  • Museum + Miraflores + watershow

    23. mars 2023, Peru ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

After a good breakfast in the hostel I had a call with my Marco. Then I had a big problem: my IPhone was not loading again. I had the problem longer, but now it was the end.

I “repaired” it with my paper clip & flashlight. There was so much dirt inside the loading whole and also super much sand. Now it works better then before if the journey here 😍

So after that I went to a museum of contemporary art and it was about the Amazon. Super interesting and nice art there. (barranco)

Then I went around the beautiful miraflores area. So much green and soo amazing so see sea Pazifik and the cliffs with the high buildings there. I also went to Larcomar, a huge shopping mal in the cliffs.

I had a late lunch afterwards with an amazing view!
After lunch I met randomly a women again & we smiled each other Mutual in the park of the museum. Then she stopped with her bike and I spoke with Sarita (Peru) one hour at the park. Spiritual and nice conversation.

Afterwards I walked quite long to a (water) and green park and I watched there a water and light show. I really enjoyed it walking around the water fountains there.
There was also an event I was allowed to enter and I have seen a peruan dance show and i also saw the prime minister of Peru there 😂 I still don’t know which event this was haha. I also felt like a Paparazzi there hahahahaha super nice

Then I took the bus for 0,8€ home, compared to walk 2h or taking a taxi (6€).

I already love the vibes of Lima and the amazing places I have seen so far.

  • Centro historico +fortress+Museo Larco

    24. mars 2023, Peru ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Today I went with the public transport the longer distances around the city. At first I made a stop at the really beautiful Centro historical with their plaza de armes, basilica, cathedral de Lima and a church.

On the way I saw the palacio de justicia. This area was really nice and the architecture impressed me a lot. The basilica also had catacombs. The public transport is screeming around and only people, who know the area/bus stop names are used to that “public chaos”. But with asking it went out. Taxi driving would be to expensive, so I decided the public transport way. It went all out!! Also everyone was so helpfull.

So I went with two collectivos to Fortaleza del Real Felipe, which is a fortress of the Spain of the 18th century. This fortress is close to the water and it really impressed me. Never seen something like that before. With the guns, wow. (The biggest gun was from London!) I also saw an u-boat from the mirador, which was not allowed to enter..😂#icannotspeakspanish

Then I went to the museo larco (after going spontaneously to a barber), which was suuuper interesting. It showed mostly the different artefacts, for example drinking containers", carpets, clothing, jewellery, figurines and erotic Keramik artefacts😂, of the different cultures in Peru.

They showed different artefacts of the peruan civilisation before the Spain came (Mochica, huari, chancay).
Ther was also a cloth with of the chincha-Inca epoch, where a rug holds the world record in weaving at 157 threads per centimeter.!! It could be, that a Inca king wears that.
    I really loved that museo.

After food I drove home and chilled at the hostel. Also my feats are hurting after that long day.

  • Beach + Huaca Pucllana Museum

    26. mars 2023, Peru ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

In the morning I clarified some stuff about my next journey and how to go to Ecuador: by bus
Then I went to the beach, listened to music and relaxed.

To be honest: lima is amazing. The city has history, nice museums, very nice parks, stunning areas & a seaside. Also the woman are super attractive here.

I also bought a new heat, because of the sun & I really like the style, but I need to get a little bit in touch with them at first😂

In the evening I had a YouTube history lesson, because I watched around 4-5h of history about the world & so many thing I should know, I know now!

At the next day I had a call with my parents and then I went to an super interesting museum: Huaca Pucllana Site Museum ; Remains of a clay and roam-pyramid of the Lima culture, which was covered by sand before 1981. it was 3 times bigger than now, they build it for 200 years at around 400 AD and they used it for religious purpose as a sacrifice Center. I also saw mummies of sacrificed people.
    They are also still discovering.

Then I wanted to book my bus tickets to Guayaquil and at the the buses are not driving good for me and it tooks over 35h. so I decided to fly now, after Iquitos. In the evening I got in touch with Tim from Munich but because of my flight tomorrow . So I tooked it easy and I am super excited about the Amazon jungle tour in Iquitos !!

