    Día 12: Walking Tour Ciudad de México

    Hoy fue día de free walking Tour por la ciudad. A las 10 de la mañana empezaría nuestro tour en español, que al final empezó a las 10:30 y fue en inglés 😅 sólo éramos 4 y una chica no hablaba español 😅. Aprovechamos el retraso para conocer la Catedral por dentro 😁. Ciudad de México fue construida encima del lago de Texcoco, por lo que el suelo no es muy estable y literalmente se está hundiendo, eso lo puede ver uno dentro de la Catedral, que tiene partes que están muy torcidas 😅. Más o menos 3 horas duro el tour donde conocimos el zócalo, templo Mayor, el palacio de correos, la torre latinoamericana, el palacio de Bellas artes, comimos quesadilla 😁 y aprendimos sobre la historia de esta interesante ciudad (sabían que México tenía un dictador? Y fue de los mejores dirigentes que ha tenido el país 😯). Terminado el tour, caminamos por la peatonal hasta el zócalo y luego quisimos entrar al palacio de Bellas artes, pero había un evento, así que nos dijeron que abría al público a las 2 de la tarde, y a las 2 nos dijeron que a las 3 😒 (a las 3 dirían que a las 4 y ya a las 4 dirían que ya no abren? 😒😒) así que buscando cosas interesantes por hacer encontramos el museo del Tequila en la Plaza Garibaldi , y decidimos ir allí. Es un pequeño pero interesante museo, donde explican el proceso de fabricación del tequila y el Mezcal (y la entrada incluye degustacion de las 2 😁). Luego del recorrido pasamos a la degustacion en el bar del museo (donde nos tomamos una cervecita 😅) observando la plaza Garibaldi, si quieres escuchar a los cantantes debes pagar por canción, el más barato costaba 100 pesos 🙈, pero a esta hora no habían muchos cantantes, y los Mariachi apenas empezaban a llegar. Terminado nuestro recorrido, compramos un Mezcal para llevar a casa 😁. Lamentablemente la plaza y sus alrededores no son un sitio muy agradable, en el que quisieras estar de noche 😕. De cena hubo 2 ricos y baratos tacos (cada un 19 pesos), uno de suadero y uno campechano (para cada uno la mitad de cada uno 😂) en "los Cocuyos" un puesto de tacos famoso porque salió en la serie de Netflix "las crónicas del taco" (y nos atendieron las mismas personas que salen en la serie 😆), luego un rico pero picante pozole con agua de horchata 🤤, y de postre unos ricos churros con chocolate y malteada de fresa en la churrería el moro. Al final del día y con casi 25000 pasos, caímos totalmente cansados a dormir.Baca selengkapnya

    Día 11: Viaje a CDMX

    Hoy es el día de dejar la península de Yucatan y viajar a Ciudad de México. Salimos antes de las 9 para tomar el bus hacia el aeropuerto, y justo antes hacemos una parada técnica en un supermercado para comprar fruta, un ponquecito y algo de tomar para desayunar 😅. Una vez en la terminal de buses, la fila está tan larga, que difícilmente podremos tomar el bus que nos deje a tiempo para nuestro vuelo. Por suerte, un chico en la fila tiene el mismo problema, y nos sugiere tomar un taxi entre los 3, lo que saldría al mismo precio que el bus 😊 y así llegamos más temprano de lo planeado al aeropuerto. Llegamos en la tarde a CDMX y queremos tomar el metro hasta nuestro hotel, lo que no nos imaginamos es que la ciudad estuviera no tan bien conectada, y así para ir del aeropuerto a la zona Rosa (donde esta ubicado nuestro hotel), se deben hacer 2 trasbordos en metro y 1 al metrobus, lo cual no es para nada práctico con maletas 😐. Luego de casi 1 hora llegamos a nuestro hotel 😊. Más tarde, salimos a caminar por la zona Rosa, vimos el ángel de la Independencia, y luego buscamos algo de comer, y después de mucho caminar, encontramos un lugar de hamburguesas muy particular, donde sirven las papas fritas en cocas de perro 😂.Baca selengkapnya

