Over Oamaru to Moeraki

It was raining overnight and the morning, but at least it was not getting so cold again as last night!

The last stop for today was at the famous Moeraki Boulders!

As it was too early to go and look for some penguins and if coarse it was also high tide so the Moeraki Boulders are also not so good to see, I decided to check in early at the campground and take itもっと詳しく

Road to Dunedin

After my early morning photo session, I went back to the campground at 6.30 and tried to sleep a little bit more.

I woke up to a beautiful blue sky and I wind at all! Awesome! That’s really perfect as my plane for today is to discover the Otago Peninsula.

Monarch Cruises

For the afternoon I booked a combo package.
First I will cruise around the Otago Peninsula with Monarch Cruises and then I will visit the Penguin Place to hopefully see some Yellow-eyed Penguins andもっと詳しく
Penguin Place I

After the cruise, I had plenty of time to take me to the penguin place. It’s only a 3 minutes drive and I was booked on the tour at 4.45 pm.

Also today the weather is quite nice. Still not really warm, but that's ok!
It's sunny and a little bit windy.

Road to Nugget Point

After a short break at the carpark from Tunnel Beach, I went towards Nugget Point. It got more and more cloudy on the way, but the sun was coming through here and there. I now I am driving towards theもっと詳しく

In the early afternoon, I arrived at Nugget Point.
I walked up and down the little hill to the lighthouse. It's a really nice place also with clouds now!

In the evening the clouds and the wind disappeared and I decided to give the sunset a try and went pack to Nugget point around 9.15 pm.

Purakaunui, Matai and Horseshoe Falls

I woke up at 5 o'clock this morning, a perfect time to go for the sunset at Nugget Point but unfortunately the weather is not with me today, it's super cloudy and not worth it to even drive and giveもっと詳しく
Cathedral Caves

Shortly before 10 am I arrived at the Cathedral Caves carpark. I thought the low tide was at 10 am, but the nice lady there told me it was at 9 am and I would need to hurry to make it at least to someもっと詳しく
Mc Lean Falls and Florence Hill Lookout

I also stopped at the Florence Hill Lookout!
The next walk was at the Mc Lean Falls.
This was a really nice short walk to a really nice waterfall.

Koropuku Falls and Curio Bay

This might be one of the nicest walks I did. Really short though but so beautiful!

Today I have a calm day. I really need it!
I used the day to get my car to the service and the oil changed. Nice system here. You go there, leave your car and they tell you when you can come back. Inもっと詳しく

The weather today is strange. Changing between sunshine, rain, storm and something in between.
Good that I have not planned in so much for today.

Riverton Lookout and Cosy Nook

After a good breakfast, I left the campground around 10 am. Driving on a small road can lead to some unexpected problems. 🙈😂

Gemstone Beach and McCrackens Lookout

Gemstone Beach was my next stop. You can actually find gemstones here if you are lucky!

Now I am leaving the coast to drive up into the land to the Fiordland.
