  • Chilling after fucking amazing days!!

    30 Ocak 2023, Arjantin ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

The last days were crazy, exhausting and full with Programm, so I decided to do nothing😂
I bought a new powerbank because my current one has a “Wackelkontakt”🤦🏼‍♂️

I also spoke to some friends and tried my first “bife of Chorizo”. Wow that tasted really good!! (during that a person came and wanted to have some bread and paste & because I was quiet full I gave her sth. During that she grabbed my phone and wanted to steal it! WTF 🤬)

Later I went back to the hostel and ate with Lara Chai Late & Niranja y chocolate ice cream. So Sortiment was amazing and it tasted soooooo goood haha.

I had so say goodbye to Lara, an really warm and nice person as well as to the other hostel friends.

I am now taking a night bus to cordoba & will stay there for 3 nights. Hopefully I can join Jana and a Charlotte in Salta for a road trip at this region.

  • Arriving in Cordoba+2x free walking tour

    31 Ocak 2023, Arjantin ⋅ 🌩️ 32 °C

After 12h of bus transfer I arrived in the hostel & I have seen the Swedish guy again, which I met in Mendoza. Unfortunately he had an accident with his feet, so he cannot do anything😂

I made two free walking tours (11 & 17 o clock), which included the Antike Cordoba & the modern. Cordoba is the second biggest city in Argentinia (2 million) and is known as a student city (200.000). I really enjoyed the tours. I tried alfajores (sweets) and it was really good. Furthermore in cordoba is the second narrowest building in the word😂💪🏽(3 m)

Although I cooked for my dinner, Stefan asked if I want to join a Bachata class with him and Aziz. Wow, I really enjoyed learning dance moves. Because I love dancing, It could also be a nice hobby at home. We ate after that something at the hostel and we still tried some moves out! Haha so Good.

  • Chilling in cordoba

    1 Şubat 2023, Arjantin ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

The last month of travelling was very nice and also exhausting. So I decided to have a really chilled day, because there is not much so see in an around Cordoba. Also I felt a Little Bit k.o.

I planned a route and what to do exactly in Salta + Jujuj. I will go on a Roadtrip on Sunday with Lena, Charlotte & Jana.

I also checked, how much money I have been spending the first month: under budget 😎💪🏽

Because of the situation in Peru it is still a big topic. The flights over Peru are so expensive and every alternative as well…
One flight von La Platz to Quito: 400€ with luggage 😬

Currently I am thinking about to book a flight from Bolivia to Ecuador, then Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and ending in Mexiko or/and 6 days in NYC. We will see.

I went to the barber with Stefan after waiting to Aziz and I was not satisfied 😬 still to long haha, but the next customer was already there.. I also bought a new short jeans and a new belt.

In the evening I chilled at the hostel with aziz and Stefan, because I didn’t want to go out after being around every evening. I slept from 11 p.m to 9 a.m😍

  • Bored in Cordoba😂

    2 Şubat 2023, Arjantin ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

After breakfast I had a phone call with Leon & I went with Aziz to the train station to book a bus ticket for him. He will drive with the same bus as me now💪🏽

Although they said in the tourist offices that the Cordoba Museum of Memory (Mostly about the dictatorship) it is open today, it is still closed. So I went with Aziz to a Religious Museum closby the tourist office. It was ok😂

Because Aziz wanted to chill in the hostel I decided to eat another nice bife de chorizo, and is was nice!

I went to the biggest park in cordoba, listened so some podcast and music and had a phone call with Joschko.

In the evening I cooked with Aziz a huuuge portion, but we ate it😂

With a few hostel persons I went to a techno club & I am really looking forward to go on the roadtrip on Sunday💪🏽

To be honest, although cordoba the second biggest city and a student town, it is not much to do around here.

Because my goal was not partying and drinking here (what I think is the main thing to do as a Traveller in cordoba), I expected more of the city.🤷🏽‍♂️

  • Last day in Cordoba 🔜 Salta

    3 Şubat 2023, Arjantin ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

After waking up and breakfast I made my laundry by myself at the hostel. There I got in touch with two skater girls from Rosario and one guy from French. We chilled at the balcony while the France guy played some Musik on his kalimba (really relaxed and slow tones, I liked it!)

