Good traveling weather for the first leg of our journey to our home base in Boring, Oregon. Spent Sunday night in Yreka, California.
Monday we continued north to Coburg, Oregon where we spent the night in the service center parking lot at "Camp Monaco". As luck would have it we canceled our appointment for service as our home on wheels is running superbly.
While in the area we took Kuma to our favorite self serve dog wash for a shampoo and grooming.
Tuesday we enjoyed pretty spring blooms on our way to Boring.

We had a wonderful month at Lake Simtustus relaxing, reading (9 books), fishing, eating, drinking, playing cards, and visiting. Kuma was in doggy heaven wandering around our campsite and fetching his floating toy from the lake. Randy caught a 17 1/2 inch rainbow trout and with my expert netting skills we managed to land it in the live well. We enjoyed two scrumptious smoked corned beefs braised in stout beer prepared by Randy for his early birthday celebration. We completed our fishing derby with the boys beating the girls by six fish. Thursday night we had a farewell campfire and sing along at Jim and Kathy's.Les mer

Hwy 26 was closed due to an accident so we took the scenic route back to our home base. Though it added an hour to our trip it was a beautiful drive over Mt Hood to Hood River then west along the Columbia. We came home to a yummy birthday dinner prepared by Randy's mom, Sharon.
Last Saturday we returned to our old neighborhood to attend Bubba's Bad Ass Barbecue for the first time in 5 years. Had a good time catching up with our former neighbors and eating Gary's delicious beef ribs. Thank you so much Gary and Barbara for your hospitality and friendship.
Sunday the kids brought over two pizzas from Giuseppe's, Randy's favorite, to celebrate his 63rd birthday. We had a great afternoon visiting, playing gonad-a-toss, aka ladder ball, and enjoying the desserts made by Sharon.
During the week we caught up on doctor appointments, picked raspberries, smoked five pastramis and visited family.
Today we picked 6 gallons of blueberries with friends and family. Many thanks to Tom and Allison for allowing us to harvest their fantastic berries every year.
After picking Jim (Allison's uncle) and Kathy came over for pie that I made from the last of last year's berries.

We've been curious about the two nuclear cooling towers across hwy 12 so on Monday we checked them out. What was to be the Satsop Nuclear Power Plant is now the Satsop Business Park.https://www.satsop.com/

Friday I returned to Portland to attend the Oregon Nikkei Endowment's Annual Banquet. We checked out Mayfield Resort and Marina where we'd taken water-skiing lessons about 30 years ago and stopped at DeGoede Gardens on the way home.
