😡Gestern haben wir unsere Zelte abgebrochen und uns auf den Weg nach Hause gemacht. Leider sind wir nicht weit gekommen.
Jetzt stehen wir bei Spätzle Fritz und haben zum Glück noch einen Platz ergattert, denn aktuell geht in Richtung Frankreich wohl gar nichts mehr.
Erstaunlicherweise wird weder in den sozialen Medien und erst recht nicht in der deutschen Presse darüber berichtet, dass in Frankreich alle Autobahnen gesperrt sind. Die Bauern haben schon seit Montag die Straßen blockiert und an ein Durchkommen ist kein denken. Es hat angeblich sogar schon eine Tote und mehrere Schwerverletzte gegeben.
Niemand berichtet darüber - erst Recht nicht in der deutschen Presse. Nicht, dass sich am Ende die Bauern, die übrigens auch in anderen Ländern protestieren, zu einer Revolution zusammenschließen.
Wir kommen an so gut wie keine Informationen, wie es weitergehen wird und wie lange wir hier festsitzen werden.
Gestern kam ein Pärchen mit einem kleinen Bulli an, die erzählten, sie haben etwa 12h für 150km durch Frankreich benötigt.
Wir sind für jede Information dankbar. Also wer etwas in Erfahrung bringen kann, ob und wann es endlich weitergeht...

Guadalest & Bernia

To try and forget the fact that we work on Saturdays, we often leave on a trip right after. This time, we visited El Castell de Guadalest, a beautiful medieval village located at the top of a steep rocky crag, surrounded by impressive mountains. We found the perfect camp spot 🚐 right next to its bright blue reservoir.

On Sunday, it was time for some action! We climbed on a cool limestone formation in Guadalest, drove to the Sierra de Bernia and hiked for more than 5 hours. It was quite a challenging hike, involving some rock scrambles, cable traverses & steep climbs (Miel had to carry the dogs more than once). The magnificent views from the top, the cool ruins of the fort and the tunnel cave made it absolutely worth it! We rewarded ourselves with an Indian rooftop dinner in Altea's old town to end our perfect weekend :).Read more

Dieser schwer zu findende SP ist angelegt wie ein CP. Der Platzwart spricht englisch, wie die meisten Gäste auch britischer Herkunft sind. Auch viele Dauercamper haben sich hier bereits eingefunden. Der kleine Pool am Platz ist schon etwas besonderes, wenn auch nicht unbedingt einladend. Der Weg in die Stadt ist fußläufig kaum zu bewerkstelligen.Read more

Costa Brava Road Trip

Hello from the road. A lot has happened since the last time we used this site! But to skip over all that, we departed for Palafrugell on the Costa Brava and have made it half way. It was 38 degrees which is the perfect temperature to have your air conditioning break, so tomorrow we are hoping the Volvo dealer in Gandía can help us out! We managed to arrive in our guesthouse near Altea without dying of dehydration and then spent the rest of the day in nearby Calpe which has a rock to rival Gibraltar. Surprised to see that nearby Benidorm has skyscrapers! The coast here is generally dramatic. Altea reminds us of Estepona. Touristy but pleasant. English more common than Spanish. We have the guesthouse to ourselves. See you tomorrow!Read more

The weather returned to what we had come to expect; sunny with some clouds and 16 C.
As usual, we left around 10 a.m. but this time checked the internet to confirm our route.
Our day trip this time was a half hour jaunt north to a pretty town called Polop. Amazingly the van’s GPS found the town easily (it probably knew we were checking it).

We parked near an “I” which to our surprise was open, and got a local map and a brief history of a famous Spanish author, Gabriel Miro, who had lived there. Back in the van, we wound our way through narrow streets, up the mountain (again) to the old town. We were forced to walk the last kilometre, past small houses, a church, through a small square to the remains of the castle. Almost at the top, there was a small bar/cafe. We stopped for coffee, delicious croissants and a magnificent view.

That evening we returned to Lings, a restaurant we had visited the first night. The staff is friendly, the food delicious and it was a lovely ending to our stay.Read more

Polop nos recibe con sus fiestas patronales. San Francisco de Asís. Unai disfruta con ver a niños jugando, petardos sonando, y una banda tocando en la procesión que seguimos por todo el pueblo.

Música, esa que mantiene las tradiciones de los pueblos, acompañada de las campanadas de la Iglesia, esa que emociona, alegra y aviva el corazón. Asombrado, entusiasmado y contento sigue Unai con la mirada a cada uno de los instrumentos, cada uno de los trajes típicos, cada una de las emociones de las otras personas.

Izei duerme plácidamente. Con ternura, con amor 🧡.

Sin duda alguna, la improvisación nos conduce a momentos únicos. Qué bien disfrutarlo en familia 🥰.Read more