I bought some food and relaxed at the big park again. I really enjoyed being
More alone after a lot of socialising the last month. I thinked a lot about my life and other stuff.

I catched up Aziz in the hostel, because he didn’t slept at home hehe. We ate a very nice Bife de Chorizo together & now we are heading together to Salta.

Jana and Charlotte also reserved for me a room in her hostel and with Lena they booked a car for 6 days for our roadtrip. (Sunday Morning Till Saturday at Lunch)

I am so excited about the roadtrip, because it is my first one in my life 😂💪🏽

  • Arriving and exploring salta

    4 Şubat 2023, Arjantin

I arrived at 10:00 (3h delay because of the rain) with Aziz in Salta. I met Stefan again, because I gave him his towel back😂💪🏽

I have seen Jana and Charlotte again:) they wanted to have breakfast and needed to make their laundry, so I decided to explore salta. I bought food on the street before getting around.

I went to the Cerro San Bernardo with the cable car and saw salta from above. Nice view! Salta is more green as I expected. As Santiago, salta is surrounded by mountains (today I learned, the Incas made that consciously).

I got recognised, that the people are looking more „black“ so are more similar to Bolivians.

I explored after that the Center of Salta & I went to the Mercado Municipal San Miguel (Big Market) and to the Museum of High Altitude Archaeology. I learned sth about the Incas there. After that I went to the hostel, got in touch with Lena (Dutch) and I bought with her and Jana and Charlotte some food for the roadtrip.

They are all vegan, so went went to a nice vegan restaurant (Steaks are still better😂), after I bought a coffee and informed myself about colonializations of the world

Now our roadtrip is starting tomorrow! I am so excited!!

  • First Day of the Roadtrip: Cachi

    5 Şubat 2023, Arjantin

Today I had a nice and huge breakfast in the morning and after that Lena, Charlotte and myself went to the car rental point.
Because Charlotte felt more safe with a Chevrolet, we rented this car. I drove the first hours and the car is really nice to drive.
To see me green nature there is so amazing 😍 we drove up a huge mountain area and saw amazing landscapes.

We also have seen a cactuses area, which impressed me. I cuttend one cactus & the mass was „glibbrig mit viel Wasser“.

We stopped before of Cachi by a carnival & we got smashed with water and soam😂 haha it was funny!!

We went to dinner in the evening and I shared a vegan Cusco salad. I really enjoy trying out this food, but a nice beef would be also nice😂

Now we are sleeping in Cachi and we will head to cafayete tomorow.

  • Second day of the Roadtrip: Cafayate

    6 Şubat 2023, Arjantin ⋅ 🌙 8 °C

I was the first awake and I had a nice walk till we got the breakfast at the restaurant of the hostel in Cachi

Charlotte began to drive and when she was driving backwards in Cachi she almost hit one Motorrad driver😂

We also had a less crowded view when we drove down of the mountain😍 After we tanked in Salta we went down to Cafayate, where it looks quite similar from the landscape as in the Grand Canyon. I really enjoyed driving trough this sooooo amazing landscape !!

We had a few stops, but the better ones are coming tomorow. After checking in in Cafayate, we rested a little bit and wanted to drive route 40, which is known for its dangerous road because of rivers crossing the streets. Because our car is not the best for that, we went back fastly. So we were eating ice cream and went to a really nice bodega and we had nice food there #meeeet😂
We chilled at the bar in the hostel after that and the evening was so chilled

    7 Şubat 2023, Arjantin ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

At breakfast we found a new friend: the dog of the hostel.😂
We drove to an nice VIEWPOINT closby and had a nice walk there, where we also made some pictures hehe.

After that we went to a longer hike, to see an amazing nature and very colourful mountains. I showed Jana and Charlotte a cuttend cactus😂💪🏽

After that we drove to a canyon, which really impressed me.

