added to the memorability of this the last cruise of this wonderful old ship. At least it's last cruise as Legend of the seas, as when she transfers to Thomson, she will be refitted and renamed Discovery 2.

    The Quest

    November 11, 2011, Eastern Mediterranean

We all took part in the Quest last night.
For those who don't know it's a crazy game show where a lot of drunks do strange things such as men wearing women's underwear etc.
    We won...woo hoo.
It was a great laugh (at the time) lol.
It was all filmed and will be shown on the cruise video, so I may regret taking my trousers off and wearing Drena's bra, which she took off at the table.
Later in the contest one woman from each team had to show the host her bra and as I was wearing Drena's as I said, she promptly lifted her blouse up to show him her bare boob's... As Kenny Everett would of said " It was all in the best possible taste " yeah right..... LOL

    The Lost Day

    November 12, 2011, Eastern Mediterranean

It all started two day's ago.
We went to the theatre with John and Drena to see the Rat Pack tribute group.
Sheila and I had seen them with Ken and Denise on the first leg of the cruise.
Sheila had ended up on stage with Dean Martin last time and she was adamant she was not getting on stage this time.... Yeah right!
As soon as he came by her she sprinted past him and was on the stage before him.... Lol... That may be a slight exaggeration but only a slight one.. Lol.
Anyway the upshot was we saw the guys in the bar on our way to bed and stopped for a quick chat, so Sheila could take in all the adulation from them.
They were telling her how she made the show that night etc, etc.
That was the first mistake, the second being staying for a quick drink with them and Simeon, the cruise director, who had joined us by this time.
The third and on my part the most fatal mistake was me drinking another bottle of red wine.... Hence the title The Lost Day.
I did spend the next day and night in the cabin recovering...... But I'm fine now so onward and upward as the bard said (I think he said it) lol
