    Departure/Odlet

    14 czerwca 2017, Republika Czeska ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

    EN:
And here it comes! My trip to Brazil is starting right now! Why Brazil? One of my best friends Saša is currently doing her exchange semester there. So I find it as a great opportunity to explore this amazing country full of diversity and mainly to reunite again after 10 long months with my travel mate Saša. Saša is studying in Sao Paulo, so my first stop is gonna be this 12 million metropolis. With this number Sao Paulo is among the world's most populous cities.

Right now I am sitting at Prague's airport, waiting for my flight. First I am flying to London, then to Miami and finally to Sao Paulo. Hopefully everything will work out as planned and in more or less 25 hours I will reach my final destination. :)

    CZ:
A je to tady! Tímto začíná moje cesta do Brazílie!

Letím do Londýna, poté do Miami a nakonec do Sao Paula. :)

  • "Olá" Sao Paulo

    15 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

    EN:
I made it! Even though when transiting in Miami, I was pretty sceptic as I had only more or less one hour to catch the next flight. Normally it would be ok but not in the US with all the immigration control. But thanks to nice flight attendents who let me sit in the business class in front of the aircraft for the last hour of the flight, a card for diplomats to skip all the lines, and my final run without shoes because my feet somehow got swollen I reached my gate just on time.

From the airport in Sao Paulo I took and uber and went directly to Sasa's apartment. The ride itself was pretty funny as the uber driver was really talkative..unfortunately only in portuguese.

It was sooo awesome to see Saša again! Her parents and brother came to visit her as well, so later on we all met and went to explore Sao Paulo. At first glance the city may seem intimidating and no great beauty, but its the atmosphere that one has to experience. At every corner there is some festival, or a busker entertaining the passers-by. Today we explored mainly the Old town and then we walked through Avenida Paulista which is one of the most famous and biggest avenues of the city. It is such a lively area, packed with restaurants, shops and cafes. Later we just relaxed and prepared ourselves for a overnight bus ride to Rio de Janeiro.

    CZ:

    16 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

    EN:
Early in the morning we arrived to Rio de Janeiro. We booked our accomodation in advance in a hostel located in a pacified favela. Favela means a slum, a low income urban area in Brazil. The hostel had really great references and we found it as a great cultural experience, also the location was great..right in between Copacabana and Ipanema beach. However coming to the hostel, even the taxi driver had problems finding it because it was really steep going uphill through tiny streets. And at first glance the neighborhood looked really intimidating. We passed police men who were aiming their guns at us. But after the check-in in the hostel and seeing the view from the terrace we did not have doubts anymore. I think the first picture just speaks for itself. We also talked to the receptionist if we should be worried about the safety and she explained us that of course we have to be careful about our personal belongings but that favela works like a community and people are really nice and helpful. And she was absolutely right! If you want to have a local experience and not a mainstream hotel one..you should definitely stay in Tiki hostel in Rio de Janeiro.

Our first stop was of course the famous Copacabana beach! Its Rio's most beautiful beach that curves 4.5 km from end to end. Nothing can beat the feeling of being there and drinking Caipirinha. Later we went for lunch and had a typical dish that consists of some meat with rice and french fries and it is served with salsa from beans. It may sound like a weird combination but I have to admit that it was really tasty! In the afternoon we went to see one of the most wanted touristic sights of Rio de Janeiro...the statue of Christ, which is located on top of a mountain 710 m above the sea level. We were full of excitement but when we reached the top it was so disappointing as everything was in the fog..and not even the Christ was visible. However, the fog was circulating and in one minute everything was clear and the views were just breathtaking. Our timing was just perfect because we saw everything in the day light and then we waited for the sunset and total darkness to see the Christ lit up. We did not have to wait a long time as now in Brazil is a winter time so the sun goes down already around 6 pm. It was such a powerful experience that we were even closed to tears. In the evening we just walked alongside Copacabana and did some souvenir shopping.

    CZ:
Ráno jsme dorazili do Ria de Janeira. A měla naprostou pravdu!

