    Cycling in Turia Park

    September 3, 2019 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

After our paella experience, we stopped past the ancient silk exchange building and headed to Turia Park - this park runs all the way through the city in what used to be the riverbed, which was diverted many years ago.

We hired a 4 person bike - reminiscent of the crazy crocodile bikes along Oriental Bay in Wellington.
The park itself wasnt too impressive - not the stretch we were in at least - but it was good fun and we stopped of for icecream on the way.

Our final evening in Valencia was spent at home relaxing, recuperating and doing washing, with an excellent pizza from the local restaurant to top it off.

    My Way to Valencia

    November 25, 2019 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

After two days of Barcelona we packed our things together and started to drive in direction of south. The boys brought me to a roundabout, where i started to hitchhiike. It took a bit till i got my first lift to Tarragona. He took me to a drive-up of the highway. There i spent nearly 2h of waiting till i decided to go to the city and try another route. In Tarragona i had the same problem as in Straßburg. Then a women brought me to a gas station nearby the highway in hope i can find a lift there. Nevertheless, nobody at this gas station drove in my direction. After two or three hours i gave up and hitchhiiked to the next train station. From there i took the train to Valencia. In Valencia i met my cousin Milan, who does a semester abroad.Read more

    Valencia, my favourite building, ever!

    September 13, 2019 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

I know these buildings from my time, when I had been working as a car designer.
It was often used as a background for new showcars as it looks so futuristic. And I am really impressed if I stand in reality in front of them!
Could be taken for a James Bond movie and everyone would say :"Nice 3D animation!", haha

    Valencia Spain on Sunday

    September 18, 2017 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Can't seem to beat the rain these days. But it held off and we took the port shuttle to the edge of town then got on the hop on off bus to see the sights. Unfortunately the roads down town were closed for a family bike event so we got off the bus and walked in. Den found a church service being held by the arch bishop! The rest of us waited at McDonald's lol. Headed back to the ship by cab early as the roads were busy and had to be aboard by 4. Did some packing and enjoyed a last dinner with prime rib.
I think it has been a fantastic trip but we are likely all ready to go home. I'll fill in more details when I get home.

    Valencia, Spain

    April 19, 2016 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

Had a great trip from Barcelona on the Remfe train. Heaps of space to move around. Better than the Montpellier to Barcelona trip and no rude French conductors tyring to fine you.
The weather is amazing again for us.
We are staying at the Dimar hotel, it is amazing. Love this hotel and it is a far cry from the crap we stayed in in Barcelona. Little bit of road noise but nothing compaired to Barcelona hotel.
Walked around the old city on the first afternoon and got lost. Walked for hours. Lovely old city and has a great vibe to it. More relaxed though addmitadly it is Sunday and nothing much open. Ate too much again of course. Paela and potos bravos.
Next day in Valencia we did a bike tour. What a fantastic way to see the city. The guide was fantastic. This was booked through Viator (Valencia bike tour). It went for 3 hours at a good pace and mostly used the park land which is so peaceful and beutiful. Visited a few places of interest as well and out guide even minded the bikes while we went into the barcilica. It was not much to look at from the front but the inside was spectacular. The wind was up today so it was quite cool and needed a jacket otherwise we would not have needed one. The weather is sunny though they were predicting rain. Doesn't even look like rain. Nice to see the weather people can't get it right here either. They are consistant all over the world. Paela agian for lunch with salad and the nicest olives I have ever tasted.

    Park Gulliver

    October 10, 2019 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Read more

    Estadía (2/2): Valencia

    June 1, 2017 in Spain ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

    Palau de la musica

    June 7, 2019 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C
