Dagens udflugt gik til Barzos Bend State Park en times kørsel fra Galveston. Nu skulle vi se nogle dyr, og gå en lang tur.
Vi gik forventningsfulde til opgaven, og selv om varmen blev gradvist værre, holdte vi humøret oppe og kæmpede os igennem. Vi klarede i hvert fald varmen bedre, end de 300 alligators der bor i parken. Når det er for varmt, gemmer de sig under vandet, eller graver sig ned i store huller i flodens bund og sider.
Vores vandretur på knapt 10 km varede næsten tre timer. Vi så en racoon, en klam edderkop, fugle som spiste flodkrebs, fugle i massevis og en sød skildpadde, som jeg var centimeter fra at losse til. Men ingen alligators. Først i et sidste desperat forsøg, lykkes det at finde en. Det var godt, for efter fem timer i parken, var hende den rødhårede også rød og våd i hovedet.
På vej hjem fandt vi endelig et supermarked hvor vi kunne købe Sushi til en hjemme-aftensmad.Read more

We went to the mall and it was huge you could fit 3 or 4 bayfiars I KNOW RIGHT but the one thing that caught my eye is the best thing ever I could even emagian it's called splatter balls stupid but awesome at the same time I know I know I'm crazy but there fun to play with what's in side them? Water that's the answer to the question and the right way and how to pop it is by screeching it or twisting it too much I got to go see you especially you jimmy and I have something for you at the end of the blogs ok bye DAY 5Read more

Today we have nothing planned today so I guess it's gonna be like being at home but a little better here. We were going to pick up the camper but it's not ready yet. When Jared and I woke up we started to watch tv and that's all we are doing right now (9 am) so I'll see you later today. Wow it was not what I thought we did some stuff not that interesting but still. We went to Walmart and got Aaron some clothes and I got a fidget spinner. Am Nachmittag sind wir in den Süden von Houston gefahren. Vom Norden, wo unser Hotel ist, bis in den Süden sind es ca. 50 Kilometer die Stadt ist wirklich groß.

Im Süden haben wir einen Hinduismus Tempel besucht. Die Indische Glaubensgemeinschaft hat insgesamt 12 solcher Tempel auf der ganzen Welt. Diese Anlage ist 15 Jahre alt. Man muss die Schuhe ausziehen, bekommt ein Gewand zum bedecken der Knie und darf im Tempel nicht fotografieren. Ein recht interessanter Ort.

Auf der Rückfahrt haben wir uns den „Waterwall Park“ angesehen. Eine Art Denkmal mitten in der Stadt bei dem stündlich Millionen Liter Wasser den künstlich angelegten Wasserfall herunter fließen.

Der Park liegt direkt neben dem Williams Tower, dem höchsten Gebäude der Stadt. Wie der Zufall es will, liegt direkt daneben „The Galerie“ die größte und edelste Shopping Mall von ganz Texas. In der Mall ist eine Eislauffläche für die Besucher, draußen waren es 36* Grad. Es gibt natürlich alle edlen Labels. Das war unser erster Tag.Read more

Hinduistischer Tempel & ein Retortendorf

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Stafford: Von Galveston nach San Antonio einen Zwischenhalt bei einem hinduistischen Tempel eingelegt. Brian hat mir eine kurze Einführung zum Hinduismus gegeben. Einen Historiker als Partner zu haben, ist wunderbar! "Verbotenerweise" hat er noch Fotos vom Inneren des Tempels gemacht;-). Der Marmor kommt aus Italien, die Stücke wurden handgearbeitet in Indien und in Stafford zusammengesetzt.
Per Zufall ein Musterdorf durchquert mit Häusern zum Anschauen... Sehr bünzlig...

Fun all around

Today was fun! We met up with Brendan and went shopping might not sound fun but it was funnier than you think. Next we went to the Houston space station were NASA was, like the real thing. That was a blast got a little boring but still on my recommendation list. After NASA we checked out the Kemarh board walk, fun fun fun. It was a board walk amusement park, I know. we did the hypnospin first, then the Ferris wheel and then the pirate ship. Before we could do any other rides there was a thunderstorm coming and all the rides were closed so we couldn't have and more sadly. :-( At the end of the day we dropped off Brendan's stuff and went back home and that's my day today.
