Started work today. It was good. Simple but everyone seems to get along which is nice. Had a bit of an issue with one of my colleagues. They are incredibly intense with everything and didnt seem to understand that I did know what I am doing. But I held my tongue and let them boss me about. They seemed to be doing it with everyone so at least it's not just me.

Made myself overnight oats for breakky. Very nice.

Then had to do laundry. Not a vibe.

Not only was it $8 and hour to rent the room, the machines took at least 30mins each. But the machine lies. The 30min wash was 40. Which left me with less than 20 to dry. Needless to say that wasnt long enough. So the less glamorous side of travelling became my only choice. Drying my clothes around my room. RIP.

Now I know I could have let it dry and just paid the $16, but $16 a week is not ok. $8 I am used to and willing to do. Not twice that for machines that barely work anyways.

On my way to work I spotted this cool motorcycle. The owner offers scenic rides up Kunyani on it. So cool.Read more

Ok, imma be honest with you. I did like nothing today.

I had no intention of doing anything so I was pleased. One of the people on my tour suggested a cafe I could go to for coffee. The coffee was cheap and fancy. A weird mix and I didnt really like it. I wont be going back there I dont think. They also didnt have wifi and I like to do work/plan while I drink my coffee.

Then I went for a bit of a walk. Wandered through the Salamanca markets and up to Battery Point where I found a little park. There seems to be lots of parks across the city, little half blocks of grass and trees.

I then wanted some food so I went and found a different cafe. Again no wifi but they had a really nice sandwich for only $9. Toasted salmon and avocado, very nice. It is also right next to my new job so will probably be going there again.

Then just went back to my hostel and needed a bit of a sleep. Didnt sleep but just relaxed. Watched some TV and made some food.

An easy end to and easy day.Read more

Traveler I know right! far too fancy for me. and it was supposed to be a cappuccino, not enough foam. I was disappointed

Battery Point Sculpture Trail

As this is our last morning here in Hobart, we walked along the River Derwent foreshore to see some of the sculptures along the trail. I will do the whole trail from Sandy Bay next time I'm here!! Which I hope won't be too far away.Read more

Arthur Circus

We are in Battery Point, one of the oldest parts of Hobart, just down the road from our hotel, Lenna of Hobart.

Like Piccadilly Circus in London, Arthur Circus is a roundabout but this is the most beautiful one I have seen. This site was purchased in 1829 by Governor George Arthur.Read more

This is the park right behind Lenna and it used to house the battery to defend Hobart Town after it was founded, giving nearby Battery Point it's name.

Breakfast at home before visiting Geeveston on last time. Drive to Huonville for lunch at The Hairy Giraffe. Returned car at 3 pm. Extremely dirty. Overnight at The Lenna. Built 1874. Magnificent. Dinner at Ball & Chain restaurant.Read more