    17 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Right after we enjoyed a nice breakfast at our hostel terrace, we decided to go on a hike to Dois Irmaos, in english Two brothers mountain, which you can see on the last picture. It may look impossible to simply walk up this steep mountain, but there is a nice trail. To reach the trail we had to pass through a favela called Vidigal. At the entrance to the favela we took a public van to get to the start. The path started off pretty easy and we saw some monkeys and lizards. However, soon we got to the steeper part where we needed to grasp on the roots and branches to make our way up. At one point we also got a view facing Rocinha, the largest favela in Brazil. When we reached the top, we understood why Rio de Janeiro is called the Marvelous City. The views were just incredible. And from up there we could see all the highlights of Rio including Ipanema beach, the Christ or the Pao de Acucar (Sugarloaf). Again, I think the pictures speak for itself. We were just sitting on the top of the rock and enjoyed the views at least for an hour. In the afternoon we were pretty tired so we were just chilling on the Ipanema beach which we admired before from the top. The plan for the evening was to go out to some samba bar in Lapa. Lapa is a neighbourhood in Rio, known for its lively cultural life with many bars and restaurants. However, after the hike almost everybody passed out and it was just me and Saša who were ready to hit the bars. At the beginning I was hesitating if it is a good idea going alone just two girls. But everything worked out totally fine and we had a great time in one Samba bar with live music. The way back to the hostel was an adventure, as we took motorbikes to get up through the steep hill of the favela.

    CZ:

  • Last day in Rio

    18 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

    EN:
Today was our last day in this marvelous city. It was around 28 °C, just a perfect sunny day. So after checking out at the hostel we aimed directly to Copacabana beach. We just enjoyed a fun and relaxed day in the water, sunbathing, taking pictures, drinking caiprinhas and coconuts. In the late afternoon we went to the second most famous peak in Rio...called Pao de Acucar (Sugarloaf). The top of the hill is almost 400 meters above the sea level and the ride up is done by two connected cable cars. At the top, the city just unfolds beneath you, with the Christ in front of you to the west and Copacabana Beach to the south. The views were just spectacular and it was a great closure to our time in Rio de Janeiro. We went to pick up our baggage to the hostel and took a night bus back to Sao Paulo.
I can honestly say that I was amazed by Rio and really wish to come back again especially for the famous Carnival which takes place every year around the months of January/February.
Hope to see you soon Rio!!!

    CZ:
Dnešek byl posledním dnem v tomto úchvatném městě. Bylo okolo krásných 28 stupňů, no prostě krásný slunečný den.
    Brzy nashledanou Rio!

  • All you can eat

    19 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

    EN:
In the morning we came back to Sao Paulo. It took forever to get through the heavy traffic to Sasa's place from the bus station. Today was a more relaxing day or lets say eating day. Sasa came up with a plan to go Churrascaria. Churrascaria is a type of restaurant offering all you can eat service and all types of meat on a grill. There was a kind of bar with cooks behind it who served you a slice of freshly prepared meat upon request. Of course we wanted to try everything, so when we ended there we had to go for a walk. In the evening we packed again as the next day we had a flight to Foz de Iguazu to see the famous Iguazu waterfalls.

    CZ:
Ráno jsme dorazili zpátky do Sao Paula. Saša nás vzala do Churrascarie. Večer nás čekalo zase balení, protože další den ráno jsme měli let do města Foz de Iguacu za slavnými vodopády Iguacu.

  • Almost missing a flight

    20 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 10 °C

    EN:
Today another adventure was waiting for us. We went on a 3 day trip to see the famous Iguacu waterfalls. We had a flight to a city Foz de Iguazu that is the most western city of Brazil bordering with Argentina and Paraguay. It is a kind of a curiosity that 3 states are meeting at one place.

Our flight was around midday and at first everything went smooth. We were at the airport 3 hours in advance ready to check in. However, the self check in machine announced some security problems so we had to go to the counter. A lady there asked us for a credit card that we paid the flight tickets with...it seemed suspicious that from 1 credit card 5 plane tickets were bought. Sasa did not have the credit card with her because the money were deducted and we had our plane tickets printed out so we really did not expect any complications. Moreover, it was really hard to communicate as nobody spoke english or spanish. Finally our only option was to buy new plane tickets and wait for them to return the money for the previous ones. They did not really care that we had 30 minutes left till our flight. And just told us that the gate is already closing anyways. At this point we were getting really mad because they were creating problem after another out of nothing. Finally, one guy came who spoke english and managed to get us on the flight, by running with us through the security for the airport employees. I have never experienced such an adventurous boarding on a plane. The flight itself took around 1 hour and 30 mins.