    Día 10: De regreso a Cancún

    17 Mei 2022, Meksiko ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

    Anoche regresamos a Cancún, pues mañana sale nuestro vuelo a CDMX. Llegamos al hostal en la noche, y luego de ducharnos salimos a buscar comida y nos decidimos por un ramen 😁 (estaba rico 😅). Hoy es día tranqui de playa, no hay mucho que decir mas que casi no encontramos una playa 😂, ya que aunque se supone que las playas son públicas por ley, los espacios frente a los hoteles sólo pueden ser usados por sus huéspedes 😂. Primero fuimos a una playa super pequeña que ya estaba llena, e intentamos caminar a la siguiente playa publica, pero no es posible 😂 por lo que tuvimos que regresar y tomar un bus hacia playa delfines, la cual si es una bonita playa publica con palapas que puedes usar gratis, y de suerte conseguimos una inmediatamente (que acababan de desocupar). Allí estuvimos toda la tarde. Luego, de regreso al centro, tomamos un bus que también se convirtió en un Party bus gracias a un músico que se subió cantando canciones como La Macarena 😄.Baca selengkapnya

    Los flamingos! 🦩Alguien muy feliz 😅La fruta para el camino 😂

    Día 9: Río Lagartos y los flamingos

    16 Mei 2022, Meksiko ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

    Hoy el día comienza a las 5:30, pues a las 6 debemos estar muy puntual en el puerto para tomar el bote que nos lleve por la Ría hacia los Flamingos (el puerto queda justo frente del hotel 😅). A las 6 comenzamos nuestro viaje, vimos el amanecer desde el bote, vimos muchos tipos de aves y un par de cocodrilos. Luego de un poco más de 1 hora, llegamos al lugar donde se encuentran los flamingos, fue muy bonito verlos, aunque son muy miedosos. Más o menos a las 9:30 regresamos a desayunar y hacer una pausa hasta las 11 en el balcón del hotel. Después del Checkout, fuimos a caminar un poco por el pueblito y decidimos parar en un restaurante en la otra orilla de la Ría para almorzar, y de allí emprendimos nuestro viaje de regreso a Cancún. Debimos hacer una parada técnica en Tizimin, pues no teníamos suficiente dinero para el peaje en la vía Valladolid-Cancun, y alguien se antojó de fruta (obviamente el Manucito), así que compramos mucha fruta para el largo camino. Río Lagartos es un pueblito muy tranquilo y la experiencia de navegar por la Ría y ver los flamingos es también muy chevere, de las cosas que más nos gustaron en nuestro viaje 😊.

    Día 8: Ek Balam

    15 Mei 2022, Meksiko ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

    Esta mañana fue más relajada, nos levantamos tarde y buscamos desayunito en un restaurante de burritos cerca al hotel, luego decidimos hacer una parada en nuestro camino a Río Lagartos en Ek Balam, unas ruinas mayas no tan masificadas y que se pueden subir 👍🏽. Esta vez encontramos muchas familias mexicanas, pues los domingos la entrada es gratis para los mexicanos, y curiosamente algunos subían a la piramide más alta a comer papitas y tomar cerveza (aún cuando comer y beber alcohol dentro de la zona arqueológica está prohibido 🤨). Casi perdemos al mono, que se resbaló de lo más alto de la piramide más alta 😱 por suerte no fue tan horrible, no se hizo ni un razguño. En la noche en Río Lagartos, fuimos a un restaurante a comer, Manu comió ceviche y yo un pescado a la mexicana (que dijeron que no era picante, pero si picaba 😥). En la noche fuimos a dormir temprano, pues al otro día debemos salir temprano a nuestra siguiente aventura.Baca selengkapnya

