This is my favorite part of Oahu. It has a more remote vibe and the scenery is amazing. There are some small towns along the way that have some sweet shops and great food stops.
We hung out at sunsetLes mer
The 3rd highlight of the day was Sunset Beach on the North Shore, about another 45 minutes up the coastal highway past all the fresh shrimp trucks. Sunset Beach is one of 3 surfing meccas on the NorthLes mer

The surf was sick. But no swimming for us today.
Always a pleasure even for the third time.
One of my favorite food places on this island 🍌🥥🍍

At Sunset Beach on the North Shore. I admit there were more people on the beach looking the other way, but only a couple of dozen. This is part of the 'seven mile miracle' of great (winter) surfing beaches which include the Banzai Pipeline. Apparently surfing comps don't take place unless the waves exceed 20'. Last year for the Eddie comp the waves were consistently 45-50'. Totally incomprehensible given today's near millpond!
