Always a good place to see in which country I got lost this time, on top of some random pictures of cool (or at least interesting) places and people that I bump into in my journey and some arbitrary facts and stories of my nomad life. Read more

    August 21, 2023, Great Barrier Reef ⋅ 🌬 22 °C

Original plan was to be picked up right after my last day at work to go on a boat adventure with Liv and G (the lovely english girls) and drive to Darwin from there. The thing was that... Maxi, the car they bought from french (and human) Max wasn't the best (never ever buy a car from a backpacker please), so plans changed a bit. The girls flew to Proserpine for a few days after my disappointment on them not enjoying their time in Australia because of a car. Jay drove us to the boat and we started this beautiful jorney together. Water cristal blue, green untouched islands, sky strong and hot but matching the landscape and strong wint taking us to the most paradisiac destinations. Visited Whitehaven (considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world), snorkeled in the reef, saw a few whales (I struggled a bit with that part) and big green turtles, hiked a bit some islands, admired how the crew sailed with the boat and ate and relaxed as a queen. The boat group was pretty nice, got along really well with a canarian guy called Otto, with whom we sang and remembered the best spanish hits that created such a nice night with the guitar and so much talent. After tons of sunscreen and excitement, came back to land (the world was moving for a while) had dinner with everyone in a rather disappointing venue and had a few drinks until my eyes couldn't stay open any more. Next morning gave a bigbig hug to my girls and jumped on a bus to my next advenure.

📍Essentials: Broomstick 3 days Sailing tour, Whitehaven beach, Inlet lookout, snorkel in the great barrier reef, Langford Island
    🏠 Accommodation: Broomstick boat
🔎 Some facts: Last movie of Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed in Whitehaven beach (when he finds the hearts treasure chest), but the beach had no palm treas so they planted hundreds of them just for the movie and after filming planted them in Airlie Beach (that's where the waterfront palm trees come from).

  • Cape Gloucester last part (🌡️0 days)

    August 14, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

After quitting my job (and completing my 88 days yaaay) my relationship with the place drastically changed. I felt loved, appreciated and considered for the first time, I felt more relaxed and welcomed and started joining the group a lot more. Started going kayaking with Jay in the mornings sometimes, and had some interesting nights such as visiting Georgie's boyfriend's boss' boat, Johns drunk appearance with lots of shots and cocktails, crocodrile spotting with jay, cocktails with julie, bbq with julie and mathis, and lots of nightd with everyone. I clearly drank a lot and lost myself a bit on the way (but it was still fun and temporary). Once getting to the end, it was nice to lesve all the drama and intensity behind, but also sad to leave a home abd a family as well.

📍Essentials: sunset cocktail from Cape G resort, spot crocs in Proserpine river (highest concentration of crocodiles in Queensland), party in Airlie (Paddy's is my fav place), go fishing with the locals and say mate in every sentence with a xxxx gold and a fishing shirt , coral bay, skydive or flight on top of the reef, kayak or paddle to frog rock and shag island, watch the stars from secret beach (and have a bbq), make a fire in the beach, jump on the boats mooring on the coast (get invited first though)

  • Cape Gloucester 3rd part (🌡️44 days)

    June 28, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Time went on in paradise. My attention was on the cocktail menu that I was given the opportunity to make, which was a nice challenge for me. Getting closer to the end was time to start warning everyone. To be honest I was excited for what was next cape G, but the closer I got to the end I enjoyed more the little things from the place, such as the sunsets, making new cocktails for the staff to try or the small conversations with everyone. On the meantime I went skydiving with everyone (including Dumpy!), Will came to visit, got invited on a boat from a stranger by his skipper, weird crazy Françoise, had some nice nightd with the crew and Dingo joining and we went to Cedar creeks and had a crazy night in Airlie with Jay, Max, Mathis and Julie.Read more

  • Cape Gloucester 2 part (🌡️67 days)