  • Arriving in Iquitos

    27. mars 2023, Peru ⋅ 🌙 26 °C

Today I woke up at 6:30 and after breakfast I walked to miraflores to catch a bus to the airpot (3x cheaper than a taxi!!). Then I flew 2 hours. Iquitos is only accessibly by river or by plane & I am now in the middle of a joungle. Iquitos is bigger as expected & a lot of tuck tucks here. Also the mercado is smelling super strong and it is strange to walk there trough..
I met Alex from Francia (Parents from Cambodia, 31) at the hostel and we went to a cafe, then to the riverside and we went after the plaza de armes and a church for dinner.

Alex is doing a Ayahuasca retreat here, where Iquitos is also famous for. In the middle of the nature.

Tomorrow is time for the Amazon joungle trip!!

  • 1. Day

    28. mars 2023, Peru ⋅ ☁️ 24 °C

Today I woke up at 6:30 to get picked up after breakfast at 7:05. we drove to Nauta 2h with the and then 2h with the boat to our sleeping lounge. I make my trip with an American and Netherlands guy and other people who stay longer/shorter.

On the way we saw a slough (faultier) on a tree. What an crazy eye out tour guide had! He was moving super slow and it was super interesting to see. Also we drove on the Amazon river, which goes till the east side of Brazil!!

Then we checked in in our lodge and saw an lizzard and I had an amazing viewpoint above our place.
After lunch we had a dolphin tour, where I have seen plenty of PINK and grey dolphins, which was suuuper cool. We also swimmer there in the river!! Super cool & I have seen a pink dolphin from 5 meters away during swimming. On the way back we saw a slough super much closer. Super cool!!

Then we went to an indigenous village, where I have been played soccer as the only one of our 10 persons group with them. We lost 3:2🥹😂

Then we had dinner and went to a alligator tour after the sun went down, where I have seen two baby alligators. We drove super trough the Pampa with our boat and to see the stars was absolutely amazing. Nice tour!

Our guide also cought one!! But unfortunately I have not seen a big one. The Moskitos are also super annoying, but it’s part of the game.

  • 2. day

    29. mars 2023, Peru ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

At the second day we went to feed some monkeys with limes. Super cool to see and feed them & there were also fighting about food 😂 then we also saw the smallest monkey race of the world (baby 3cm) and fire ants. Going closer inside the jungle and the mossis are everywhere.

Then we went to a big big tree & the sea level there is 3m higher than on the dry season. I climbed there and I really enjoyed it. I also went high and I felt a little bit danger 😂

During driving back I saw an Tukan and a black monkey.I really enjoyed the morning tour!

After dinner I played again soccer, before I saw an Papagei on the village 😍 these colours were amazing. After we won, we drunk cerveza super fast, because we bet before the game😂.

In the afternoon tour we fished, which I not enjoyed so much, because we also did not catch any piranha. Not that season for that.

Afterwards we went to sleep in the jungle.. So our guides was marking our roof and we slept in tents. They also showed us, how to make fire in the jungle and I cuttend wood with the machete 💪🏽

Then we went to a night walk in the jungle to see animals. We saw frogs, spiders, Tarantel (3x!), fire ants and two fucking snacked. The Boa tree, which was on an tree and our guide putted it on a Ast & an anaconda on the ground.

We also wanted to eat frog, so our guide killed the sweet frog, prepared everything, roasting and eating with spaghetti. It tasted good! Little Bit like chicken.

We wanted to wake up at 4:30 to see the sunset, but it began heavily to rain at this time. I slept ok.

Then we went to our lodge for breakfast and a national reserve to see liliplants. (Seerosen). After that our guide also explained sth about medical plants. Super interesting.

After that we went to hugging a slough & he moved so slow and he was suuuuper sweet😍

Then we drunk some beer again and after lunch we went 2h with boat and 2h with car back to Iquitos.

