      Um Alex seinen Geburtstag zu feiern sind wir zu einer Rooftop Party am Broadway mit Blick auf das Empire State Building šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ ā¤ļøšŸŽ‚

      Ich war kurz Getränke holen, komme zurück und Alex ist umringt von 7 Leuten aus California šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ waren aber sehr nett, wir haben uns noch 2 Stunden unterhalten.

      Edit Alex: ich hab 2 Leuten unsere beiden freien Sessel angeboten aber es waren dann 4 und haben sich zu uns auf die Bank gesetzt. Und es waren 3 gebürtige Japaner und ein Koreaner, die aber irgendwie alle in der US aufgewachsen sind.      Read more

      Am Morgen gings für Mirco erst ins Training šŸƒšŸ¼‍ā™‚ļø

      Da unser Hotel diesmal zweckmässig und günstig neben dem Flughafen ist, haben wir Manhattan via Hotel-Shuttel, Airtrain & Zug in 1h erreicht. Dann waren wir aber mittendrin šŸ¤©
      Times Square ist ein Muss! Hochgelaufen zum Central Park haben wir uns ein Velo gemietet und sind ans andere (Richtung Harlem) gefahren und wieder zurück šŸš“šŸ¼‍ā™€šŸš“šŸ¼
      Sooo schön im Frühling im Central Park!

      Die 5th Av runter zum Busterminel, der und dann ins Outlet gebracht hat šŸ›ļø
      Aufgeschrieben, was wir alles möchten/brauchen, haben wir nach 5h nur einen Bruchteil der geplanten Ausbeute ergattert šŸ˜£

      06:00 Uhr Treffpunkt am FRA Flughafen
      08:45 Uhr mit Singapur Airlines in die Luft. Raus aus Europa, rein nach Amerika šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø
      11:00 Uhr gelandet in NYC
      11:30 Uhr eingereist nach NYC
      16:30 Uhr im Hotel angekommen, da die Shuttelfirma eine Vollkatastrophe war
      17:30 Uhr eingecheckt & das Zimmer bezogen, weil das Hotel scheinbar nicht mit putzen hinterher kam …

      Umgezogen ging es dann nochmal um die 4 Ecken. Pizza war das Ziel. Hat nur teilweise geklappt. Mit Hunger suchen ohne Internet ist nicht so einfach. Zwei Stück Pizza & zwei Burger sind es dann zu Beginn geworden.
      21:00 Uhr hieß es dann: Äuglein zu & Kraft tanken für die kommenden Tage

      Located in Manhattan's NoMad district, The Evelyn Hotel celebrates the heritage of one of NYC's most historic neighborhoods. In 1903, when our hotel was originally designed by William H. Birkmire, the area known as Tin Pan Alley was the epicenter of the American music industry. During its heyday in the early 20th century, Tin Pan Alley was buzzing with Broadway and vaudeville performers, musicians, and songwriters, including George Gershwin, coming and going to the music houses.



      Built in the Beaux Arts style, our historic hotel opened in 1905 as Hotel Broztell. In 1992 it was the Gershwin Hotel. Following a multi-million-dollar renovation and a name change as a tribute to Evelyn Nesbit, the original it girl, The Evelyn Hotel was reintroduced in 2017. A transformation of the hotel's spaces, rooms, and dining concepts in summer 2018 showcases the Art Nouveau style of the early 1900's and design nods to the building's music and art heritage.       Dancing at broadway dance centre

      Anouk found a great place for some breakfast pancakes. Because who is going to America with having pancakes at breakfast right? So we decided to walk there, it was only a 30 min walk.

      The plan of the day was follow some dance classes and soho. Since the others didn’t want to follow the same classes as I wanted we decided to split up again. I walked back because it was a 40/45 min walk and I had some time to kill. I love walking through a city alone. And I had some trust issues with the subway because that was the reason I couldn’t make it yesterday.

      I stopped to grabbed a fresh smoothie because I was craving something ‘healthy’. But damn. That was not fun, it was nearly $10!? How is soda $1 and something good for your body $10???? I still can’t believe it.

