Oops

    Auvlaki beach

    June 25, 2017 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

Staying at a beach town in the Attiki region of Greece. There are a few sand beaches but I have opted for swimming by the rocks away from the crowds. The local beach goers tend to be Athenians and not international tourists. There is a nice beach bar/restaurant here that is quite busy. There is an organized pay beach with loungers and showers, but I prefer the crystal clear water by the rocks.Read more

    Porto Rafti

    June 25, 2017 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

This is a beautiful resort town where many Athenians own or rent beach homes. Here are some interesting wiki facts: The port was a major trading place until the collapse of the Roman Empire. The names of the ancient villages were Prasiai, Steiria and Koroni. They belonged to the Pandionis phyle according to the division of Ancient Athens Democracy made by Clisthenes in the early 5th century BC. The port of Porto Rafti is no longer in use due to environmental concerns. This port was the scene of the allied troops' evacuation after the German invasion in Greece at the end of April 1941.Read more
