Mocht je je dit ooit afvragen? Loop gewoon naar het plein in het centrum en daar staat altijd wel in koeienletters de naam van de plaats. 😀

Tip: sluit niet aan in de rij mensen die een foto of selfie willen maken. Fotografeer de naam in spiegelbeeld en spiegel achteraf de foto. Werkt super!!Meer informatie

In Vitoria - Gasteiz verfehle ich die richtige Abzweigung und lande in einem besonderen Viertel mit besetzten Häusern.

Ich treffe einen jungen Mann, der mir einige Informationen gibt, und finde abends diesen bemerkenswerten Artikel über den Ort.

Obwohl er schon älter ist und zeigt, dass die Community alle Bestrebungen der politischen Parteien überstanden hat, den Ort zu räumen, ist der Artikel aber sehr aufschlussreich.

El padre de Dani se va a buscarle al aeropuerto y su madre, Guilherme y yo vamos a dar una vuelta por las calles. Hace bastante frío y ella se siente un poco responsable por haberme dicho que no hacía tanto.

Aunque yo no estoy tan mal, ella me ve muy desabrigado y me compra un pañuelo muy bonito en Natura 🥺 ya tengo primer souvenir de Vitoria 🧣

Luego vamos a tomar café y mientras tanto llegan Dani y su padre 🤙🏼 momento de empezar con el Pintxo Pote, una modalidad nueva para mí: A diferencia de la tapa, el pintxo se pide por separado, suele ser más grande, más elaborado y los hay fríos y calientes. Vendría a ser una tapa “fashion” 😉

He de decir que me cuesta un poco encontrar opciones vegetarianas pero lo consigo y me siento orgulloso de ello. Sin embargo los padres de Dani no me dejan pagar nada. Literalmente se aprovechan de conocer a los camareros para que no me hagan ni caso cuando voy a pagar 🥲

Me resigno, ya que es el cumpleaños del padre de Dani y le hace ilusión invitarnos a todos. Realmente me siento muy integrado en su familia y, tras visitar una cantidad interminable de bares (mínimo 8 según mi cronología de Google Maps), acabamos tomándonos una copita y bailando al ritmo de Rosalía 🍸😌

Admito que ha sido muy difícil seguir el ritmo en la app Untappd con todas las cervezas nuevas que he probado, más que por el número de cervezas, por la velocidad a la que comemos, bebemos y cambiamos de bar OMGMeer informatie

Short day to Vitoria

I slept in till 7, made a coffee with my spiffy electric coil, and by 7:45 or so we were ambling our way to Vitoria, capital of the Basque Country.

We passed a turn-off for a 2 km detour to the region’s “jewel of Romanesque” but since it is Monday and the church is closed, I passed on the chance to see the outside.

We did go through a little town with a church with a Romanesque and doorway. Closed too, of course.

The city of Vitoria has a beautiful downtown medieval core (was a walled city). Since the albergue didn’t open for almost two hours, we opted for a cheap pension in the old quarter. It’s fine.

Currently icing my knee. Nothing to do before the 5 pm Cathedral tour except eat lunch, so I will rest up for a while now.Meer informatie

Tarde de turismo en Vitoria ⛪

Alegría es saber que solo hemos trabajado esta mañana y empezamos antes de tiempo el fin de semana.

Guilherme y yo vamos al centro de Vitoria con los padres de Dani y, tras ir a almorzar a varios sitios diferentes en un corto espacio de tiempo, ya empiezo a ver el ritmo que va a tomar la tarde 🍢😸🍺

Después vamos a visitar el centro de la ciudad y también entramos en la Catedral de Vitoria, visita que me gusta muchísimo y me parece que tiene un plus respecto a las visitas de catedrales en otras ciudades.

💡 Esta en concreto empezó a construirse en la Edad Media. Sin embargo, pasó por un proceso de construcción que se extendió a lo largo de varios siglos, lo que resultó en una mezcla de estilos arquitectónicos. En cuanto a la reparación constante, la catedral de Vitoria requiere un mantenimiento constante para preservar su estructura.

La visita me encanta y, por suerte, la nubes se van cuando llegamos a la parte alta y tenemos unas vistas preciosas de la ciudad 🤗Meer informatie

Stoppover am Schwimmbad

Für nur 4 Euro für beide haben wir uns einen Wellnessabend gegönnt. Erstmal ausgiebig Duschen und dann Whirlpool, Schwimmen und Saunen - herrlich!!
Draußen hat’s geregnet und auch innen war danach vieles nass… unsere für Wellness ungeeigneten, ziemlich dünnen Handtücher sind nur sehr sehr langsam trocken geworden.
Die Nacht war ruhig und am nächsten Morgen wollten wir auch weiter Richtung Segovia und Madrid.Meer informatie