Wow, in summary the Amazonas was amazing! I was on the Amazon River, swam there & have seen an amazing nature with a lot of animals.
Tukan, Papagei, slough, alligators, tarantella, monkeys, woodpecker, green/yellow/blue birde, owl & snakes. I loved it also to have no connection & enjoy the nature & the noises of the Jungle

  • Short stay in guayaquil

    31. mars 2023, Ecuador ⋅ 🌩️ 28 °C

After I had breakfast and lunch in Iquitos I flew back to lima. I also met Alexandra from France after her retreat again:))

The city Iquitos by itself was not very nice. A lot of dirt & the mercado was the worst smelling and in the badest conditions I have ever seen a mercado. I drove together with Daniel from Mexiko to the airpot and waited for the flight.

I Took again the cheaper bus to miraflores and walked after having a nice pizza back to the hostel.

At the next day I drove after breakfast & wishing jess all the best for her birthday to the airpot (because of the luggage with an cab). The airpot of Guayaquil is the most frequent in Ecuador, because of the flights also to Galapagos. The flights would be ok (200 € inkl. Luggage), but the stay would be super expensive, that’s the reason why I not go there. Next time, when I have more money 😂

I also needed to buy a ticket out of Ecuador at the airpot, which I didn’t know. So I booked a Fake flight and it went out. Better informing would be good haha.

Guayaquil is not the best place to stay, but i still went after checking in to the city Center and walked around. It was nice, but it is not worth it to stay longer.

Tomorrow I will go to Montanita, maybe take an surf class and chill close to the beach.

  • Beautiful montanita & surfing

    2. april 2023, Ecuador ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

After an ok breakfast I went in the morning 4h by bus to montanita. It is a known beach place with a lot of party. But I got in touch with Juan (stayed 4 weeks in montanita ) and his sister Maria from Spain and he knows a chilled place a little bit outside of the party area. So I decided to stay with them.

We went to the beach in the afternoon and saw the sunset. In the evening we played cards with British guys and one German guy. Supper chilled evening.

At the next day I went to breakfast with Juan and Maria and then I booked a tour to Isla de plata with snorkelling for tomorrow. Now I heard it id closed.. we will se 😂(2/3 was closed because of the raining season)
I also had a Call with Paddy to wish him all the best time in Thailand and also called with isi:)

Then I rented a surf board for one day and I really enjoyed it! Hard at the beginning, but it went out ok. I was able to stand and surfed in 2x for 4-5 seconds! I can now understand why people love surfing. So nice to have that kind of sport at the beach. Also to chill after the first wallbreaker it is super chilled.

Then Juan and Maria came to the beach and we watched the sunset and went swimming in the dark. Super nice.

Then I cooked with Maria in the hostel in the evening.

I really understand, why people get stuck at this beautiful place 😍
I also saw whater buffalo’s at the beach and an big lizard (1.3m) in the hostel😂

  • Isla de la plata!!

    4. april 2023, Ecuador ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

Today I went to the Parque Nacional
Machalilla, more exactly to the Isla de La plata, which is known for the „Galapagos for the poor in Ecuador. I have seen two (paracas, Isla Balletares) Islands like them now & I am super happy with that animals result!

We drove 1h with the bus and 1h then with the boat to this island. I saw super many different birds & the one with the blue feets you can only see them there and at Galapagos.

We walked around the Isla and it was super hot (unfortunately we have not seen the Albatros & some paths were closed, because of the raining season)

I still was super happy to see the other birds and the amazing cliffs! Then we had lunch and during that we saw 2 big turtles, which I have seen later inside the water during snorkelling again.🙌🏽💪🏽

Suuuper nice fishes also there were crabs and i have sen a see star. Loved it!

I have also seen a lizard, who fighted against a scorpion😂💪🏽

In the evening I played again cards with the German guy Christian and the English people, where I went with Gaia from the Netherlands

    5. april 2023, Ecuador ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

I stayed one more night to go with Juan, Maria and Gaia to ayampe, to watch Susanna (Ecuadorean girl from Juan) surfing. So we chilled with her group on the beach, super chilled!