After that had a brake and ate some nice empanadas and played Yatzi. After that I began to drive and we figured out where we want to sleep. We booked a nice apartment closby salta with a pool and an amazing landscape😍 we went to the pool there and I chilled 30 min only watching the nice landscape. I love the green nature here & it is so quiet here 😍

It is interesting to see how fast the landscape changes from Cafayate (dry) to cachi and salta (green)

Jana and Charlotte made a nice dinner for us and we watched a Netflix Serie after that.

Exhausting day, very nice views and a really relaxed evening, what a day!!

We chilled in the nice hostel in a hammock and, played some cards and ate at an Italian restaurant. I hade a nice Pizza with bacon and champions.

We wanted to see another nice point, but we drove 1 1/2h trough the „Pampa“. We arrived at 6 at the hostel and got some food afterwards.

  • 6. Day of the Trip: Salinas Grandes+Hike

    10 Şubat 2023, Arjantin ⋅ ⛅ 7 °C

We woke up at 4:00 to drive to a salt flat (Salinas Grandes) so the sunrise there. We took Helena from Germany with us & I drove in the morning. The drive was good & I am also the person who drives the most in the last at home, so I would say I had the most driving experience.

We arrived at 6:30 and we saw the sunrise & I also tasted some salt. Because it was raining in the night, everything was reflecting on the salt flat. In general the salt flat is more dry & below this salt flat is Lithium. (3400m)

It was also amazing to see, how the building were made: out of salt plates. Also a lama and a pot were there out of salt. It was impressive how strong this „buildings“ were.

After that we went to Purmamarca, where the seven colours mountains are & we had breakfast at 9:00 there.

I went after that with Helena on a hike around 4h in this region & it was an motivated hike, because we were hiking up higher, after we saw a nicer VIEWPOINT. We also climbed there. The view was amazing and much better as on the seven colours mountain I would say.

I showed her also a cuttend cactus hehe & we saw a climate station there. I really enjoyed the Adrenalin hike with her.

After we went down, we catched some cold drinks, went to a park & drove back to the hostel with the bus. I decided to go a detour & join the girls to the uyuni tour and after that to the Atacama dessert (my plan was is to do it in another way around).

Now I will go tomorrow to the border and sleep there, but there is no hostel available anymore😂 we will see how it goes hahaha.

In summary I have seen everything what I wanted during the road trip and I enjoyed the time very very much. Also it was a little bit more chilled travelling with the girls, because I want to be sometimes to active.

  • Stopping at the border town La Quiaca

    11 Şubat 2023, Arjantin ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Today we gave our car back at the airport of Jujuj after 2h of drive. At zhe place of delivery were two people standing on the parking point of the airport 😂💪🏽

After having a huge breakfast at the airport we drove with a taxi to the bus terminal in Jujuj, because two Ubers were not coming, but they confirmed in two times the drive 🤬😂

We bought our tickets to the border crossing point to Bolivia: La Quiaca.
After 1 1/2h of waiting at the bus terminal we drove 5h to La Quiaca and it started heavily to rain when we arrived. In Bolivia it also rains much all people say, we will see!
We also saw on the way a carnival, which was nice.

It was possible, that we can move one mattress into the 3 person room of the girls, but we don’t have a lot space here, but my bed is ok. I also had a nice bife de chorizo at dinner.
We stay to days in Uyuni and want to do a 3 night and 4 day tour at salar de Uyuni (biggest salt flat of the earth) to see geyser, hot springs, the salt flat of course and the National park there.

  • Arriving in Uyuni

    12 Şubat 2023, Bolivya ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

After breakfast we crossed the border from Argentina to Bolivia in between 30 mins. They didn’t scanned our luggage, which surprised us.

At the border we saw Shira(Isreal) again and 4 other girls of here. They didn’t had any clue where they should withdraw money, so they Followed us😂

We drove after withdrawal money to Tupiza and after that to Uyuni.

Our hostel is nice, but you see on the infrastructure (buses) and on the buildings, that Bolivia is the poorest country in South America.

