Kleine Erfrischung

Noch vor dem Frühstück waren wir bereits am Strand um nach Delfinen Ausschau zu halten. Drei schwammen gemütlich etwas weiter aussen und plötzlich kamen sie immer näher und näher. In kürzester Distanz konnten wir sie beobachten. Für stolze 75 Dollar gabs ein leckeres Frühstück bevors dann weiter Richtung Mandurah ging. Da das Wasser nicht mehr ganz so kalt war wie bei Esperance gab‘s einen kleinen Erfrischungsschwumm am Silver Sand Beach. Eine halbe Autostunde von Mandurah entfernt liegt Rockingham, wo ein Ausflug für Morgen auf Pinguin Island gebucht wurde. Nach einem Spaziergang beim Cape Peron gabs zum Abschluss des Tages ein super Barbeque im Park.Read more

Easter and Wallabi group islands

Arrived off Rat Island during supper
Next Morning Explorer boat trip along Rat Island which is populated with fishing shacks
Then on to Morley Island where we hoped to land half of us while the others swam. In the event landing was not possible due to tide and reefs so we snorkelled from the boat.
Coral less colourful although bigger and more spectacular shapes. Many more fish of various sizes some b&w stripes, many dark, some with ‘eyes’ in their tails and a few with brilliant coloured fins.
Lunchtime sailed to East Wallabi Island for afternoon visit to Turtle Bay.
East Wallabi is close to the area where the Dutch East Indiaman Batavia went aground in 1629 with gruesome consequences for many of the crew and passengers. The island, although uninhabited, has an airstrip public shelters and toilet. We enjoyed a short walk to the other side seeing dragons and King salamanders with beautiful patterns, Tamara Wallaby, three Ospreys, Reef Heron and Sooty Oystercatchers.
Some then swan or snorkelled off the beach and the day ended with drinks and canapés on deckchairs in the late afternoon sun for 120 people- a phenomenal operation for the crew to accomplish.
We dined on the after deck watching the sun set and the almost full moon rise, while one of the crew stacked all the deckchairs on top of one of the Explorers which were then hoisted up back into storage (none were lost overboard).
Dinner was bisque or bruschetta, cod or tenderloin and drambuie strawberry cheesecake . What a day!Read more

Now I can die a happy person: I went on a boat trip to swim with wild dolphins today and it was just awesome! Thank you, Robert, for this amazing Christmas present!! Too bad you couldn't be there, too! (I honestly think the way they did it here is likely to be so much nicer than in most other places, including Israel which is unfortunately off limits right now anyway...) Will tell you guys more about it when I'm home. No pics, I was too busy enjoying myself and kept my phone real safe and dry.) Just the beach at 7:30 in the morning...Read more

Pelsaert Group - Post Office Island

Group of 120 roughly divided in two (one for each ‘Explorer’)
We joined the Turtles
06.30 breakfast ready for 07.30 departure
We headed for a visit to Post Office island (supposedly named due to a cairn resembling a Pillar Box, where Jesse and his mum Jayne gave us talks on cray fishing and pearl seeding. Both excellent speakers and clear they don’t leave on such a remote island all the time. The island is entirely coral and really hard to walk on
Saw Pacific and Silver gulls, Fairy and crested terns and a Ruddy turnstone
Back for lunch and quinoa salad and ginger beer
After our first snorkel trip off the boat in a sheltered nook. Coral branches with amazingly bright blue tips and others like blue dinner plates. Some small fish and some amazing colours.Read more

Coral Adventurer

Left Be Fremantle after really good stay
Taxi 5 minutes to Quay where we boarded Coral Adventurer for our cruise
Cabin 413 on deck 4 just forward of the dining room very well appointed
Briefing and life jacket drill as we set sail just after 9
Out past Rottnest Island and with Ocean Reef in the distance
Lunch on the rear deck (pork linguini or feta tart followed by fresh fruit) washed down with Great Northern Original - brilliant!
Afternoon talk on the Abrolhos and what to expect
Explore the ship including visit to the bridge
Dinner Snapper or chicken supreme followed by pavlova all very tasty (note most try and takes photos for future reference)

Seal Island

On Seal Island, we saw a lot of Sea Lions!
They are sooo huge! 😳
Most of them were sleeping on the beach, but some of them were actually in the water, playing around with each other and having a good time.

