Allmendhubel

Over rainy, cold & just a flutter of snow today so we decided to brave the elements, take the cog train to Allmendhubel, do the wild flower walk and then hike back down to Murren. Despite the weather it was a beautiful hike.

Today we left Geneva and headed to Interlarken. We are staying high up the valley at Stechelberg. We did stop at Guere on the way, the home of the famous Swiss cheese. The village of Guyere sits high on a hill, has its own castle and is attacked daily by a mass of buses and tourists. We then droveRead more
Lauterbrunnen one of our favourite places —enjoy +++
Thanks for more memories!
Interlaken is where Jim spent one night in hospital (Kidney Stone). $10,000NZ for one night - so try and avoid that place! Lois

This morning we had several options, most of which included going way up into the hills via a gondola moving on cables... No, thank you!! Neither of us were inclined to torture ourselves. We made our way to breakfast at 9:30, then decided to walk on a trail to Lauterbrunnen.
Had some fun in the evening with an Alpenhorn demonstration. We all got to try it, and I did better than I thought I would.
We had dinner all together after. The dining room had lots of flies. One thing we never saw in Europe were screens on windows. It was only a problem at this hotel. They saidRead more
