Greymouth to Blackball

Left Cape Foulwind, cloudy with some rain. Some stunning coastal views.
Stopped at Charleston for some caches and a look around.
Then onto Punakaiki Rocks. Stunning. Long walk for me.

Parked up in town and caught the tour to Stockton Mine. Day was cloudy. This proved to be the one all day. Rain and fogged came in which impacted the tour in a big way. Able to see the trucks working.Les mer
Left Westport after doing laundry. Travelled up to Cape Foulwind through Carter's Beach. Had a bowl of chips and a garlic bread at the pub before going to the FC site overlooking the sea.

Brake part for bus didn't arrive from Christchurch so we went to Denniston Mine in G & P bus. Had a great day exploring up there. Finished off with a meal at Denniston Dog Restaurant.
Dicey trip through the Bullet Gorge with brakes not too good.
13th trip to Denniston.
14th part arrived and got bus fixed.
Decided to travel on our own today. Went to Kaiteriteri. Windy, hilly drive. Stunning beach. People everywhere. Forgot it was Waitangi day. Carried on travelling to Split Apple Rock. Too many cars.Les mer
Lots of wineries on way. Stopped in Havelock for lunch. Ran into Ron and Ann Churton. On to the Pelorus Tavern. Stayed behind the pub. Had a lovely blue cod shared meal at the pub. Found a cache. SatLes mer
An early start with off to the ferry terminal at 6.00 am. Absolutely awesome crossing with hardly any movement onboard the Connemara. Good coffee and scone for brekkie. Arrived Picton a bit after 11Les mer
Left Marton 9.30 am travelled to Plimmerton. Park was about half full. Penny and Graham were already here. Caught up with Ken and Sally. Another lazy day
