Day 488: Geiranger FjordJune 17, 2018 in Norway ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C
Out early and lots of driving again, heading south-west this time. Lots of epic scenery around as we entered fjord country - tall rugged mountains with snow, deep valleys, lakes, serene fjords, tumbling waterfalls and roaring rapids too.
We were in and out of the car for much of the day but had a great time checking everything out. Early evening we made camp in the town of Geiranger which is one of the typical cruise ship destinations within Norway, even giant ones like the Queen Mary 2 have been in here. No cabins available at either campsite so we just used the tent.
The fjord here is a world heritage site (jointly with another fjord 100km that we'll visit in a few days), so we did a bunch of filming as well.Read more
