    Pt Lincoln SA

    26. marts 2023, New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

After four days sailing, both Barry & I were really looking forward to a full day out and about in Port Lincoln.

Our arrival was around 8am, but the weather wasn't on our side, it was cool & raining.

Boston Bay on a fine day I'm sure is quite picturesque. It is larger than Sydney Harbour & Pt Lincoln is the seafood capital of Australia! The Traditional name for Pt Lincoln is Kallinyalla which means "Place of Sweet Water".

There is an abundance of fresh seafood, oysters prawns & Lobster as well as bluefin tuna.

Plenty of fishing trawlers we visible further around the bay so we were sure to have plenty of variety on our menu this evening.

It would have been a leisurely foreshore stroll, but the showers had set in & the local market stalls were moved inside the local Boston Pub.

We made our way for a coffee & Sunday Mail to a French Cafe recommended by Lyn & David. Barry was anxious to dissect Ports dismal loss; no one else in our group seemed interested at all.

The day was shortened by the weather so we returned to our ship for tea & hot scones & dry clothes. At least the step count was well over 10,000 !

    Kangaroo Island Sth Australia

    27. marts 2023, New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

Woke early this morning as we anchored what seemed fairly close to KI. The waters calm & the morning mild which was an improvement to yesterday in Pt Lincoln.

No tour was planned so after a leisurely breakfast we decided to wait until most of the ship's organized tours left via Tender, o ce sgai by Tender & just have a relaxing few hours exploring Penneshaw.

It only took 10min to reach the small Jetty so we made our way to the oval where market stalls were set up selling local KI honey, jewellery, art & craft. The few cafes were busy but the majority of tourists were obviously off on full or half day tours to the wineries, Seal Bay, Emu Bay or the Remarkable Rocks.

This time we were more than happy for a leisurely stroll along the beach to Frenchman's Rock following the path of the Art Trail cutting back to the oval. Penneshaw now has new Post Office & Information booth, I dropped into the IGA for water, a stop at the hotel for a beer then the short walk back to the Jetty & boat trip to ship.

Our group of six were all meeting for our last dinner together, & a thank you to our friendly waitress, Rhodora who had supplied our many requests for "two scoops of ice cream on the side" when ordering our desserts each evening.

Our cases are now packed & final drinks after the show, we retire for the evening before our arrival into Adelaide tomorrow.

We have enjoyed a great cruise with good company & met some lovely people. It's hard to believe it's 3 weeks since we sailed from Sydney, & now we are almost home again.

    Adelaide SA

    28. marts 2023, Australien

Up bright & early as we sailed up the channel to the wharf at Outer Harbour.

It's amazing the difference 3 weeks makes - its still dark at 6.30am. Our cases were out last night so it was only the basic few things to pack before heading to Level 16 & breakfast!

Final thank you's to our Cabin attendant, Ryan who was always smiling & eager to please. These people work extremely hard but a smile & love to chat. They work 7 days a week often back to back cruises before returning to their families for 4 - 6 wks.

We disembarked by 9.30am, collected our bags& waited for Des's Van for our ride back to Riverpoint.

A great cruise, excellent company & plenty of laughs & new diet plan after all the extra cookies & scones!!

    Italian Lakes

    12. september 2023, Australien ⋅ 🌙 17 °C

The weather was quite warm today, & after a busy morning it was time to relax for a few hours before the drive down to Andrew's car parking. This was an easier way to arrive at the airport, although we had various offers of a lift. If there are any delays returning, we are not interfering anyone's plans.

At the airport, there was quite a bit of confusion as we were unable to check- in online prior to flying . Ii seemed to be the case for most people. No choice of seating, but at least an aisle & one, it remains to see who will be on the window!

Not looking forward to this leg of the trip, but hoping to get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a lot more exciting!!