When we reached our hotel it was already late afternoon so we ordered a transfer to go to a bird park. It is actually the largest bird park in Latin America, located in the middle of a rainforest. We were in a direct contact with some amazing birds from all corners of Brazil and various parts of the world. My favourite ones were the toucans.

Our driver waited for us and on the way to the hotel stopped in one chocolate factory. He was a really cool older guy, so we asked him if he can drive us around during the following days. Because it is pretty hard to get around to the waterfalls on your own if you do not order any private tours, which can be pretty overpriced.

    CZ:

Samotný let poté trval okolo hodiny a půl.

  • 1 day in Argentina

    21 czerwca 2017, Argentyna ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Iguazu falls crash across the Brazil and Argentina border. There are 275 individual falls occupying an area more than 3km wide and 80m high. It is said that after seeing Iguazu falls, the Niagara ones are nothing in comparison. It is hard to say which side is better, whether the argentinian or brazilian one, as both are different.

We started with the Argentinian one, our driver Sebastian came to pick us up in the morning and first took us to exchange some argentinian pesos as no other currency and not even credit cards are accepted to pay the entrance fee. Then we crossed the brazilian border followed by the argentinian one. I was so happy to get another stamp for my passport. The two states are divided by a bridge across a river.

When we reached the park Sebastian explained us the trails that we should take and recommended us a boat tour as well. There were 3 trails, upper trail with the view for the falls from above, middle trail facing the falls and inferior trail. To reach the upper trail we took a short train ride. And then we walked around 2km on elevated plank walkway through jungle above the river to reach the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's throat). The name its really appropriate. It is probably the most impressive section of the falls, where 50% of the entire falls' flow run into a narrow section leaving you stunned at the absolute power of Mother Nature. We were directly above the whole action, it was so close that we got pretty soaked as well. The second trail was a more scenic one, so we just walked and enjoyed the beautiful views for the falls with the rainbow above it. And finally we decided for some adventure. We booked a tour called nautic adventure and went on a speed boat under the falls. For the next 10 minutes we were screaming our heads off as the driver sped in and out the falls, subjecting us to the pounding water. It was really intense but really unforgettable experience. And we got super soaked like from a big shower! Then the boat continued down the river and at one point we disembarked and got on safari jeep that took us through the jungle which was the end of the tour.

Sebastian picked us up and we crossed the border again to the brazilian side where our hotel was. The Iguazu falls are among the new 7 wonders of nature and I can definitely understand why! :)

    CZ:

Náš řidič Sebastian nás ráno vyzvedl v hotelu a vzal nás vyměnit argentinské pesa, protože vstup do parku není možné platit žádnou jinou měnou ani kreditní kartou.

  • Brazilian Iguacu

    22 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

In the morning Sebastian picked us up at our hotel again and we headed to explore the waterfalls from the brazilian side. Once we entered the park, a bus took us to the main trailhead. There is just one trail, that is 1,2km long and follows the shore of the Iguacu river, providing many photo options and a grand overview of the falls along the way. It ends at the bottom of Garganta do Diablo (Devil's throat). So the day before at argentinian side we were at the top of this part of the falls, and today we could admire it from the bottom part as we walked on a manmade walkway that reaches out to the middle of the river. From there we really felt the force of rushing water, thats why we were wearing raincoats. On the way we could spot a lot of birds and coatis. They are really curious cute animals, looking for food all the time and not ashamed at all of checking your bag if there is some snack present.

I can not really decide which side is more beautiful as both offer experience from different perspectives. The argentinian one is, lets say more adventurous as you are super close to the falls and feel their power while the brazilian one is more scenic with amazing viepoints. Also for Argentinian side you need one whole day and for brazilian one, a half day is enough. Definitely, if you have the chance going to Iguazu waterfalls, do not miss the opportunity of visiting both sides.

We were done around midday, and Sebastian took us from the park directly to the aiport. He was a really great, knowledgeable guide and helped us a lot during our stay, I would definitely recommend him.

We went back to Sao Paulo, and it was a last day in Brazil for Sasa's parents, so we went out for dinner and also for last caipirinhas to a really cool street full of food trucks. I think I have had the best strawberry caipirinha there.

