Went to Scottish National Gallery.
Had dinner at a great Italian restaurant Bella Italia.

Had breakfast at the hotel (tried Haggis and blood pudding)and then went to the Scottish Parliament and Castle at Holyrood. Holyrood is the residence of the Queen when she visits in July.

Arrived in Dunblane from Edinburgh. Took multiple trains due to flooding. Went from Edinburgh- Croy- Sterling- Dunblane. Very rainy!!

Breakfast in the hotel then 25 minute coach ride to Castle Stirling. Mary Queen of Scots, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce claimed residence. Stone bridge dates back to 1300.

On the way to Inverness, toured the ruins of Urqhart Castle, dating back to the 1200s. Then took a cruise across Loch Ness to Inverness...no site of Nessy 😞

Stayed in amazing 5 star hotel, Ness Walk, in Inverness. Only opened 8 weeks ago.

Visited stunning Cawdor Castle. Privately owned for generations but opened to the public in the summer for tours. It is here I decided I really want a castle.

Toured the Johnston’s of Elgin mill where they make wool and cashmere. I have a new appreciation for the making of sweaters! Very exclusive and expensive. They supply Burberry and Louis Vitan.Læs mere