    Continuación día 7: Valladolid

    14 Mei 2022, Meksiko ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

    En la tarde, el plan era ir a Yaxunah a buscar un restaurante famoso por aparecer en un documental de Netflix, pero en el camino nos enteramos que toca reservar para poder ir (y obviamente ya no había espacio), sin embargo, nos dirigimos a este pueblito muy cercano a Chichén Itzá, a ver qué encontrábamos. De buena suerte encontramos un restaurante de comida 100% casera y muy amablemente nos hicieron cupito (como no va mucha gente, también toca "reservar"), comimos un pibil de pollito delicioso, con tortillas hechas a mano en parrilla de leña y agua de Jamaica (lecker!!! 🤤), super felices con ese almuerzo 🤤. Queríamos buscar un cenote para nadar media horita, pero la entrada más económica (que era precisamente en Yaxunah) cuesta 100 pesos, y por media hora o como máximo 1 hora, no vale la pena el gasto, así que nos fuimos de regreso a Valladolid, a disfrutar un poco de la piscina del hotel (igualita la piscina a un cenote 😂). Este día si alcanzamos el Free Walking Tour de 7, el cual iba a ser originalmente en español, pero fue en una mezcla interesante de inglés y alemán 😅 (todo el trayecto pensaba que ese chico habla inglés como yo 😂), porque los únicos que hablábamos español éramos nosotros 😂. El tour terminó a las 9, justo en frente del convento para ver la proyección de la historia de la ciudad (sólo alcanzamos a la mitad de la proyección en español 😭, pero la vimos completa en inglés 💪🏽), algo que vale mucho la pena ver y es gratis todos los días 😁. Valladolid es una ciudad colonial muy bonita, con casas muy coloridas y una iglesia y un parque bien cuidados, nos gustó mucho esta ciudad 😊.Baca selengkapnya

    Alguien descubrió una ruina maya 😂1

    Día 7: Chichén Itzá

    14 Mei 2022, Meksiko ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

    La tarde anterior llegamos a nuestro hotel en Valladolid y la idea era salir en la noche a hacer un Free Walking Tour por la ciudad, pero nuevamente no logramos la misión porque yo tenía dolor de cabeza (como odio mi migraña 😪), así que fue otra tarde-noche de dormir, salimos como a las 9:30 de la noche a buscar algo de comer y casi no encontramos, solo en un irish pub, donde comimos hamburguesa y pizza 😅. Al siguiente día, salimos temprano hacia Chichén Itzá, una de las maravillas del mundo moderno (aquí si es importante llegar temprano, pues es muy famoso y llega mucha gente todos los días). Llegamos a las 8:30 (abren a las 8) y no había nada de fila, y adentro pudimos tomar fotos en la piramide de Kukulkan sin nada de gente alrededor 💪🏽, aprovechamos nuevamente las horas más "frescas" del día, aunque es tan grande y hay tanto por ver, que salimos como a la 1 de la tarde 😅 (aprovechamos al máximo esa entrada, que no es para nada barata), y al salir si había mucha gente y grupos de tours alrededor de la piramide de Kukulkan (a esta hora si es imposible tomar una foto sin que salga más gente 😅). Chichén Itzá es una zona arqueológica muy bonita y bien conservada, sin embargo algo que no nos gustó es que hay muchísimos vendedores, con stands super grandes, haciendo demasiado ruido y siendo intensos con los turistas, eso le resta magia a las ruinas 😒 (no compramos nada, porque no nos interesa incentivar ese daño a la zona arqueológica).Baca selengkapnya