    May 29, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

Cape Gloucester, regardless being a stunning hidden gem, was a tough one to be honest. Struggled a lot with feeling part of and had countless really bad days. Nevertheless, started getting closer to the english girls and started to really love them, started doing pasta nights once a week when we'd cook together, and really enjoyed my time off writting, reading, and even making puzzles. Some of the crew came back as Sukh and Fred, a kind couple in love with Australia, or sweet Emm, the now sous chef. Started to get to know more the regulars and to advance with the restaurant doing things such as table service or tons of specials (something that I needed for myself). Still was starting to get tired of hospitality, and couldn't stop counting the days to go on my next adventure.Read more

  • Cape Gloucester (88 days🌡️)

    May 10, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌬 24 °C

After settling down in Tasmania and starting to call it a home, moving to the next place wasn't an easy challenge. Dumpy, and interesting man with a big cowboy hat, picked me up from the airport, took me to get some snacks and basics and drove me to what would be my new home. He was quiet, and when he spoke it was hard to understand him, he had a big cooler full of beers that he would pop up every 5 minutes (during an hour drive), and he was driving in the crazy dirt road towards Cape Gloucester clearly above speed limit. This doesn't look like the Australia I've seen before with all its rules and correct people - I thought to myself - this is gonna be interesting. Just from the arrival got a small tour and introduction to the facilities and left in my new home (a small basic container), where I realised that the snacks I got and sunscream that I got for myself weren't clearly gonna be enough for me to survive in here. On my first week got to meet must of the crew, everyone as nice, welcoming and kind as they could be; Matt who kinda played the role as bar manager, the two french couples living with me, Juliette, Matis, Lea and Max; Gemma who lived in her van, the two english girls Georgia and Liv, Jay the substitute chef, scary Josh, Scottie the manager, Carol from reception, and some of the cute juniors that worked with us. It was a few weeks of adjusting, to a new home that I slowly refurnished and made it look a bit less like a prison cell, understanding the people and the bar, and understanding that this was a different type of place to what I was used to. The levels of the cocktails got me a bit tense at the beginning, and I was feeling sad and frustrated that I had to refuse such an amazing offer for this, where no one seemed to care about what I knew and how I did things. I guess my ambition was fighting against the beauty of the place. But with time I started to get to know everyone, to appreciate the freedom and chill from the bar and enjoy the beauty of this paradisiac beach I was living in. Went on a couple of escapes to Airlie Beach to get some fresh air, had some amazing food from all the specials than Jay the chef experimented with, put some specials cocktails on the bar, had a few beers with the guys, started doing yoga every morning before work and enjoyed some stunning sunset runs every day off I had. To be honest, I still need some time to love and call this place a home, but its not the worst place to be trapped in for a few months, that's for sure.Read more

    May 9, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 15 °C

Express stop and visit to Brisbane. The only reason why I decided to stay here was so I could see Seb, one of the guys I did my motorbike trip of North Vietnam. I went for a walk around the city, visited the botanical gardens at night (which was beautiful and interesting), walked along the river and processed the big change that was happening in my life. After that, had a drink in Felons. It was so nice to catch up, see what we both had been to since our last goodbye in the gas station of Bâo Lac, we remembered all the crazy stories that happened to us and went through the pictures and memories that we had from our spontaneous and crazy adventure. After that, walked back and woke up to my new destination: Airlie Beach.

  • Hobart, last part 🐸 (sad frog)

    May 7, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 10 °C

Last stay in Hobart was a big deal of confused and mixed feelings. It got cold, really cold (for someone who had been chasing summer for more than a year), rainy and dark. Everyone was leaving, Hobart was quiet and empty. But still, regardless I kept convincing myself that it was time, that I was ready to leave, kept feeling like I was leaving my home behind. Most of my time I was working at the Den, even though I had to say no to the 3IC position I got offered because of my visa, knowing that it was gonna go to someone else, still worked on a cocktail for the venue, kept getting trainings and learned so much from Mateo and the guys at the Den. On my time off I'd spend it with Mateo, Sara and the guys at the frog. Spent some time with Ella and Mak as well, and made some other friends outside. At the same time, found a job near Airlie Beach bartending where they required cocktail knowledge. It was a fact, time to go do my 88 days. Had a staff party at work themed as milfs and dilfs in a yatch party where I won the price as gild (grandma you would fuck), we went on a ferry, did some ceramics, had a fancy dinner and tons of drinks on the way, which was an interesting night for me with lots to think about. On my last night made a chocolate milk gin cocktail (because it was literally everything I had left in my bag) and went to the Den for my last drink and Mankie Sally's to give Ella and Leo my last hug, the new venue in Salamanca from Mona museum where my friend Santosh worked at with Bubu, Will, Clemant, Jonny and Tim (last gang remaining). Next morning had morning with Mateo and he took me to the airport to fly to my new adventure, unsure of how excited about leaving this magical place behind.Read more

