Today dawned sunny and bright so we decided to visit the National Park de la Brenne, which is basically a network of lakes interspersed with ancient woodland. First stop of the day was a great birdWeiterlesen
Wednesday was a brilliant day :-) we got up and drove two hours to france’s ‘green venice’... a wetland/ canal complex which you can explore by boat. We hired a two-person boat for 3 hours andWeiterlesen
We returned to the Parc de la Brenne for more brilliant bird watching yesterday. Highlights included a night heron and watching some baby purple herons in their nest... but by far the best half hourWeiterlesen
After a couple of hours driving, and a couple of breaks in the aires for drink and a picnic we arrived in Rouen. Roadworks made us detour to a different car park but a short walk later we were in ourWeiterlesen
After leaving Rouen we had about 2 hours in total to the EuroTunnel terminal so we stopped off about 20 minutes short for a brief and very windy walk to Cap Gris Nez a few miles west of Calais.Weiterlesen
