While staying at Paco's grandmother we have some time to visit Lima. We started with visiting the 'museo archeologico' to get an overview of Peru's history.

The most modern part of Lima is built on cliffs where you can overlook the Pacific.
Cuzco is known as the cosmopolitan Inca capital and the gateway to Machu Picchu. The main expansion of the Inca empire occurred 100 years prior to the arrival of the conquistadors in 1532.
We leave Cusco early in the morning with a mini and drive to the Manu National Park. We enjoy the landscape while driving subsequently through the highlands, clowd forest, rain forest and low lands.Leer más
Our first stop is at a coca plantation, the leaves are used as a remedy against many diseases. We get to chew some leaves, they are supposed to give us energy.

We leave very early and continue our journey downriver to go into the Reserve Zone on the Manu River, this zone is protected and tourism is strictly controlled.

We go to see the macaws in the early morning, they getter in the trees around the cliff clay before eating the mineral soils. During the walk we saw black spider monkeys jumping from tree to tree.

The sounds of the Amazone change during the night. From birds and monkeys during the day to insects and frogs during the night.
It's time to return back direction Cuzco. But we still take the time to have a walk en spot birds from the watchtower and go for another nightwalk to look for spiders and other insects.