  • Hobart 4.0

    April 14, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Most people were gone at this point. Ky and Ana were in the grampians with Camila and Oshin, Isaac was in Europe, Kylian in the states, Romina and Loic found a job in a fish farm and Armand, Luca and Max were up north in Devonport. The place became colder and more and more empty. It was actually nice, I enjoyed the quiet, being more of a small and tight group, and feeling like Hobart was our den. Became tighter to Sara and Julianne, and started making preparations for my departure. Inwas originally gonna go to Cairns, where I'd meet Ky and get a car. David was gonna go as well, and some of the guys were planning to slowly road trip there. So it was exciting. But many people started talking about how hard it was finding a job up there. I started getting stressed about not being able to extend. On the meantime, kept exploring the nightlife of hobart and enjoying fancy breakfasts, going climbing with Mateo and taking some of my friends every now and then like Bubu, Clemand and Sara. Even went for some climbing excursions once or twice.

🍸Drinks: Society (fav bar so far), the Den, Whiskey Bar, Pablo's Bar, Maq10 for fancy

Day trip with Anna. I was a bit tired after finishing work very late and waking up so early, but still so excited to visit my wild island and spend some time with Anna. Took a shuttle and a ferry to get there and rented some bikes. Anna obviously, led and was in charge of everything (she is german). We saw wombats, kangaroos, padymelons, kookaburras... The island was so wild and untouched, such a blast. Even though our original plan was to go for two days, we had to cut it in two because the shuttle was fully booked. I did sleep a lot everytime I had the chance to sit down (pretty exhausted), but couldn't have been happier with this short escape.

  • Hobart third part 🐸

    March 16, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

The frog became more and more of a home (even more after Jamie got us a fridge for our room), the Den became such am exciting learning source where I got to create a cocktail for the menu, started prebatching the house cocktails and had some nice trainings. Got offered a 3IC position, which I was so excited about, but so many obstacles appeared in my way, some mental, others real. Insecurities, pressure, doubts... Kept appearing and reappiring in many shapes telling me I wasn't suit for the position; but at the same time so much curiosity, interest and motivation came next to it. But the truth was that I couldn't fin a visa that would alloow me to stay. After many lawyer meetings, so much research and lots of frustration, I had to refuse the job offer and give my notice. Now I had to start figuring out what to do next.
Even though my work life was a big proragonist of my life, I also started hanging out a lot with my boss, Mateo; and started doing some plans and feeling more confortable with my work collegues, such as Ella, Leo, Mak and Santosh. I started feeling like I was becomming part of the comunity.

Went on a day trip to see glowing worms with Sara, Till and Beaunoit. Got into the cave very unprepared and, me, as always thinking that I can and know more than I do, decided to go further where you needed an "experienced leader". Went through reallyreally narrow holes (Till, big german guy, couldn't even make it and Sara thought she was getting stuck). It was so fun to get into this adventurous cave, but we didn't feel brave enough to go too far. On the way back we realised that the glowing warms where in the entrance cause you needed some water to see them, and afterwards tried to sneak in some termal springs (failed) and went for a short trek around a lake trying to hunt for Platypus.

