Walked around town after changed hotels. Lots of eateries by new hotel. Met tour group for drink then dinner in local restaurant.4 kiwis 3 Ozzie's 2 yanks and Elaine as guide.
Early start to tour of Acropolis. Busy and hot. Then walked to museum and back for icecream lunch. Saw changing of the guards outside parliament.
Early start again for 9am ferry from Piraeus harbour Athens to Naxos.4hrs 15 on quick cat ferry. Arrived to hotel orientate icecream lunch then walk to St George beach for swim. Little waves. 40 EuroWeiterlesen
Early walk along waterfront to abandoned building. Trip to Yiaias place for cooking lesson.made stuffed vege meatballs at tzaki. Drive out to their farm with lots of fruit trees and vege. Back to eatWeiterlesen
Rob and I and Razia did all day bus tour around island. Temple with museum had to walk long way up to then Damalas for 17th century olive press and pottery demo. Lots hills and rocks and stone wallWeiterlesen
Ferry to Athens left 9am .first class so had better seats and views. Athens 3 pm where met van and Tasus driver. Walked over Corinth Canal 55m deep. Stayed at posh old hotel on waterfront Napflio.Weiterlesen
Up early as Rob and Razia walked the 857 steps up to Palamidi castle. I took bus and walked around 40mins then bus back. Boat trip out to island castke.Icecream for lunch then coffee with icecreamWeiterlesen
Swam after breakfast then trip to Duros cave. Very busy. Went in small boat and quite low in places. Stopped in Areopoli for Saturday markets where bought fruit then pie at bakery and Icecream forWeiterlesen
Left 8.30 for Kardamyli for coffee. Most shops shut. Lunch in Kalamata with more churches. Next to olive farm where they showed us how produced then tasted all oils and nibbles made from oil. HotelWeiterlesen