  • Municipal market

    23 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

When you are in Sao Paulo...the Municipal market is a must! It is a traditional gourmet point of the city. We went there for lunch to get a mortadella sandwich, which is on the second picture. Just coming inside the building I was overwhelmed by all the different stands, especially with fruits. The sellers stop you and give you to try some with expectations that you buy something in return. I tried some kinds of fruit that I have never heard of before. Of course a brigadeiro for a sweet tooth like me could not be missed as well. Brigadeioro is a common brazilian delicacy from condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter and chocolate sprinkles to cover the outside layer, also on the second picture.

In the afternoon, we wanted to go up Banespa skyscaper, Brazil's version of The Empire State Building for one of the best panoramas of the city. Unfortunately, it is under reconstruction at the moment. So we came up with a plan B and went on a tour through a city hall, which was probably really interesting, unfortunately just in portuguese. However, the tour ended on a beautiful rooftop with a tropical garden and views of the city. So it was really worth it.

  • Embu das Artes

    24 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Today we went on a small trip, 30km outside of Sao Paulo to a small town called Embu das Artes. Thanks to the hippies, artists and intellectuals the town managed to retain much of its colonial core. Its a popular weekend retreat to escape from Sao Paulo's concrete jungle. During the weekend local artisans offer their wares at the outdoor market. The area around the market is full of antique and crafts shops. So it was a perfect way for two girls how to spend their Saturday.

With Sasa we took a bus to go there, but it was pretty tricky at first, as there was no exact timetable, neither the bus stop was marked properly. So we were just asking locals if we are at the right bus stop. But we made it! We were just wandering around the market and exploring little colourful streets of Embu. Moreover, all the houses were painted with different colours which made the town really vivid.

  • Park Ibirapuera

    25 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

On sundays the main avenue Paulista is closed down from all the traffic. So it is great for pedestrians to just stroll around and enjoy all the musical and dance performances taking place on the street. Thats exactly what we did with Saša and her friend from Germany that she met during her exchange semester here. Later we went to a park called Ibirapuera. It is the biggest green space in central Sao Paulo. We bought a fresh coconut water, that can be found at every corner there and just laid down on the grass and had a good time watching a sun going down over a lake. Czytaj więcej

  • Vila Madalena walking tour

    27 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

It is actually exam period for Saša now and tomorrow is her last exam, so she needed to study a little bit. However, I wanted to continue exploring the city, so Saša suggested me to join a free walking tour. It is a travel agency that organizes daily walking tours through Sao Paulo...amazing way how to meet other travelers and get to know the city from a local perspective.

I joined a Vila Madalena tour. Vila Madalena is considered to be the coolest neighbourhood of Sao Paulo. It is known for its bustling nightlife and Sao Paulo bohemian culture and art. The neighbourhood is filled with dozens of galleries, studios, restaurants, bars and series of graffiti covered streets and alleys. The most well known is probably the batman's alley. Nowadays, brazilian graffiti is one of the best in the world. It all started back in the 70's as an important instrument of protest against the distatorship opression that the country suffered.

The tour took 3 hours, which passed super quick thanks to our enthusiastic guide and the good time we were having. If you are ever in Sao Paulo, I really recommend to take one of their tours (www.saopaulofreewalkingtour.com). I discovered the area during the day time, but as I mentioned above, it is a popular place to go out, thats why I could not miss the opportunity to continue exploring the area during the night time as well. So with Sasa and other exchange students we came back later for some caipirinhas..and i have to admit, the Brazilians are the masters at making caipirinhas.

  • Let's pack!

    28 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

Sasa oficially finished her exchange semester with her last exam and we are ready to travel again! So today was just a packing day. So far, we have covered Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and the Iguazu falls.

Now we have a 2 weeks adventure ahead of us. Tomorrow we head to the northeast to the state of Bahia, our first stop is going to be Salvador, the so-called Afro-Brazilian jewel. From there we go to a national park of Chapada Diamantina, to explore the crystal blue pools, rushing waterfalls and rugged hiking trails. Afterwards we fly more to the north to get some sun tan as the north is famous for the most beautiful beaches of Brazil. We will move down the coast spending some time in Pipa, Joao Pessoa and Recife. From Recife we take a flight to a last point of our trip...park Lencois Maranhenses where we plan to do a 3 day trek right across a desert. We are sooo excited to start our travels. Hopefully everything will work out as planned and we will have an amazing time.