I made laundry & cooked for the evening pasta. We are exhausted after the drive and also with the altitude is not easy to deal with (3500m). During the road trip we drove a lot up and down & I feel tired and exhausted because of that. But I would say compared to the girls I am getting along with that at the best.
We played a funny and competitive skippo in the evening and want to relax tomorrow as well as buying tickets for the Uyuni tour.

  • First day of the Salar de Uyuni tour!!

    14 Şubat 2023, Bolivya ⋅ 🌩️ 20 °C

We booked a tour for 3 days (Spanish because it is cheaper) at the Salar de Uyuni, which is the biggest salt flat on earth with the biggest lithium reserve in South America. I also booked on our „chill day“ my flight to GUAYAQUIL (South of Ecuador) at the 12.03 from La Paz.

I skip Peru now, as well as the Northern part of Peru, where the riots are not sooo heavily.

Unfortunately Lena felt sick at the first day, so she was not able to join there.

They still mine the salt with the hand after the rain season. It needs to get dry (with fire) and Iod will be added after that process step. The different levels on the are getting the plates because of sand and different salt years. (So it is not only salt there ; deepest point 18m)

The salt flat also gets every year bigger and bigger, because when it rains, the mountain takes some more salta into the salt flat and after „verdunsten“, the salt will stay there. Crazy.

They also want to mine the lithium below the salt flat, but the government changed and there is no big plan right not how to mine the lithium. Unbelievable🤦🏼‍♂️🙈
(Currently lithium mine Situation: Australia 52%, Chile 25, China 13, Argentina 9 + Rest. Especially with the electric vehicles an interesting topic.)

    To our tour:
We started at 11:00, when we first went to a Railroad Museum. They transported mostly silver. which was mined in Potosi to Chile, where it can also be shipped.

After that we went to Museo de la Sal, where we got in touch how the salt is
    produced. (See above)

After that we drove over the Salar the Uyuni, which is on a lover sea level as other salt flats & that’s the reason why it is in this region the biggest (Water and Verdunsten 😉) We saw also big holes in the salt flats, which impressed me.

We ate lunch and saw from far away flamingos. Amazing.

We also made a lot of pictures to see the reflection on the salt flat because of the water there. Most parts are at the raining season not dry.

In the evening we saw the sunset and that impressed me soooooooo much! It was the beautifullest sunset I have ever seen in my life. Especially with the reflection.
We drunk wine and drove back to a nice hotel, where we had a good lunch.

During the tour a married couple (Jan and Kathie) was with us. I am now sleeping in a private double room, because Lena is not sleeping in our hostel. Hopefully she is feeling better tomorrow, that she can join us for the next day and also for the border crossing to the Atacama dessert.

  • Second day of the Salar de Uyuni Tour

    15 Şubat 2023, Bolivya

We picked up Lena in the morning at 8:30 and drove at first in a very dry area. During the drive it was harder to breathe, because of the dust of the cars.

At first: the landscape was insane! We drove the whole day.

We visited a rocks in a desert, which were from a volcano. Alberto, our tour guide was asked for coca leaves and he took to much😂 I really felt the altitude, but with the coca leaves it was better. Especially with the coffee coca leaves from Alberto, which were very strong 😂

We also saw like a greener plant, which only grows above 4000m. I made there also a picture in a pig mouth haha. I really loves climbing in this areas😍

The rocks got also “cut” with wind and water, where we also have seen “Risse” in the stones.

We drove after that to the smelly lake(it smelled like sulfid), where a lot of flamingos were. We ate there to lunch.

After that we saw a BIIIRD, which can only fly for 1 km each day, because he is so fat😂

We were after that in a desert, where it was very cold and windy😂 also such an amazing view!! (Desierto Siloli)

We drove also to a place, where we saw an animal as an mixture of an rabbit and a rat💪🏽 climbing there was also so nice!!

The second last stop was inside of the Avaroa National Park(15€), the Laguna Colorada. This lake should be red& the flamingos eat there stuff, then they turn pink hehe.

Overnight we stayed in the cold National park after a nice dinner.

