Vietnam and Cambodia 2018

Back at the hotel around 6am, we knew our room would likely not to be ready just yet but we were hopeful if we checked in and sat in the foyer we may have been able to get in a little earlier than the usual check in time, especially as we stayed there a few nights before. We were to be here for 3 nights and back later for another night so surely we are VIP by now (he he). Wrong, no rooms available at all.

That's Ok we will check emails, oops another issue. Looks like our flight to Hue has been cancelled and we have been put on a different flight. You might think so what. Well our original flight was 6am and now has been changed to 11.20am Just a bit of difference and you think again so what. Well we had actually booked a tour for when we landed in Hue to start at 7.30am. So now we now have to change our tour and hope there is a vacancy for another day.

We thought great morning so far, lets go get a coffee and something to eat to fill in time. Off we go for walk down the street and at this early time there is nowhere to get breakfast unless you want noodles. So back to the hotel where we buy some pastries and coffee.

I won't go into the washing saga other than to say that our washing is now at 2 different laundries, one for tumble dry and one for sun dried. John now tells me that he may have left a pink tour booking docket in one of his pockets that has gone to washing.

John had to go to our tour agent to finalise payment for tomorrow's tour and there was a group in front of him making arrangements for 2 tours for 6 people with numerous questions and multiple payments. It took John 45 minutes for a simple transaction.

During all this still not feeling very well and my knee is very sore and I have cankles from all the walking in Sapa and, I guess, the heat so John has been doing most of the arranging this morning while I was sitting in an air con area with my feet up reading. He is just a good boy, love him forever.

So after 5 hours after arriving back in Hanoi we now have a room, it is the same style as our room before but just slightly bigger and not looking over the temple but we still have a bath that the street can see into. So we proceed to unpack, shower, confirm our flight details and rearrange our tour in Hue. Thankfully the tour company in Hue was very quick to respond and that has now been sorted in just a few minutes.

Things can only go up from here!

I will keep you informed of our only messy day so far but we always have the motto in our mind, "if can go wrong it will, we are the Hopwood's"
