We made it too Bakersfield with any trouble on Friday. We found a nice RV Park in downtown called Riverrun RV Park, where we spent the night. A quiet evening made for a pleasant travel day.

Pleasanton for the Weekend

We drove from Bakersfield to Pleasanton on Saturday, getting on the road around 10 am. A couple of stops delayed our arrival and we did not get to the RV park until almost 5 PM. Suzi's grandkids and great grandkids were supposed to visit, but due to our delayed arrival, they decided to wait until Sunday morning to come and visit. The weather was cool Saturday night, with a low of 49, so I had to get up and turn on some heat about 4 am on Sunday morning.Leggi altro

We had a nice day for visiting with the family. Two of Suzi's granddaughters and three of the great grandchildren were able to make the visit. Missed seeing one more granddaughter and her three children because of illness.

Had a great time getting caught up on all of the activities of the family. Suzi taught the great granddaughters how to play a dice game called "Farkle". It is the kind of game that allows a lot of visiting and laughter.

Everyone left before the weather changed, a rain storm rolled in and cooled everything off. Low of 40 last night. Felt like we were back home with the rain and cold weather.Leggi altro

Folsom - Monday with Friends

An easy drive on Monday from Pleasanton to Folsom. We wanted to spend some time with our friends here in Folsom.

We made several stops and still arrived before our friends got off work. We had a nice evening of visiting and catching up on the happenings of everybody. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner of chicken tostadas prepared by our hostess, Earlynn.

The remainder of the evening was spent just laughing and enjoying the company of friends. Unfortunately, they had to work on Tuesday, so it was a pretty early evening for us.Leggi altro

We had a nice breakfast before getting on the road home. Our trip up I-5 had to include a stop at the Olive Pit. After browsing the store for an hour and getting some great balsamic vinegar and olive tapenade (and eating lots of samples) we completed our trip to Yreka.

Checked in to a nice RV Park for the evening and had everything set up quickly. We plan on a quiet night here, and a couple of more easy days on the way home.Leggi altro

We had an easy trip from Yreka to Eugene, where we spent the night and had a chance to visit with my Nephew, John.

We started off today with a tour of Marathon Motor Homes where John works. These are some really impressive motor coaches with an amazing number of features. It was a very interesting tour.

Leaving Eugene we had an easy drive home, with only a little bit of traffic in Portland to deal with.

It has been a wonderful trip but I am looking forward to sleeping in our home bed tonight. Life is good.Leggi altro

Final Entry for this Trip

It was an exciting three weeks with a lot of great family time. It is always great to be able to visit with the family members and get updates on what is happening with everyone. Suzi and I are truly blessed to have wonderful kids, grandkids and great grandkids and spending time with them is always the best thing in life.

We traveled over 2,300 miles with only a couple of minor problems. We also identified some minor issues with the motor home that need to be resolved before our next trip in June.

I was surprised to find that I had lost 3 lbs during the trip. I would have sworn I gained weight. Maybe it was just the lack of gym time that made me think I would gain not lose.

Traveling in Mighty Mo sure makes life better for us. Suzi and I will never make long trips any other way (except flying first class of course). We have some great memories from this trip and I am looking forward to making many more good memories in the future.Leggi altro

Viaggiatore We are so blessed with exceptional kids who chose wonderful mates and are raising their children to be loving, kind and productive. It was so wonderful to have the Kraft family together celebrating Tim.