    Día 6: Tulum

    13 Mei 2022, Meksiko ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

    La tarde anterior, luego de Bejil-Ha, llegamos a Tulum, tan cansados, que aunque teníamos pensado después de ducharnos dormir una horita y salir a conocer un poco el pueblo, seguimos derecho durmiendo hasta el siguiente día 😅🙈 (menos mal al otro día nos daríamos cuenta que no nos perdimos de mucho 😂). El día 6 comenzó temprano, ya que vamos a las ruinas de Tulum y lo mejor para ir a las ruinas es ir temprano, antes de que suba el calor, se llenen de gente y se coja el sol de mediodía (a mediodía no hay sombra, como en la tierrita 😅). Solamente unos 10 minutos en carro y ya estamos en el parqueadero del centro comercial contiguo a las ruinas (que a esta hora está solo), y de allí menos de 10 minutos a pie hasta la entrada, donde a esta hora ni fila hay (llegamos tan pronto abren). Las ruinas son super famosas en redes sociales, con el mar azul al lado; lamentablemente había mucho sargazo y las fotos no quedaron tan espectaculares, sin embargo, es algo bonito de ver. Luego de más o menos 2 horas salimos de la zona Arqueológica por la salida hacia las playas, con la intención de buscar algo de tomar, sin embargo, todos los barcitos estaban cerrados 😅 (estaba todavía muy temprano), así que caminamos de regreso hacia el carro y volvimos hasta el hotel a parquear el carro y buscar desayunito, cerca encontramos un carrito donde venden unos desayunos super ricos a buen precio (y que tiene buenas puntuaciones en TripAdvisor 😅), y luego salimos hacia el centro del pueblo a conocer, pensando en encontrar cosas bonitas que ver, tal vez un bar, un buen restaurante para almorzar, pero nada!!! Salvó la patria un puestico de frutas al lado del colegio, donde compramos un super vaso de frutas por 50 pesitos (2,5€), nos sentamos en el parque contiguo y caminamos de regreso al carro. Recogimos el carro y nos fuimos a conocer la zona hotelera, que nos recomendaron que fuéramos en carro para poder ver el mar al lado de la vía, pero ya esta todo construido alrededor y solo queda una angosta vía vehicular en muy mal estado, con una nula vía peatonal, a lado y lado hoteles y bares y nada de vista al mar 😅, así llegamos hasta la entrada a la reserva de Sian Kaan, donde casi no podemos tomar la vía de regreso (que odisea ese paseo 😂).     Día 5: Bejil-Ha: El camino del agua

    Hoy tocó levantarse temprano para salir de Playa del Carmen hacia un pequeño pueblito camino a Tulum llamado Chemuyil, donde nos esperaba nuestra siguiente aventura: Bejil-Ha (el camino del agua en maya), una actividad que descubrimos por Alan x el mundo que consiste en explorar 3 cenotes cercanos, y que por suerte y gracias a los chicos de Bejil-Ha no está masificada (como casi todo en la península de Yucatan 😒). Fue prácticamente una actividad privada, estábamos solo nosotros dos y otra chica 😄. En 7 horas, visitamos los cenotes de la luna y el sol (el primero es totalmente oscuro y el segundo recibe los rayos del sol por una abertura en el techo, a esto deben sus nombres) y por último el cenote templo Mayor, un bonito cenote con muchas cuevas subterráneas y muchos nuevos caminos por descubrir (como lo hicieron nuestros guías 😅 exploramos un camino nuevo 😄), luego comimos frutita y de regreso en el pueblo almorzamos un rico almuerzo casero 🤤. Nuestros guías Miguel y Christian fueron muy cheveres con nosotros, nos explicaron muchas cosas de los cenotes, hicieron muchas bromas (Manu iba a ser la ofrenda a los dioses 😂) y nos transmitieron su emoción por los cenotes.     Día 4: Playa del Carmen

    11 Mei 2022, Meksiko ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

    En Playa del Carmen empezamos el día desayunando en un restaurante muy colorido y haciendo pereza, al mediodía salimos a explorar un poco la ciudad, fuimos a un museo 3D, vimos a los voladores de Papantla, Manucito se compró un agua de coco (que disfrutó mucho) y buscamos un restaurante para comer, nos decidimos por uno en la quinta avenida con una vista desde la terraza super chevere, comimos cochinita pibil (el plato típico de la península) y tomamos el shot de tequila más caro de la historia (estaba bueno, pero muy caro parce 😂). En la noche buscamos un barcito y nos encontramos un paisa trabajando allí (están en todos lados 😂), entramos a otro bar en una terraza con un super ambiente y chelita no tan cara, y a media noche fuimos a dormir.     Día 3: Isla mujeres