  • Living in Hobart Second Part 🐸

    February 28, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

Some people left, others came like David from New York who was so easy to like so quickly; Ky from Canada who worked in reception and we did creepy tuesdays or complementing strangers wednesdays; Beunoit and Till came back from their road trip who were just instantly part of the group; Julianne donut Guillaume and Guigui as the french team; Loic, Romina's boyfriend; Italian cheeky Tomas; charming Clemant; Will my cocktail in crime partner and Jonnhy, Thomas, Lina, Iride, Niek, Matias, Basil ... It was a family, somehow I felt more and more in love with this place every day that I spent here.
Once the den became an option I decided I wasn't gonna do my farm work just yet, that I wasn't ready to let bartending go, so didn't take my farm work and quit my other jobs (which I hated) and started at this cozy place. The team felt so proficient and organised from the very beginning and I felt so insecure about my self. But at the same time from the beginning my managers started talking to me about supervising and management, which shocked me a lot. I started getting more and more shifts and hours every week, and learned so much and felt more confident with my previous knowledge and experience. And just got more and more excited about the place and hobart. Everything seemed into place, didn't it?
Romina left and came back because she missed me, Isaac left to go to Europe, Ky and I became closer and closer, we had cooking nights like mexican, dhal, chilly, shaksuka... Romina, Maximo and I tried pole dancing, we did a cocktail training in the hostel and we explored Hobart's hospo scene.

    February 25, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

So you all know what a duff is, its an Australian concept of an illegal "alternative rave" in the bush, with psychedelic music, you see people doing activities so you see the typical hippy things you would see in a catalan hippy festival, like dafos, slacklines... But again, we are in Australia, so everything feels so alternative and different! Was gonna go with Luca, Max and Armand, but Max and Luca chamged their mind last minute, so it was only Armand and I. The problem was that everyone was leaving earlier than us because Armand worked, so we where a bit stressed about getting there. Finally Tomas offered to drive us (it was an hour away from Hobart into the forest with a secret location than only a few of us knew), and he ended up staying with us. The weather was shit so it rained and it was muddy everywhere. But it was so much fun. In the middle of nowhere, so many km from all sort of civilization, so many cars and vans where gathered around a bushcamp with a big psychedelic stage. So many of friends and people I knew were there and we danced, met new people and had crazy fun. During the night in the party the rain cover in our tent flew away so our tent got flooded, so we couldnt sleep and we where freezing. For this reason we decided to leave a bit earlier than expected, which was good. Thibault was there, which I figured would be the last time I saw him, and saw where Till (from whom I stole his necklace somehow), Beaunoit, Klea, Camila (who took me to sleep for a bit in her tent), Oshin, Basil, Daria... So many people that I knew. Honestly went to hard, arriving to the hostel I was so exhausted, covered in mudd and overwhelmed it took me a while to recover from it and wash all my clothes (manymany attemps, since I decided to go in white clothes). Indeed most hardcore festival I've done, bur really cool experience and worth the try. Now, I just need some rest and peace for a bit.Read more

For my travelling year anniversary Romina and I borrowed Camila's car (she is the loveliest person on earth) and went to Tasman National Park for some hikes. So nice to get some fresh air out of Hobart and share and be together. We visited Remarkable Cave, jumped the fance and snuck in and played with the waves for ours and ours like kids. It was so much fun. Then had some hot lavender chocolate and cake in a lavender farm that we visited, walled around the coal mines and found a beautiful spot to camp for the night. Next day drove to Cape Roul and treked for a few hours, enjoyed the beautiful landscape and rach other's company. Feeling lucky that I met this person in my life and we got to share so much together.