  • Last day of the tour

    16 Şubat 2023, Bolivya

We woke up at 4:00 to drive after breakfast at 5:00 to see the sunrise at a geyser. It was really amazing to see this geysers. (Wasserdampf & an der Quelle bis zu 280 Grad, 5000m)
After that we drove to a hot spring at 4500m, which was 38 degree warm. Especially after the night and the coldness during the sunrise it was amazing to relax there with an amazing view!! (Termas de Polques)

We made after that a stop at the Salvador Dali's Desert. Nice colors in the desert!

After that we drove to the Laguna verde (green) and the Laguna Blanca.

We crossed after that the border and now we are staying for approximately 4 days in the Atacama dessert. There is one of the lest light and dirty pollution of the worldX that’s the reason why a lot of international observatories are.

I really enjoyed staying in the Salar the Uyuni and to see the beautiful landscapes there. First hot spring as well as geyser in my life.

The rest of the day we chilled at our kot social hostel & cooked in the evening. We also played two nice drinking games from Lena and Charlotte and went out. This will be the last place together with Lena, Charlotte and Jana 🥲

  • Chilling and more or less planning

    16 Şubat 2023, Şili

We slept out and chilled quiet long at the hostel. After that we went to Lena’s breakfast and played some cards there, which I really enjoyed with my cappuccino.

Chile is still very expensive at accommodations and food, so I am happy, that I only was in summary for ~2 weeks there. (Chiloe, Valparaiso, vina del mar & Torres des Paine is missing there🤷🏽‍♂️)

After booking a stargazing tour (Highlight of myself here, because the air pollution is here very less & one of the biggest observatories of the world are there) and renting a car for Sunday, Lena, Charlotte and myself ate nice ice.

I also wanted to book my bus ticket to the next place in Bolivia, but is was harder as I excepted. We will see, how it works at the end. (In the south of Bolivia the bus Companies are striking, but It was not the case in the evening even more).

Also our stargazing tour was cancelled.

We played a game after cooking in the hostel, but because I felt not good, I went early to bed.

  • Today we rented a bike at the hostel to explore the north of San Pedro de Atacama. Unfortunately Jana felt the las t days sick, she decided not to go with us.

So we went to the quebreda del diabolo by bike after crossing a river and walked/hiked to a viewpoint. Wow, the nature is different to the roadtrip and Uyuni and it really looked as in the moon. Getting to the viewpoint was very exhausting for us.

Because all girls are veggie, we went AGAIN to a veggi restaurant. BUT I really enjoyed my falafel. Humus is still NOT MY CUP OF TEA. During the dinner, our stargazing tour was again cancelled.🥲

So we went to a karaoke bar, had one drink, sang dance with somebody and danced a little bit.

After that I had an interesting conversation with Lena, because I think I will be in the same situation as herself in 2-3 year.

  • After a short night we woke up early to rent our car to explore Valle de La Luna and the Lagunas Escondidas de Baltinache. We already booked a online ticket for Valle de La Luna.

Unfortunately we were unlucky with our car rental and we were not able to rent a car. It was also Sunday, so we did not get any taxi driver and no uber and cab drove. I was very frustrated, because these were two big highlights of my trip.. also for renting a bike was to late at that time, because for the entry of Valle de La Luna you need to be there before 11 with the bike. Fucking shit.

So we made the best of our day and our hostel guide drove us to a swimming pool close by, where we could only enter, when you have an Chilean money transfer system. 🤦🏼‍♂️We asked people so it went out good.

We chilled there till the evening (except Lena, she went before) and cooked some pasta with avocado and tomato Sauce again.

We already expected, that our stargazing tour will be cancelled again, BUT IT WASN‘T!! The first tour after 20 days our guide told us. We were so happy and ate fastly our dinner.

At first we got some Basis information about astronomy with snacks and after that we were able to look trough telescopes. I saw the mars closer, as well as colourful stars and a dusty cloud, where behind is another universe. To see the stars trough a telescope was sooooooo amazing!! (but I needed to get in touch with looking trough the telescope as well)

After that we made some pictures with the camera of them. The tour was quiet nice!

Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to Lena already, because she is going in the morning to salta. What a pitty, but after the days in Atacama, we/all of us are very excited and happy, that we can travel alone again. (Also other routes). These kind of bigger groups include a lot of compromise, but we still had an amazing time!!!

The plan is to book a ticket tomorrow for oruro and go to Sucre. Maybe this takes more time as I want, but it will work out somehow.

Otherwise I should have to stay two more nights in San Pedro, but I am taking this effort now 😂🙈 buses are driving bad currently to Uyuni, that’s the reason why I need to take this indirection way now.

I had to say goodbye to Charlotte and Jana after Lena 🥲 everyone is going to another country again. I had such a great time with this company, but I am looking forward to solo travelling again!

  • Short Stop in Ururo

    21 Şubat 2023, Bolivya ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

After 16h of bus transfer I arrived in Oruro and I am taking an overnight bus to Sucre at 22:30 this night.
It was very cold at night and we waited from 6:30-10:30 to border, which was very annoying. Also the seat of the person in front of my was damaged, so he leaned the whole drive to my knees, which was not comfortable.😂 But I slept ~11h of the drive I would say, so it was ok.

I have seen shortly now Oruro, tupiza and Uyuni in Bolivia and now I know why this the poorest country in South America. Buildings/ houses are in a bad condition, mostly sanded streets and I hope Sucre/La Paz will be nicer🙈

Also in the accommodation I booked for safety in Oruro, if there is no bus at the national holiday of Bolivia (today) to Sucre, would have been fully booked out. So I am Lucky to catch a bus at 22:30 today. I will arrive at 5:30.

I ate a very nice bife the chorizo before I went to the bus station.

Today the carnival in Oruro will be over, but it is still a lot of waterboms and spray here😂 funny. It decided very aware to skip the carnival everywhere and not to see much him, because to book everything shortly before would be crazy expensive. As well as the flight to Rio would be ~350€ one way.

To be honest, the last few days were with a lot of bad luck connected and the transfer now with two overnight buses is also not the best. Sometimes this happens at traveling, but I would wish myself to have a better time soon.

At least I got in touch with Sebastian and I „spoke“ with him in Spanish. Very nice guy:))

  • Arriving in sucre

    22 Şubat 2023, Bolivya ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

I arrived in Sucre at 7:30. after breakfast in the hostel, I bought a SIM card and went to the barber. After that I visited the Casa de la Libertad Museum, where the independence signature of Bolivia was signed 1825. I also learned about the history of Bolivia.

In 1879 during carnival Chile attacked Bolivia and they got the atacama desert. With the help of Peru, Bolivia is now the only country without an connection to a sea.
I also bought new socks, because all of mine are very damaged 😂 also I made laundry.
I joined also a free walking tour, where I met Damian (German) and a Russian couple living in New Jersey.

Sucre is also called the White City because of all its white buildings. Sucre is small but nice, but not soo much to do.

Our local guide was amazing of the free walking tour. We ate some local fruits, tried chocolate, drunk the national corn drink (not so good haha).

(An Eifel tower 2.0 with a lot France imported things are in one park, there was a rich mine family who sponsernd that and they loved France 😂)
(Putcha Mama: they say it before drinking & put a little bit on the ground to show their appreciate to the Mother Nature.)

We also saw the night sky over Sucre.

I the evening I played Beer long with Damian and had a nice time at our social hostel.

    Unser Tag:

We woke up early to drive 3h to Potosi. After Martin, Damian and myself booked a tour (+2 Dutchis) and we went to Casa de la Moneda. This museum is a coin museum and with our tour there we learned about coin production (especially during the colonialism).

    To the history of Potosi:

The Spain people mined the silver (more the slavers and the Incas for them) in Potosi after exploring the city. Potosi was the wealthiest city during the colonialism! The slaves mined 1-4m(!!) silver lines, which is immens. Now they are only 10cm big…
Then they produced coins with that silver or made barrels of that. (At first (1575-1773) they made the coins with the hand and then with machines. (At first the machines were operated with 16 slavers and after that with horses).
