    • Day 8

      Napoli

      July 8, 2022 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

After a long sightseeing day I went to L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele where I had the best Pizza in Italy, at least that is what my Italian colleague told me.

After i finished my Pizza I started thinking about what else can life offer me. I have been to so many places, seen such beautiful things and now also eaten the best Pizza in Italy, which a actually implies to have had the best in the world.

Now I have seen it all. And yes to bring back a bit of this delicious Marinana I put some on my shirt, as we no cotton fabric is a good material of conservation.

A day looking around Napoli, where we saw:
      - a big key
      - some odd churches
      - the university of Napoli (which has a pretty dedicated extremist student body)
      - excellent meatball subs
      - a trip through the Sansevero Chapel (not pictured, but it had some excellent sculptures)Read more

    • Day 6

      Eine Kapelle und ein Graffo

      March 19, 2018 in Italy ⋅ 🌧 9 °C

    • Day 9

      Napoli

      October 17, 2021 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

In the morning we drove 1.5 hrs to Napoli where we took a great Airbnb experience tour and then went to Napoli Roman Archeological museum with the best collection of Roman statues and mosaics, mostly from the Pompei excavations. We listened to Rick Steve’s tour of the museum and then did 1.5 hrs walk by Rick Steve’s as well. I fell in love with Napoli - you can definitely feel the grit, and it’s famous Memento Vivi zest for life. We then had amazing pizza in the Pizzeria Da Michelle, made famous by the movie Eat Pray Love.Read more

    • Day 10

      Napoli

      March 12, 2022 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 10 °C

Ah, Naples at night. What a magical place the old town is. Far more bohemian than my ill informed image held. I was on an evening food tour, and if you've been in Naples, you know how distracting that is! So these are pictures in the old town that has tremendous energy, not least because it's home to universities. So I'll mention what these photos are as much as I remember. (Not that Limoncello had anything to do with my memory.
The 1st picture is the entrance to the Naples underground. This is an archaeological site that open up the original Greek streets and buildings from more than 2,000 years ago.
The 2nd picture is an 11th century bell tower built for a former church that's been built over. So, the bottom several meters of the tower are buried from the previous street level up to the current level.
The 3rd and 4th pictures are 2 of the main piazzas in the old town. They are central meeting points.
The 5th picture looks over the Saturday night crowd along one of the main streets. And the last picture is in a small local limoncello factory. And yes, their products are top shelf.