In the evening we made party at the hostel together & then it started heavily raining. The relax area of the hostel was mostly overflowed with water, but we still had super fun. I decided to go swimming with Gaia in that rain, which was also super nice! When we went to bed it our dorm was also with water🤦🏼‍♂️

Today I went to the Nationalpark Cajas with 6 other people from the hostel. (German, mexican, British). We drove 1h from the bus terminal after 20 min walk to to the bus terminal the entrance of the Parque Nacional Cajas at the Laguna Toreadora. Then we hiked around 4 hours and we were 3900 m high!
I really enjoyed the walk/hike, but it started raining after 1h and we got wet😂
Super beautiful to see all the small Lagunas and the mountains!

After a little bith of waiting we drove again 1h home. I really enjoyed the day!
In the evening we went to a eastern procession, which was really strange. Ecuador is very religious, so the procession was unusual to see, because I am also not that religious. (Also 3 people carried crosses and there were slammed with a roap🤷🏽‍♂️) So we went away from there fast, and after dinner I chilled in the hostel and drunk some beer with the Canadian Digital Normand Marcus

Today I had a call with Tara after breakfast and she is unfortunately not joining me In Colombia🥹

Then I went to a free walking tour with people from the hostel and the Canadian guy Marcus and with an Irish couple, which is also met during the Isla de La plates tour. They also went to that scary Easter parade yesterday night & they are also in my hostel 😂

The city is beautiful, tiny, and lovely. Their buildings and their Color, especially at night!😍🥹

After the free walking tour we went to the mercado and had some lunch and coffee 😎😍

Then we went to the Pumapungo Museum, although the ruins of Pumapungo were closed. The museum was nice, I liked it!

It was still raining super heavily till we went out of the museum, so we took the taxi.

After chilling at the hostel and speeking to a tattoo artist downstairs of the hostel I went with Marcus to dinner and then I went to the bus station. I will drive to banos for 9h and I want to stay there 4-5 days. I hope I will report of some nice outdoor activities!

Because I still had problems with loading my phone, I went to an professional Apple Store and he figured out, that only my old cables are the problem. So I bought 2 new cables and I should be fine now.
I also bought a new towel, new shoes and new ear plugs. Productive morning and a lot of organisational stuff is done now.

Then I met Gaia in the hostel again and we will do canyoning tomorrow!

Then I went to La Casa del Arbol, which has an amazing view over the mountains in banos. I also have seen an rainbow there.

During the bus ride I got in touch with Diego from Argentina, and we went there together, super funny and cool guy.

We also went on a a swing, which was very cool!

After having dinner at the hostel by cooking, I decided to go to thermal bathes with French girls of the hostel. Gaia felt still sick, so she did not join🥲

In the morning I went with Gaia for the first time in my life canyoning. Fuck it, it was super nice! We made it for 1 1/2 hours and we went down 4 waterfalls. We were able to jump at the end of each down sailing into the water, which was cold😂
We also walked down for one time and also to slip.

At the end we were at a 35m waterfall and he introduced us to sailed down: but no! He let me fall 10-15m down and I was not expecting that! Wow that was so good!

Because Our guide Alex liked us, we were able to jump with the head in front again. I was really scared at the beginning 😂

So it was a really nice activity, which I really enjoyed, also we were only us two:)

After heading back to the hostel and having lunch, we drove with the bus to the cascade del diabolo, which is the biggest one around here.

I enjoyed the walk to that waterfall and because we got very close, we should get wet. So we decided to take out our clothes and walked behind that waterfall! Super cool and refreshing and cool experience. Also that we had to crawl the last 5 min to that place was super cool! Then it started raining again and we went with the bus back to the hostel.

After having dinner at the hostel, we went to the thermes:)

I really enjoy the nature as well as the activities to do here.

So I drove 45 min do another place, where I was able to start and to land at the same place, which is very unusual my guide sailed. I also have seen the vulcano catopaxi and tungurahu.

I enjoyed paragliding, being so high and have a super nice view. During the glide I have also seen a rainbow.

It was nice to glide fast left and right but the highlight was a loop we did at one point, so we went in 4-5 times around our own axis. So super cool! After 25 mins it was over 🥹

Bungee jumping is still on my bucket list in San Gil, Kolumbia. Fallschirmspringen wäre einer der letzten Sachen, was ich geil fände als Adrenalin Kick!