Some sea lions came pretty close to our kayak to check us out!
It was so amazing!
You are not allowed to paddle close to the beach, so Kara looked that we were in a good position moving us around towards the sea lions in the water and I was taking pictures with my underwater camera.

When we decided to leave and paddle towards Penguin Island one sea lion started to play with a guy that was snorkeling here. So we stayed a while longer and watched their game. The sea lion was really long playing with the guy and seems to have fun with him.
It was at least fun to watch from the side!
After a while, we left them behind and went to Penguin Island.Read more

Traumwetter isch die Wuche ahgseit ☀️🏝 typsich; jetzt woni warme Chleider postet han 😂 aber dörf mich ja nöd beklage haha

Siti wieder zrugg in Perth bin bzw. in Baldavis, 50km südlich vo Perth hani ide Umgäbig scho jede Strand abgfahre, aber die sind nöd so schön wie in Perth selber. Da ich aber nöd jede Tag wött 100km fahre hani mi doch mit eim zfriede geh😋 Zum bade ischer super, es het nöd so Monsterwelle wo dich umhaued, kei Alge, kein Mensche wir und breit und sogar es WC hets 😂 also gits nüt zum motze, Sabrina 🙈

Han eh Bäckerei gfunde wo uuu feins Brot macht (endli wiedrmal was anders als Toast) und Zimtschnecke det isch sehr begehrt. Han müesse 45 Minute ahstah, mit social distancing vo 1.5m chasch der vorstelle wie lang das d'Schlage gsi isch 😂😂 Aber es het sich sowas vo glohnt!

Am Wuchenend hends Lockerige bekannt geh und Halleluja 🙏 ich chan endlich ahfange Reise ab nöchst Wuche. Zwar mit 10 Wuche verspötig aber who cares 😊 han also min Reisefüehrer fürs ersti Mal füregno, söll de ja schliesslich eimal benutzt ha wennen scho immer umeträge 😄 Zwar sind d'Lockerige nur schrittwis d.h. im Moment dörf mer nur im Umchreis vo 500km sich bewegene. Für mich heisst das, dasi nur in Süde dörf (det wos chalt isch und regnet) 🙈😂 Ganz viel Wiigüeter gits zum Glück also weissi was mini Schlechtwetteraktivität isch 😊

Siti am Reise bin und soviel Zit han bini mega hinters choche cho. Mini selbergmachte Gnocchis sind als 1s A gsi 😄 Jetzt wo alles wieder glockeret wird hani au s'erstmal Fish&Chips gha am Strand 😍 Mini Pizza isch naja gsi, ich glaube Aussies mached Pizza nöd selber will sie hend nur Umluft bim Bachove und den wird de Bode also nie chnusbrig 😂🙈 han mehreri Läde abklapperet bisi endli reine Mozzarella gfunde han, chan de huere Cheddar nüm ahluegge 😅

Min Tag bestaht us 70% mit Esse, choche und drüber nahdenke wasi als nöchst chönt esse 😂 Zum Glück machi soviel Yoga dasi nöd ganz en Specki wird 😋

Hauptsach ich han gueti Fötelis 😍💁🏼‍♀️😊

Bis jetzt hani jede Tag mis Ladegrät mit gno wenni mitem Auto weg bin, will mis Handy glichzit au mit Navi isch. Chasch der s'Endi ja denke 😂

Han 100% Akku gha und gfunde ich bruche s'Handy hüt nöd würkli am Strand da ich mis Buech debi han.

En Traumtag gsi, vorallem hets für eimal nöd gwindet 😊 han mini täglichi Yogasession am Strand gmacht und das hani nöd ihberechnet - es het mich soviel akku kostet 🙈 abr da ich ja susch amigs mis Ladegrät debi han und ich au dasmal denkt han dases im Auto isch, hani schön na Fötelis vom Sunneuntergang gmacht und Musik gloset 😄🌅

Woni den im Auto gsi bin mit nurno 4% hani den bemerkt dasi doch keis Ladegrät debi han 🙈🤦‍♀️ han na churz chöne en Blick druff werfe woni ungefähr duremuen und bin de Wäg bereits eimal gfahre also chan das ja nöd so schwer si (hani gmeint) 😅
