      Last nights in Roma

      May 29 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

Here are some more from the Borghese… I think I looked a lil more like this lady than the statue from a previous post so I thought I would share.

We then went to a pretty roof top for dinner and then saw Emiliano again and I picked some flowers 🌸 and they looked very pretty on Emiliano- really brought out his eyes.

We did a final washing load (we are very clean ladies) and then went out for dinner with Elisa Blu and Pietro, where we got Trapassini and they were so so soooo good. Pietro gave us a last car ride tour around before we had to wake up early so we catch the train to Florence. 🦋🤘⛲️🌸🎒💚🥰🤓🤌

      54 Hours In Rome

      November 1 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 73 °F

Day 1 We woke up at 4:30am threw on some clothes and made our way to the Catania airport for Rome. (Sadly the balcony breakfast has come to an end 😢) We arrived in Rome and got picked up by a car service, first impression is how busy it is!!! We arrived at our hotel got changed and walked 30 minutes to a local market only to find out it is was closed for All Saints’ Day. We then ventured to the Jewish quarter and had fried artichokes, one of their specialties. It was super packed so we left and walked to an area closer the our place in Trastevere. We had an amazing lunch followed by more walking and sangrias. (Who would have known amazing sangria in Italy) We made our way back to the hotel and I took a nap while Klaus worked. After a little siesta, we changed and headed downstairs to a cute wine bar with tapas. We were both tired so off to bed in hopes of an early morning of exploring.
Day 2 - Woke up and went to the roof top of our B&B for a cappuccino and croissant, not quit the same as Sicily but charming in its own way! 27,883 steps and 13.53 miles later we saw a lot 😂. The morning walk sadly started with a young man taking his own life by jumping off the bridge into the Tiber River. We arrived just after he jumped, he was floating face down and the water rescue and the entire Roman police force was arriving to retrieve his body. Sooo Sad 😞. First stop was the Pantheon, such a beautiful church. Second stop the Trevi Fountain, followed by a aperol and a slice of roman pizza. We passed by the Spanish steps for a quick photo opp before doing some shopping. After the shopping we stopped and had a wonderful lunch. Klaus left me and went back to the B&B for a couple of video calls. I decided to walk to Vatican City to see St Peter's Basilica, it was well worth the extremely long lines. Pictures don’t do it justice!!! Klaus met me outside the Basilica and we walked back to the shopping area to buy “Creed”. We put our hotel into our GPS only to discover it was a 40 minute walk back and our feet were burning. After finally convincing Klaus that maybe we should take an electric bike back to the hotel we couldn’t find one that was charged. 😂😂 We made it back, changed our shoes and walked (limped) to the restaurant I have been wanting to try and once again the line was around the block. (Like the craziest thing I have ever seen.) We went to the restaurant next door and thought the wine and bruschetta was terrible so we paid and left. We walked back towards the hotel to a restaurant the hotel had suggested and it did not disappoint!!! We went for a quick walk before heading back to the hotel and going to sleep.
Day 3 - Woke up early, packed our bags, grabbed the rooftop cappuccino, checked out and made our way to The Arch of Constantine for the Colosseum tour. We had an amazing few hours seeing and learning about Rome’s history. We visited the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and ended at The Roman Forum. After the tour we rented E bikes and biked to a town called Testaccio that has a market with street food and vendors. We sampled amazing pizza and prosecco. We walked down the street and had lunch at Pecorinos before getting back on the bikes to the hotel. We dropped the bikes off and had a coffee at a local bar that Stanley Tucchi had visited. Klaus had a video call for work before the taxi picked us up for the airport. Off to Vienna, Bye-bye Rome.

      Kolosseum

      June 5 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Anya - Roman Holiday at the Colosseum

      May 27 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 82 °F

Anya decided to get a hand-made dress she saw in a little shop on the way to the Colosseum in Rome as her big souvenir for this trip. It's like it was made for her. So of course we had to do a photoshoot.Read more

Piazza Navona + Saint Ignazio Church

      May 18 in Italy ⋅ 🌙 22 °C

We went to this Piazza and then got pizza and ate it next to the fountain. This church had a dome painted like a dome but it was actually a flat ceiling painted to look like a dome. Don’t mind the odd angles- everything was quite tall so I couldn’t reach for a nicer frontal view.Read more

      Tag 2 Teil 2

      June 4 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

      Rom

      April 6 in Italy ⋅ 🌧 12 °C

Yesterday we saw the seaside for the first time on you train from Pisa to Rome. Beautiful blue colour 💙.
In the afternoon we took a walk to get a nice spot for a view over Rome. Today we already passed Colloseum and Forum Romanum. With all the tourists it's enough to see it from outside. Honestly you can see all over the history place while walking around. Pantheon, Castle Sant Angelo, walking along the river Tiber, piazza del Popolo and the Spanish steps and back to the hotel while it started raining.

      Rome again

      April 8 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Yesterday was a exciting and bizarre day. A Pyradime in Rome and a lake which was made for the Expo which didn't take place at all. But it was a sunny and nice day.
Today we went to the catacombs. Afterwards it was time for my favorite topic in cities - a great view and bridges.
At the end we went to the Trevi Fountain. There were too many tourists, so we just past it and kept going 😅

      1. Tag in Rom

      June 3 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Schrittzäher stand aktuell: 25000 Schritte🫠Read more