  • Salvador

    29 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ 🌫 25 °C

The first stop of our 2 weeks adventure is Salvador. Once the magnificent capital of Portugal's New World Colony, Salvador is the country's Afro Brazilian jewel. The city is marked by the harsh history of the African slave trade. However, today's lively Bahian capital offers a unique fusion of two vibrant cultures.

To get there we took a direct flight from Sao Paulo. When we reached our hostel, we were really surprised in a positive way when finding a cosy hostel right in the historic centre of Pelourinho with a swimming pool on a terrace. Pelourinho is a Unesco declared World heritage site of colourful colonial buildings and magnificent churches. As the right tourists we went directly to the streets to explore. When wandering around, I was just amazed by its liveliness and colours everywhere.

Moreover, the state of Bahia is well known for its amazing cuisine. We wanted to try a local dish called Moqueca so we looked for the right restaurant. If you wanna attract czech people to enter your restaurant...offer them a free caipirinha. Thats exactly what made us to choose the right place. :D Moqueca is a dish based on a fish or other sea food, tomatoes, onions, garlic and coriander cooked with coconut milk and served with beans and rice on a side. We chose a shrimp one and it was just delicious. After a good food it was time to relax by the hostel's pool with a happy hour of free caipirinhas. If you are ever in Salvador, book your stay in the hostel Galeria 13!

The month of June is characterized by the festas Juninas (June's celebrations). So, in the evening we were ready to go out to enjoy the nightlife scene of Salvador. All the streets were colourfully decorated and music was coming from every corner. Also the capoeira performances took place almost at every square of the city. Capoeira combines elements of the fight, the game and the dance. It was developed by Afro-Brazilian slaves more than 400 years ago as a means of maintaining a ready self-defense against their masters. Today it remains a uniquely Bahian art form.

  • 2nd day in Salvador

    30 czerwca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Our second day in Salvador started with a rainy morning so we enjoyed a relaxed great hostel breakfast before the weather got better and we headed to the streets of Salvador. Once more we walked through the historic centre of Pelourinho before we aimed to the waterfront of the city called Barra. On the way we took a ride in an elevator that connects the upper part of the city with the waterfront, checked some souvenirs in a market place, and met a really cool old rasta man with who we took some rasta pictures. In Barra there was a really nice promenade with many restaurants around. So after lunch we chilled on the beach and later walked towards the South America's oldest lighthouse (Farol da Barra) for the sunset. In the evening we went back to the hostel to pick up our luggage before we took an overnight bus to our next stop Lencois, the base to enter the national park of Chapada Diamantina. Czytaj więcej

  • Chapada Diamantina

    1 lipca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

As I have mentioned, our second stop was Chapada Diamantina. The way  there took around 6 hours from Salvador.

Chapada Diamantina is a deliciously unspoiled National park well of the beaten path. A pristine outdoor wonderland of rushing waterfalls, crystal blue pools, hiking trails and natural waterslides.

When you plan your trip you can either decide for one day excursions or a more day trek with a local guide. We heard that the second option is much better in order to really get the feeling of the park. However, planning in advance is really tough as many tourist agencies set the prices really high. Thanks to couchsurfing I got a contact for a local guide who was willing to acompany us to the park, but the communication was a little bit confusing so we decided to book a hostel and organize trips through them.

However, arriving to the bus station early in the morning an unexpected surprise was waiting for us. There was waiting somebody from the hostel to pick us up holding a sign with Sasa's name and next to him my couchsurfing guide calling on me hello Jana. Michael was just having a blast and at this moment I was happy that he leaves all the planning just on me and Sasa, otherwise there would probably be a third person waiting for us. We apologized for the misunderstanding and left for the hostel as scheduled.

The first day we decided for a one day tour. At the hostel they organized everything and later our guide Washington picked us up. Just driving through the park of unspoiled nature was awesome. The first stop of the tour was a Lapa Doce cave. We got funny colorful helmets and went underground to explore the 3rd largest cave in Brasil with its roof always 15 to 20 metres high and amazing limestones stalactites and stactmites with odd shapes and colors.