    10 Mei 2022, Meksiko ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

    En el día 2 exploramos Isla mujeres desde el norte (donde estaba el hostal) en un carrito de golf, que después de 1 hora (llegando a punta sur) se averió, así que debimos esperar a que llegaran con el reemplazo 😅. Punta sur es un lugar muy bonito, donde se puede ver el mar azul turquesa y la ruina del Templo maya de Ixchel. Luego de regreso, disfrutamos un poco de playa norte (una de las playas más bonitas de México) y al final de la tarde devolvimos el carrito de golf y tomamos el ferry de regreso a Cancun (a las 16:00, porque después hay mucha fila de toda la gente que hace su tour de 1 día a la isla). De regreso a Cancun, tomamos el bus en la zona hotelera hacia el centro, el cual parecía una discoteca andante, con música muy alta y una señora mayor muy feliz bailando 😄.     Día 1 y 2: Cancun e Isla mujeres

    Llegada a Cancun desde Bogotá, nos da la bienvenida un oficial de migración, el cual quería saber hasta el más mínimo detalle de nuestro viaje y después de 5 minutos de preguntas, recibimos nuestros sellos en los pasaportes. Luego a recoger el carro de alquiler y manejar hasta el hotel. Después de un día estresante, encontramos un sitio de tacos muy buenos, donde comimos nuestros primeros tacos mexicanos y probamos el agua de Jamaica 🌺🤤. Al siguiente día, disfrutamos un poco de la piscina y al mediodía salimos hacia la zona hotelera de Cancun a conocer un poco y tomar el ferry hacia Isla mujeres.

    The flight itself was normal. Singapore Airlines is a really good airline and everything was working well - besides the delay of course. But we were lucky and managed to catch our Flixbus to Friedrichshafen which was prebooked. When we reached the border to Germany the police checked the bus and the people which took forever. Once the bus continued its way we got to Friedrichshafen where Christi was splitting from our group. We said goodbye and then Nonni and me took the next train back home.     Day 21 Ho Chi Minh City (Sai Gon)

    We slept late and packed our luggage until we had to check out at Noon. It was already the last day of our trip! How fast the time went by. We had lunch in a local restaurant and then walked through a market. Later we rested in a coffee place because it was really hot and humid again. After a while we returned to the flat and picked up our luggage. It was time to get to the airport and to leave Vietnam. The first flight to Singapore was short and normal. There should have been a two hour waiting time until the next long flight back to Zurich. But unfortunately this flight was delayed for around 2 hours, so we had to wait in the middle of the night. After all flights went well during this trip there had to be a problem at the last one - of course. But then finally we could board the A380.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 20 Ho Chi Minh City (Sai Gon)

    We had to get up very early to get to the airport of Phu Quoc, at 7:40 AM was our flight to Ho Chi Minh City. When we arrived we dropped our baggage at the accomodation and went into downtown. Again it was very hot so we were just hanging ourselves from supermarket to shopping mall to get pleasant temperatures. For lunch we went to a coffee place to drink something and eat Banh Mi. Then we could check in to our quite stylish apartment in a big building with a pool on the rooftop. Therefore we went into the rooftop pool directly with a view over the city. After a while we returned into the flat. We went to have dinner in the city and afterwards we were up the Bitexco tower in a bar where we had a cocktail and enjoyed the view over the city. Later we went to Bui Vien which is the party street of Sai Gon. We had a couple of beers and walked through the busy street. Late night we returned to the flat.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 19 Phu Quoc

    We got up, had breakfast and then we rented scooters again. First we wanted to visit the National Park on the island. About 50% of the territory is protected by it. As it had rained a lot in these days the way was very muddy and sometimes washed away. It was crazy to drive there, but we managed to arrive at a hiking path after some kilometres. We hiked for quite a while, then we continued our way by scooter. The next plan was to drive to a waterfall in the East, but there were lots of floodings on the street. We crossed one, but at the end it was too much. We decided to go south to the Sao Beach - also called Star Beach. There we walked along the coastline and enjoyed the sunny day. Once back at the resort we jumped into the pool and later we had dinner. After that we bought some fruits as dessert again like we did the day before, they are delicious.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 18 Phu Quoc

