▪️Bevor wir gestern ins Airbnb fuhren, überraschte ich Sophie im Backpack Oz Hostel - sie war völlig überfordert, sie hat überhaupt nicht damit gerechnet und freute sich riesig :D
▪️Parkten mit dem Auto in North Adelaide in der Hill Street, da es dort kostenlos ist und liefen ca. 30min ins CBD zur Rundle Mall
▪️Kaufte mir eine neue Thermoflasche von Typo, da meine durch das viele runterfallen vom Autodach nicht mehr richtig steht und doof aussieht :(
▪️Zum Abendbrot machte Jasper uns leckere Zucchini Patties mit Kartoffelsalat - so lecker!Read more

Cricket och fladdermöss

Som i de flesta samväldesstater är cricket enormt stort i Australien. Nu råkade det vara landskamp mellan Australien och Pakistan på den stora arenan Adelaide Oval.

Eftersom landskampsmatcher pågår i upp till fem dagar (jag tror att den var inne på dag 2) gick vi i stället och tittade på en träningsmatch som pågick intill.

Mer spännande var det att fortsätta promenaden mot botaniska trädgården (förstås!) och titta på pelikaner och enorma mängder flygande hundar.Read more

Well Adelaide has been quite the adventure for us! First of all, it was really nice catching up with my Dad’s side of the family and his friends. We had a fair few parties with them. We also got to celebrate a few cool things such as, Miami’s 14th birthday at the trampoline park, Christmas Day at my Aunty and Uncle’s place and a combined birthday Mexican night with Casa, Maria, Renae and I. We got to see a lot of Adelaide and a few of my favourite places where, Hahndorf, Adelaide CBD, Mawson Lakes and Tea Tree Gully. I really like these places because they where all so pretty and had a lot of fun and cool things to both see and do. I also got the chance to see my first BBL cricket game with the Adelaide strikers versing the Melbourne Renegades. They started the game off with a big entrance of all the players running out onto the field between the fireworks. Then when they where playing they had a cheerleading team come out and preform for the halftime show. Finally after the game was finished they where handing out a bunch of cool free stuff like merchandise and energy drinks. Overall I realised how much I loved Adelaide and how sad I am to leave this place but hopefully I can come back next year!Read more

Day 14
A quick run into Adelaide

A bit of a slow start this morning, funnily enough. We decided to put the oodie through the wash since it was meant to be a hot day, well the 45 minute cycle was a lot longer than that, so a bit of a delay before making the trek into Adelaide. I haven't been there before and Ben doesn't remember much, we both thought it felt really nice, good vibes and definitely keen to fly over for a long weekend at some point, hopefully we can line it up with an AFL match or the cricket. We stopped at the Adelaide oval and did a lap around the outside. There are a few different tour options here that we'll have to look into for next time too. It was pretty hot so we took it slow for Pup. We headed into Glenelg for lunch, with a bit of a wander first, such a lovely spot too! We ate at Moseley, and when Ben was grabbing drinks and a menu, he spotted Jeremy McGovern from the West Coast Eagles. So that was a bit exciting! After a feed, we were ready to head back. We did get caught up in traffic, so it took a bit longer than before. Ben ran into woolies at Gawler since we move again tomorrow and there's only a foodland in the Barossa. Once back at the airbnb, Pup and I had a nap before getting our things organised and packed to leave in the morning.Read more