The next stop was a Pratinha cave. When walking there, our guide spotted a Tarantula spider and was taking him on a stick. As I am not a huge fan of spiders, I was just watching from distance. By the Pratinha cave I was really amazed because it is a mouth of underground river flowing out to the surface. We had a possibility of doing a snorkeling tour there. It was an unforgetable experience. I think I have never seen such a transparent water. When we swam to the inside of the cave, there was a complete darkness so we had to use a torch to make our way. It was a little bit frightening but exciting feeling being inside a cave in darkness and having around 20 meters of water below us. Afterwards we chilled just beyond the cave where the river forms a lake, a true oasis with crystal clear water.

The third stop was a Pai Inácio mountain. The view from the top is a 360 degree majestic scenery of the national park. It was just a short hike to get up and totally worth the effort.

Last stop was a Mucugezinho river. The river has a really interesting black color, the water is really clean though, its the iron that makes it black. After a short trail, partly wading through the river we reached a Devil's pool with an impressive waterfall.

Our guide was a really awesome one and we had an amazing day so we asked him for recommendation how to spend the following two days in the national park. He offered taking us on a 2 day trek of a part of the Pati valley trail which is considered to be one of the most beautiful treks of Brazil. It also included one night stay in the mountains in a house of locals. So of course we made a deal with him!

Returning to the hostel we cancelled the second night, packed everything and prepared just the necessary for the trek.

  • 2 day trek

    2 lipca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

Already at 7 in the morning our guide Washington picked us up because to get to the the start of the trail took 2 hours by car. We were supposed to pay for the tour but it was just impossible to withdraw some cash in the village as there was only one bank plus which ran out of money. So Washington was teasing us that no money no food and we will have to cook by ourselves.

Once we reached the trail, wel left the car just with our small backpacks with water and clothes we were wearing because Washington warned us that what is one kilo now feels like three during the track. I really admired him as he was carrying food for all four of us for the following two days. The track started with a steep climb of a mountain, followed by a plain until we reached one of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. To enjoy the view even more, Washington prepared a very good lunch for us. From up there we could see the place where we were supposed to spend the night. It looked so close but in reality so far. Therefore we continued hiking, walking down the steep mountain just the opposite side from the morning one.

In the afternoon we reached "our accomodation". It was like an oasis in the middle of the mountains. It was a home of a local family who provides shelter for tourists like us during the trek. It was a true paradise, couple of simple houses with no electricity, hens, roosters and mules running around. We really could not imagine a better and more peaceful place to take a rest after an exhausting hike.

Later we went just up a near hill with the aim to watch a sunset. Although the sunset was not really succesful as we were in the valley and the sun went down behind a mountain...the colors of the sky were still amazing. When we came back, Washington already set a table with an amazing dinner. We had a really good talk over the dinner about the local life. I was curious how is it with the school there as we were really in the middle of nowhere in the mountains and the local family had kids. The answer was really shocking, the kids have to go everyday to the nearest village to attend school, so basically they gotta do the trek to cross the mountain every single day. They use the mules, we have seen running around, but still I was feeling really priviliged that I live so close to my school, eventhough I complain all the time that I have to go there.

After the dinner already around 8 pm we totally passed out with exhaustion but really happy that we could do trekking in such an amazing nature.

  • Last day in the park

    3 lipca 2017, Brazylia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

In the early morning Washington could not get us out from the bed. However, smelling freshly baked homemade bread, we were up immediately. After getting our energy back from an amazing breakfast we went on the track again. This part of the hike was not tough in the sense of climbing, however, was much longer and the weather was not so good as the previous day. The hike requiered a lot jumping from one boulder to another, and going through mud and bushes...so as seen on the last picture my originally white nikey's were not white anymore. Washington took us to see a spectacular waterfall, it was like 300 metres tall. There he also prepared a lunch for us. Afterwards we walked back towards our car. Today we walked around 20 kms. Although we were exhausted, we really had an amazing time. Reaching the hostel, we were happy to take a shower and wash all the mud from the hike. At night we took an overnight bus back to Salvador from where we had a flight the following day to Natal, this time to enjoy some relaxing days on the beach. Czytaj więcej