    In the morning we got up and boarded the 8 AM ferry to Phu Quoc. The ride took 2,5 hours and as we arrived on the island we took a shared minivan to our accomodation. When we arrived there we went straight on to the On Lang Beach to meet Matze&Maike which waited for their pickup to the airport. We talked shortly and then they had to leave. Afterwards we had lunch and later we jumped into the ocean and swam to another beach. When we got back to our accomodation it was raining, so we went into our pool. In the evening we had dinner at a local BBQ restaurant. Then we went back and slept.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 17 Can Tho

    The alarm went off at 5:30 AM because we have booked a Mekong Delta Tour with our guide Linh. First we drove with scooters about 30 minutes to a place where we could enter a boat. Our group was completed by two German couples. We visited a local floating market where farmers and merchants are doing B2B deals. After a while we stopped and had breakfast. Linh told a lot about how the Vietnamese live and about the area. We continued and went through a local market on land with lots of meat, fruits and even snakes. Back on the boat we saw fruit plantations and where pepper comes from. We tried a lot of different fruits during the tour. Then we cruised through the most beautiful area - the "paradise". At around noon the tour was finished and we said goodbye to Linh and her parents. We hopped on a bus to Rach Gia and as we had arrived we went into the town to have dinner. We walked for quite a while and then we found a good grill. Once we finished the food we got invited again by a few locals. They could barely speak English and Google Translator was not a great help. After a some beers we went on to a karaoke place where we spent one hour with this popular Asian activity. Then our new Vietnamese friends drove us back to the hostel by scooters.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 16 Ho Chi Minh City (Sai Gon)

    On this day we went again into the center of Ho Chi Minh City after breakfast. We went to Ben Tanh Market and to a park. Then we returned to the hostel to catch a grab car to bring us to the bus station. We traveled by bus to Can Tho which is in the Mekong Delta. It was a sleeper bus in the middle of the day, really funny. When we arrived we took a shuttle to our hostel. Then we went to have dinner in city center in a local restaurant - fresh spring rolls again. Afterwards we strolled through the night market and got crepes and fresh made ice cream from strawberries.     Day 15 Ho Chi Minh City (Sai Gon)

    In the middle of the night we got waked up by the bus driver because we had already arrived in Ho Chi Minh City which is the former Sai Gon. What to do at around 3 AM? We decided to go to the hostel and wait there until breakfast time and this plan worked out quite well. On our way we met Marta from Poland who was also on the bus. We chatted a while with her and then we tried to sleep on the floor. Later we had breakfast and went to the War Remnants Museum. This museum features some facts from the Vietnam War and mainly the cruelties from the USA. After seeing the Notre Dame cathedral, the opera and other sights we went back to the hostel because we got picked up. We made a tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels of the Vietcong about 60km away. Our guide told a lot about the war strategies during the Vietnam War and showed us the tunnels. We crawled 100m through them ourselves, very exhausting considering the tiny size and the high humidity. After coming back to the city we had dinner at a street food place nearby and then went to bed.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 14 Da Lat

    15 Oktober 2018, Vietnam ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

    Day 2 in Da Lat: After breakfast another outdoor sports activity was waiting for us. We wanted to hike on the Langbiang mountain. First we rented 2 scooters for the day and drove to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain. Then we hiked up to the peak at 2167 metres. It was sunny and at the end the path was very steep, but there was a nice view at the top. Back at the parking lot we drove to the next stop around 30 km away: The Elephant Waterfall. Once we arrived there climbed down to see the waterfall from below, quite impressive. Afterwards we visited the pagoda next to it. It wouldn't have been an interesting one if they were not building a massive Buddha statue, about 70m high! Then we drove back to Da Lat, had a coffee at the Xuan Huong lake and later dinner in a great local BBQ restaurant. At around 9 PM we got picked up by a bus company to bring us to the bus station.     Day 13 Da Lat