  • Hobart, the pickled frog🐸

    February 9, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

We were in the bus one day and Sarah and Jesse said to me, do we get a private room with three beds on the ferry? And I looked at them awkwardly and excited at the same time and said, guys, I think I am not leaving just yet. After that moment I was dropped in the pickled frog. First night felt lonely and said, putting it into context, this last exciting year full of adventures was pretty lonely most of the times, and Sydney was the cherry on top of the cake. And then Jesse and Sarah were just a bit of an actual family and comfort for the first time since longlong, I felt so part of the place and loved so quickly.
So first night met some people, felt bored and out of place, but did an effort to see were it was going. Next morning I woke up and a girl that was sitting at the other end of the big table was having breakfast, and we had exchanged a few words before, so just decided to sit next, still with a grumpy face and not much interest. They were speaking in french, she quickly switched to english and kept on going so I could be part of it. Then she started explaining she had just done her first yoga class recently, showed and explained some postures to the friend, and inside I was finding the situation so comedic. And at some points, she faces at me and says, have you ever done yoga before? And I awkwardly laughed and said, "yeah, I'm actually a yoga teacher. Are you gonna go to a class today? Because I kinda really need some tbh". And that broke the ice and made my arrival to hobart a completely different experience. That was Romina, who became my new family and best friend, we did everything together, from cooking, going daily to yoga or just sit in a caffe in silence. She was so bright and social, she had this beautiful energy that everyone loved, so being with her started reopening my social energy and we started meeting all this people and started making this new group of friends.
There was Armand, a sweet guy from France that always had red wine for dinner; Sara a finish girl who was absolutely in love with Australia; the sweet Katelyn from Scotland; Ben who was the absolute organizer of activities in the group; Ana the most unique german, in love with glowing things and pavlovas or anything with sugar; Tati a lovely girl from argentina; Isaac, my absolute favorite human in this place, just bright curious innocent and ready to eat the whole world (he used to be offended because I called him a puppy); the quiet, smart and kind Simon; Aaaaaa Kylian always so funny, unexpected and himself; loud and crazy Valentine; Daria as something else; Max, my first friend in Tasmania; Maximo always my partner in crime for handstands and always with him lovely italian Luca who would only eat pasta; sunshine and unique Camila and Oshin in love with climbing and always a kind word for everyone.
After chasing Jamie for enough time I managed to volunteer at the hostel folding sheets for accomodation. First days I needed to recharge so for the first time in so long, I did nothing for more than a week, just sat and chat to people, go to yoga, cook... Not much really. At some point Kylian was going to drop resumés and I decided to join because it was time already... Without much effort I quickly got a few options. I really wanted to work at this cocktail bar called the den, but the job process was so long that I had to take to jobs on the meantime so I worked at the shipwrights arms hotel were Nico, a really nice guy from the hostel got me a job and the watermans hotel.

    February 4, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 16 °C

Sadly our last stop of the trip arrived, with lots of encountered feelings. My final desicion was to stay in Hobart for a bit and Sarah and Jesse were gonna take the ferry back to mainland. Went to Mona and put some spice on it, it was an interesting and different museum with some different dynamic activities such as a cloaca performance. After that went back to the bus and parked in the cozy spot we used last time in front of the sea. Had a lovely night were we had fun, laughed, shared, discussed. We were a family already with Jacintha. Next day, lazily finished some of the last things, printed some pictures to keep with us, and I was dropped in the Pickled from, with Slag, Sarah's Wombat, for the next stage of Tasmania.

We literally just came to this spot to do a ghost tour that a random costumer from my bar in Sydney recommended me (she said one of her ancestors haunted that place or something like that). Port Arthur was a historical site that used to be a prison of dangerous prisoners from the UK, so they would be isolated and unable to escape since they where in a remote and isolated island. Honestly it wasn't the best tour ever (was expecting to get scared or concerned), but we still had fun and stopped at some nice spots on the way.Read more

Getting closer to Hobart and our last days together... We needed some rest for sure, so stayed in the area for a bit longer than planned, since it was beautiful and peaceful. Didn't do much (even though everyday I intended to do something), but relaxed in the nice campsite we were at at first (paying one), and the beach. Jesse caught some muscles (of course he did) so he was as happy as a kid. Next day drove around the area to see a bit (without having to move any of our limbs) and moved to a free campsite where Jesse rescued the mystery machine from being stuck (you could also see his childish happy face on that moment), met Thibault and invited him for our second dinner of muscles in a row (yes we loved them, and yes have been eating fresh seafood from Jesse everyday). Next day, Sarah and I did a quick short hike to deal with the guilt and Jesse was gifted with a lemon from Thibault and we hit the road with some interesting plans and ideas for next.Read more

There were plenty of free camps in this area so we could choose the best spot. Jesse rapidly put his sexy outfit and jumped into the water to do so fish diving. On the meantime, Sarah and I studied and I sat in the rocks to monitor pur crazy travel buddy. At some point he disappeared from my gaze and a shark appeared in his spot. Me freaking out. But he was out, he attracted a shark from the blood of the fish he was catching, and I saw my first shark in australia, which was pretty fucking cool. Later at night we moved cause Sarah and I needed some internet for studying and had a guest in our campsite, where we had a bonfire and some drinks. Next day, Jesse went for a second dive, and we ate deliciouss crabs, abalone and fish for a few days.Read more