      Yesterday I already saw where bdc was located because it was next to the theatre of moulin rouge. I got in and waited for the class to begin. I was planning on doing theater jazz and jazz funk. Jazz funk was really something we in the Netherlands call commercial, but it was suuuuper fun. I really enjoyed the 3 hours of dancing. After that I grabbed a subway back to the Airbnb and grabbed a quick lunch (dunking donuts). To find that the others were already back and waiting for me. So I showered super quick, got dressed and we went straight to SOHO.      Read more

      Rokefellera centrs

      Ar Rokefellera centru arÄ« šoreiz viss negāja tik gludi. Izrādās, ka es biju nopircis biļetes uz Top of the Rock vienu dienu par ātru. Par laimi kamēr vēl Santjago barojām parkā putnus paralēli ar e-pastiem izdevās sabÄ«dÄ«t lietas un iedeva jaunas biļetes uz mums vajadzÄ«go datumu un laiku bez nekādām papildus maksām.
      Sākumā atgriezušies Lielajā ābolā dodamies uz Centrālparku, kur apskatām dažas vietas, kur pagaišajā reizē nepaguvām. Piemēram Bethesda Fountain, kuru zinu no Džona Vika filmām un noteikti vēl daudzām citām. Interesanti. PalÄ«kumojām vēl pa mazajām taciņām un Strawberry Fields klajumiem. Uz Bow Bridge notika masÄ«va kāzinieku foto sesija. ArÄ« šoreiz satikām daudz vāveres, kuras katra risina kaut kādas savas problēmas un nemaz neliekas cilvēku traucētas. Aizgājām arÄ« lÄ«dz Belverde Castle un Cleopatra's Needle. Brīžiem grÅ«ti saprast, kāpēc tik ļoti dažādi no konteksta izrauti objekti šeit atrodas. Ko Ņujorkas Centrālajā parkā dara kaut kāds Ēģiptes Kleopatras obelisks?
      Pēc pastaigas sagribas nedaudz ēst. Piestājam Centrālparka Zoo kafejnÄ«cā, lai lieki nesarežģītu šo procesu ieejot atpakaļ pilsētas ielās. Es apēdu čīzburgeri, Madarai vēl iekšiņa nav lÄ«dz galam atdzÄ«vojusies, tāpēc apēda tikai jogurtu ar musli.
      ŠÄ« atdzÄ«vojās, kad paspÄ«dēja iespēja aiziet lÄ«dz Maicy veikalam. Kāda stunda laika mums šim pasākumam bija, ko Madara arÄ« lietderÄ«gi realizēja. Viena MK somiņa kabatā. Cilvēks priecÄ«gs.
      Laiks doties uz galveno šodienas objektu - Top of the Rock. Nedaudz līņā lietus, bet cik izskatās no ielas lÄ«meņa baigi tam nevajadzētu traucēt skatam. Mums biļetes bija uz 16:50, bet bijām krietni ātrāk. Tā kā bija maz cilvēku, tad mÅ«s uzreiz arÄ« ielaida. OktobrÄ« gan iekšÄ, gan uz ielas bija bezgalÄ«ga rinda. Šoreiz kā VIP bosi pa tukšiem gaiteņiem ejam uz liftu.
      Uzbraukuši augšÄ uzreiz acu priekšÄ visā krāšÅ†umā Empire State building. Fonā tālumā redzam arÄ« One World trade center milzi. Pa visu terasi ir tikai daži cilvēki tāpēc brÄ«vi varam staigāt apkārt. Otrā pusē redzams praktiski viss Centrālparks. Starp lietus mākoņiem ik pa brÄ«dim izlaužas kāds saules stars, kas parka zaļos kokus iekrāso spilgtos toņos. Viegli līņā lietus, bet nekad neesam bijuši tik gatavi lietum kā šajā ceļojumā, tāpēc neliekamies traucēti.
      Tā kā pēc šÄ« objekta jādodas atpakaļ uz lidostu, tad steigties negribam, pasēžam un vienkārši pabaudām Ņujorkas panorāmu. Skats tomēr ir diezgan unikāls, kuram pielÄ«dzināt varbÅ«t var tikai kādu no Āzijas megapolēm. PatÄ«k mums Ņujorka! Lai arÄ« šoreiz šo skatu redzam krietni ātrāk nekā varējām iedomāties oktobrÄ«, kad pirmo reizi bijām NY, bet jāsaka tāpat kā toreiz - jāskatās, kamēr ir, jo nezini kad nākošreiz ko tādu redzēsi.       230 Fifth Rooftop Bar

      Als Abschluss unseres New York Aufenthalts haben wir noch eine Rooftop Bar besucht. Die Auswahl war gar nicht so leicht. Rooftop Bars gibt es wie “Sand am Meer” in New York. Schlussendlich haben wir uns für eine, laut Google, Szene Bar entschieden. Die Rooftop Bar war auf zwei Ebenen aufgeteilt. Die eine Ebene war mit einem DJ ausgestattet und war vergleichbar mit einem klassischen Club. Die zweite Ebene war die klassische Rooftop bar mit einem direkten Blick aufs Empire State Building. Aber auch an diesem Abend haben wir nicht besonders lange ausgehalten. Die viele Bewegung den gesamten Tag über macht sich am Abend recht früh durch die Müdigkeit bemerkbar.Read more