    For this day the plan was to do a downhill bike tour in the hills around Da Lat. Originally we wanted to do Canyoning but this and Rafting is closed at the moment (because a Korean man died lately - had a heart attack) and so cycling was the best option. Christi told Lion (our guide) we are experienced and want to have the hardest tour they offer. In fact I never did a downhill tour in my life and I even didn't sit on a Mountainbike since years ;-) What a good tour to start with. It did make fun and the landscape was amazing but I was also scared going down the hills too fast. The parts going up the hills nearly killed me, it was also quite hot and if you are not used to it - that is not the best combination. On the steepest downhill part I also fell off the bike but fortunately only at a small pace. At the end of the tour we visited an impressive pagoda and its cellar where the hell of Buddhism is visualized. Back in the city we went to a night market after having a shower. For dinner the owner of the hostel prepared fresh spring rolls and fried rice. There were also other hostel guests joining and so it was quite nice.     Day 12 Hoi An/Da Lat

    The morning after breakfast was very hectic, we had to visit all shops from the day before to fit on the clothes. Nevertheless we made it right on time for the departure to the airport. We flew to Nha Trang, respectively Cam Ranh Airport south of this city and chartered a taxi to Da Lat. After 3 hours we arrived and had dinner. We tried the first pizza in Vietnam, it tasted well but the style was more like American pizza. Then we went to a bar to have a beer, but then we were invited to a table from local guys. They gave us Whisky, beer and fruits - an offer which we couldn't refuse, they were so kind. When they left at around 12 PM we also left and went to our hostel.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 11 Hoi An

    After breakfast we rented scooters and met Eggi&Theresa to hit the road. First we drove to An Bang Beach northwest of Hoi An. Driving is quite easy, just use the horn and then you can pass other vehicles. Traffic is less here so it is possible to drive even as beginner. Handling a scooter itself can be a challenge sometimes. At the beach we jumped into the wild sea with big waves. Once we got out of the water we noticed that there was a red flag waving and it was not allowed to swim on that day :-D Later we drove to other beaches and areas. It was raining from time to time and we had to hide from it. On the way back to town Nonni's scooter broke down, so Christi had to carry him. In the afternoon we had a fitting appointment at the tailor. After we were all happy with the result we went on to have a late lunch. It was raining cats and dogs, so we had to run to a restaurant. As it got better we took again the scooters and drove around the town until it got dark. We went for a shopping run and then had dinner. Again it was raining and we had to bridge over the time with a beer until we had to see goodbye to Eggi&Theresa.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 10 Hoi An

    11 Oktober 2018, Vietnam ⋅ 🌧 25 °C

    The night ended already at 4 AM! We left for the airport with a taxi. Then we flew to Da Nang which is a city close to Hoi An in the center of Vietnam. When we arrived in Hoi An we met Eggi&Theresa who came from Ho-Chi-Minh City. We went to the tailor together to treat ourselves with custom tailored shirts and suits - Hoi An is famous for their tailors. Afterwards we strolled through the old town and just as we stopped in a place to drink a beer it was beginning to rain. It was the first rain we saw so far on our trip. Later the day we did a bike tour organized by our hostel. It led us on Cam Kim Island south of Hoi An. The guide showed us a temple, explained a lot of the symbols and how the local people worship their ancestors. Then we had to leave the tour because of an appointment at the tailor. In the evening we enjoyed some beers and free Rum+Coke in the hostel with Eggi&Theresa. For dinner we went to Bup Café which was a recommendation from Joni and it was really worth it. Awesome food and great owner, he is so dedicated to his work: Perfect end of a day although it was raining heavily in between.Baca selengkapnya

    Day 9 Ha Long Bay

    10 Oktober 2018, Vietnam ⋅ 🌬 24 °C

    We got up at 7:30 AM for breakfast, the only food without rice :-) Pancakes with bananas and honey. Then we kayaked again through the bay - into caves, holes and in hidden lagoons. After that we took swims to small beaches, were snorkeling and were jumping from the boat. The weather changed a little bit, it was not that sunny anymore but still warm. After lunch we left the cabin and the boat was going back to the harbour on Cat Ba island. After the transfer back to Hanoi we met Sarah again who was spontaneously for this night in the city. We had dinner together and chatted until the restaurant closed. Then we went to bed because it was going to be a short night.Baca selengkapnya
