Thresher Sharks in MalapascuaFebruary 23 on the Philippines ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C
Malapascua is a very relaxed and not-so-touristy island in the north of Cebu. Mainly divers hang around here, but I think it also offers very nice beaches for non-divers.
Divers come here for the Tresher Sharks. They actually live 300 - 500m deep in the ocean but every morning they swim to a 30m deep plateau to get cleaned. You can visit the cleaning station every morning at around 6 a.m. in the morning. I did this dive twice and it was amazing 😍 the sharks are very afraid of bubbles, so make sure you hold your breath when they approach you 😁
I also did a night dive (saw a rare bamboo shark) and two further dives to see 2m long white tip reef sharks. 🦈🦈🦈
Can't believe my 6 week adventure in Philippines is already over 😓 this is an amazing country with a stunning nature. I think the locals are very very friendly (heard other travellers say something different) and the food is not that bad either 😅Read more
